He was trained by Cus D'amato one of the most brilliant boxing trainers of all time (he trained two other champions before Mike) . On top of that he was just born a freak. He was 200 pounds of muscle at 13 years old. He was knocking out adult amateur heavyweights at 15 years old.

Exactly, it is such a shame cus died so young in his career. I can only imagine how great he could have been. Don king ruined him.

the scariest part of Tyson in the ring was, strength of a heavyweight, speed of a middle weight. most fighters couldn't match his speed

This is one of those videos that you can’t keep your eyes off of.
If you are having a conversation while all of this very devastating action is going on, you are missing out.
Whatever. The era we live in. Bad attention spans prevail over quality.

Training is important, but you can't teach this. Tyson was born a beast. think the only training he needed was how to NOT murder his opponents in the ring, lol.

For a step back from the heavyweights, one of my favorite boxers from back in the day was Marvelous Marvin Haggler. If you want to see an all-out war in the ring, check out Haggler vs Hearns.

Muhammad Ali truly is the greatest. He was a performer in the ring, a heavyweight who fast and powerful. His life story is well worth watching.
He was an amazing man, in and out of the ring.

He was trained by teddy atlas and kevin rooney under the guidance of cus d'amato. there are many video's on youtube about his upbringing and relationship with these guys especially cus and their relationship and training methods. his peek-a-boo style and mike's immense natural raw talent combined to create something that was on another level. When his mindset was good, mike was impossible.

A lot of these knockouts are the 2nd or 3rd time that Tyson had already knocked the down. So a any little hit finishes them off.

Mike tyson was trained by cus D'Amato he adopted him He was a proponent of the peek-a-boo style of boxing, in which the fighter holds his gloves close to his cheeks and pulls his arms tight against his torso, which was criticized by some because it was believed that an efficient attack could not be launched from it.[2][3]

Lower your hands, then get get uppercut.
    You're going down.
60yr old Tyson is still a monster.

Mike was shorter than other heavyweight, but his style of boxing made him close the distance move out of arm s way and expose weak side of opponent, look peekaboo boxing style

Steve thought he was on an episode of Jackass, and not in a fight. Tyson won great, but he also lost great. Weird career but he would probably beat anyone in their prime except may Ali, Foreman, Marciano and Klitschko. But on any given night, could beat anyone. That's why he's revered.
