Michael Jordan is ranked 1st all time in NBA History for points per game at 30.1, and ranked 6th all time in assists per game for a shooting guard at 5.4 per game. MJ was one of the greatest passers too, but because of his athletic abilities, usually, his dunking and layups are shown in highlight videos. He was also one of the greatest clutch players, and was able to create his own shot, which is why he didn't rely on passing as much. Offense aside, Jordan was also one of the greatest defensive players of all time. The only player to win both the NBA Scoring Title and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. Imagine that...the best offensive and best defensive player in the game...something that is extremely rare. Historically, great offensive players aren't as good defensively, and vice versa. There's usually a compromise. Sometimes, it comes to down to conserving energy for an entire game...but Jordan never slacked on either end. He was a machine.

Most don't realized it was the position that limited his passing. For the short time he played point guard he had 10 triple doubles in 11 games. They always seem to forget that the position makes a big difference it what a player is supposed to do.

Watching Jordan's mix always reminds me of my dad. We watched so many Bull's games together. I was a Bull's fan. He was a Lakers fan. But we both loved to watch Jordan play. When we watched the two teams play each other, he would root for the Lakers, but cheer when Jordan would score. lol Especially when he would do something spectacular like you seen in the video.

There is a Voyager part and part 2 videos that have some rare and less seen footage, including some of the defensive plays and some of the dunks from his dunk contests. There is also recorded footage while Jordan was still retired and a new Bulls player was talking crap about how he would beat him, and Jordan (still in retirement) came to the Bulls practice facility and beat him one on one. Maybe his best single season as far as awards might be his 1988 season. I think he averaged over 37 points per game in 1987. It's really easy to get lost in the rabbit hole with Jordan. He had two 3-peats in the 1990s, and was never even taken to a game 7 in the finals. 3 if those 6 championships were won on the opponent's court, including his last title in 1998 when he won in Utah. To watch him in actual games, there are several on RUclips that many younger people watch to compare how good he was in actual game film and not just highlights. You can't go wrong with Jordan.

Great reaction guys, good on you to not pause on everything or you would’ve had a hour reaction video for a 15 minute video. Good job noticing him not passing like Larry, it was because he had no one to pass to like Larry did. Also the best thing that Kobe picked up from MJ was to play for the fans. MJ knew when he came to your town, people were coming to see him. So he didn’t take the night off, unless he was really hurt and couldn’t give you the show you deserved.

The thing alot of the generations after Jordan's years simply don't realize is that this was MJ every 👏 single 👏 night 👏. No plays off. No rest management. No resting on defense. No backing down. He WAS thee Apex predator of the league! Unrivaled in determination & killer instinct. Skilled in everyway. Motivated to play every game at a level others just couldn't reach. Ten scoring titles (NBA record) in an era where physicality was at its highest (imagine how many more he would have had if players couldn't touch him), 6 Championships (2 three peats with no losses), 5 MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, a Defensive Player of the Year award (despite what recent videos are trying to take away) and countless other benchmark stats that have yet to be broken. Still the only player in NBA history to win the scoring title, MVP, a Championship, Finals MVP and be named to the All-Defensive 1st team in the same season. He did that 4 times. Nearly every obscure stat has Jordan's name on top of it or in it. And every player gets compared to his stats. The greatest mid range game of all time. A defensive killer. Clutch in everyway. And all of this was done in the Golden Era of the league, in effectively 14 seasons. Twelve seasons if we only look at his Bulls years. Nearly eleven Bulls years if we take out the majority of his second season that he lost due to a foot injury. That is an insane accumulation of accomplishments and stats in such a relatively average length career. He played all 82 in 9 of those seasons as well. Just imagine the accomplishments and stats he could have accumulated had he played 17, 18, 19 or 20 seasons. Just imagine where he would be sitting on the "all-time" lists. How many more titles and points he would have amassed. Imagine if he doesn't retire for two years in his PRIME or Jerry Krause/Reinsdorf don't kick Phil to the curb at the end of The Last Dance in '98 making MJ's decision to retire again that much easier. That Bulls team had the ability to win 8 straight, maybe more. Just imagine how much higher the benchmarks would have been pushed. It's insane to think about. Also, take this into consideration. LeBron passed Kareem in scoring in year 20. We know this. Great accomplishment. But that is a longevity stat. Kobe, Karl, LeBron and Kareem all sit above Jordan on the scoring list and they all played 20 seasons or more. All with similar scoring totals (obviously). Now think of this, at 14 seasons, respectively, Jordan was ahead of all 4 of them in points. Jordan was nearly 4000 points ahead of LeBron at that point - not to mention he was ahead of LeBron in every statistical category other than assists at that point as well. But if you do the math by his averages, Jordan most likely surpasses Kareem in potentially his 17th season. Years ahead of LeBron. I mean, simply give Jordan back his second season due to injury and the two seasons he retired in his prime, right there is Kareem passing territory. He also most likely catches and surpasses Stockton for all-time steals leader as well. Give him a 20 seasons career, which he would have had if he didn't retire twice, he probably is around 45-46k points, thousands ahead of everyone. So when you look at it that way, it becomes quite clear that Jordan's career and potential was on a whole other level. Not knocking LeBron or anyone else. Greats are great, no matter any way we look at it. But one guy simply towered over the rest in dominate fashion. Perspective tells us that. Luckily I got to see his career unfold. It was a remarkable time to watch basketball. And that isn't just nostalgia talking either. It is just the way it was. Game in and game out. Jordan simply put, is the GOAT.
"You are simply the standard by which basketball excellence is measured." - David Stern
That said, solid reaction! Good to see younger generations appreciating what this man did. Give the ultimate GOAT debate video a shot next. It's a few years old, but it is eye opening.

His vertical was 48.5" measured in college, highest vert in NBA history only one other guy had the same vert forgot his name.
Im 45 grew up in NC, been watching him since UNC when I was real little, I still remember it.
As a old fella, I wore the original shoes when they came out, and let me tell you the originals of all of them were WAY more comfortable than the retro's you get now, the soles were a much softer foam and felt fantastic. I wish they made them the same way, but they make them to resist crumbling now at the expense of comfort. The original 2's were like pillows, but the most comfortable ever made to me personally were the 3's. They were glorious, the retro's are like rocks they do not feel like they used to at all, but still look great.

MJ was also incredibly unselfish. If he was off shooting wise, youd literally see his passing turn up, his defense turn up, and his rebounding turn up. Anything for the Bulls to win.

When Jordan won his first title, he went up against Magic Johnson and the Lakers. He made it a point to pass the ball more and he averaged around 11 assists per game for the series, which went 5 games.
