Exactly! And that, if for no other reason, is why Lebron will never be the GOAT. MJ called himself the best in the world, because he was, but he never called himself the GOAT, because he never had to. He lets his fans do the campaigning for him. Lebron wants so badly for people to believe that he is, because deep down, he knows he's not.

@Zarkarian64 I agree with everything you said. Lowering the standards, seems to be the norm, whenever industries are run by people who don't respect the past and embrace shortcuts. The NBA isn't about competition anymore. Propaganda and narratives take center stage, while they disrespect the foundation of the game and the legacies of the past generations of players. It's like watching politics as they try to convince the previous, generations of NBA fans, that what they are watching, is the best brand of basketball, ever. Meanwhile, they continue to gut the game's integrity and soul with all the rule changes, player empowerment at the expense of player accountability, and emphasis on a small, handful of players, instead of the plethora, of talent throughout the league. It also, doesn't help that players aren't loyal to the fans/organization and are quick to team hop, stack the deck, and play less than 65+ games each season.

Saying LeBron is the greatest basketball player of all-time just means you are too young to even understand that James doesn't even play an all around basketball game with actual fundamentals, skills, and they don't let the opponent even compete against James ...Jordan had to literally overcome actual scouting reports, coaches, and intelligent players and teams who could defend and make adjustments -- the only team Jordan couldn't beat was Detroit; you had LeBron losing to Dirk, Curry three times, and Duncan twice while only beating Jimmy Butler and needed Green to be suspended and the Warriors' front line to be out while needing Kyrie to bail him out as did he need Popovich to take out Duncan in game 6 in 2013 and Allen to hit that shot for that guy to even get those rings ... plus, Jordan never joined Thomas or went to Magic to team up with Magic and Worthy to win because he couldn't get it done -- could you even imagine that? ...Jordan loses from 1988-90 says he doesn't want to be 30 years old with bad knees so he takes his talents to Los Angeles to play with Magic and Worthy -- that's what James did. HAHAHA See, James gave up on himself and we never know how his career would have wound up, same with Durant, gave up on himself ... now Durant had to get out due to Westbrook being an ef-up ... I mean that guy will ef-up anything when it comes to basketball, he's literally stupid and cannot win but plays hard and that's all he has, but James is overrated.

I'm a MJ follower. watch all these vids when they drop. you have an "old guy is a shit take". And haters do go after Labron to much for his comment. We know Labron was out of his mind when he said he was the GOAT. But we make mistakes. it's a knock against but at the end of the day if Labron was the goat the comment would have been true. Overconfidence is a quality in a Pro. It can be forgiven. After labron retires we will see a more reflective man. Then we can start to "judge". I can't wait.
I'm with you man. Just don't hate to hard. Labron is crazy good. Not sure, but if you are my age 40's. Go watched some more Labron. I decided to dive in more and the guy is amazing. I didn't really watch his peak before. did crazy stuff. But no, still not the goat.

@@fishtailfuture All those guys really suck; Jordan was great but individually great but could NEVER BEAT DETROIT until the league helped him in 1991, the Pistons, the NBA, Chuck Daly, and the refs LET JORDAN WIN in 1991 and then the Pistons broke up their team to keep Jordan winning. Why? It's a business so keep the money flowing so everyone gets paid -- that's all that is, it's not real at all. As far as LeBron James, he's just a stat-padding work-out guy who the league makes great but he has all that so-called talent yet he's a 60% loser in the Finals. I mean this is the reality of all that which we have seen and that entire Jordan vs. LeBron debate foolishness is fake .... Anyone who has seen both play knows to even have a conversation about that is just because there's nothing going on in pro sports worth watching and people like to argue to make themselves feel intelligent, confident, and superior because it generates more content more 'for' or 'against' just like in politics over stupid issues that mean nothing and fools buy into this stuff. What does it matter anyway? Okay, let's all believe this guy is the greatest, okay no, that guy is the greatest. Nobody ever stops to think that 'all-time' means 'all-time' and 'time' isn't over? What about the rules that were changed to make the game easier over 'time'? You change the game, you change the rules. The rules were made easier by the league to help Jordan and were made easier to help LeBron. It's not basketball, it's 'Watch this guy tap-dance on stage so everyone can buy the merchandise he's selling and believe what I tell you to believe...' -- That's what this is.

This idea that Lebron "carried" his teams to the finals, every single one of them, is wrong on so many levels. The only time he truly carried a team was the Cavaliers in 2007, and then he left them because he was tired of losing.
Other players were tired of losing with their teams as well, but they stayed with their teams because they were trying to do something great for the franchise. Michael was on one of the worst teams in the 80s- the Bulls. The thing that the Bulls were missing were the letters H-I-T.
But guess what- unlike Lebron, Michael stayed with the Bulls and kept going forward. They eventually got Pippen and Grant, but they weren't the players that they eventually would become in 1991. After 2009, Lebron tried incorporating every single super star he and his manager could get their hands on, and that made him "take his talents" to Miami- the dude couldn't even say he was going to the Miami Heat for whatever reason.
Lebron definitely knew how to play the game, and he knows how to manipulate things. But for some reason everyone wants him to be the most glorious players ever. The only thing he'll be remembered for is his longevity.

I love your attitude bro, and I really like the respect you show, and I even agree LB is your favorite player but I do have to disagree on something: LeBron Never dominated his era, wining 3.4/10 is not domination, I could say Curry dominated a portion of his era, Duncan definitely did, Kobe did, LeBron never did, having to leave your team in order to team up with 2 other of the best players in the league and still coming out short, and then having to do it again, it's the complete opposite of domination.

Why else would we give him the title of GOAT? Jordan had it all. It's always "I didn't know Jordan had handles, played elite defense, could shoot, could jump like that, has that lay package, could dominate the post etc etc etc. do your homework youngblood. LeBron is a really good basketball player. He's not on Jordan's level point blank period. If you actually watch with honest eyes you will see all the ignorant narratives melt away. It's not an era thing. Jordan is the best player of all times, and there is an actual granular analysis that proves no one comes close to being as great as Jordan in the game of basketball. Not even close. The analysis is on RUclips. I can't remember the name of it. It's very objective and such a good mathematical approach to take.

I was born in ‘86 and my first love was the Mark Price Cavs. I spent almost my entire adult rooting for Lebron, here we are. Lebron obviously is a great player in his own right but, MJ literally had it all. The reason we even have “GOATs” is bc MJ dominated the sport of basketball so thoroughly. I honestly believed Lebron was “the best basketball player ever” after 2016 but I also knew I was too young when MJ was playing to actually comprehend and/or analyze his game. So I went back and did my due diligence on MJ , and never did I ever think I’d ever turn into some gd Michael Jordan fan but, here we are. And TBH, it’s not just that the deeper you dive into MJ’s career the more impressive it is, the deeper you look into Lebron’s career, with an objective lens, the less impressive it honestly is….
