Rebuilding a 3 Cylinder Diesel Engine / Mitsubishi L3E / No Compression

This Mitsubishi diesel engine had zero compression in the middle cylinder. We tear it down to find out a problem with a valve and do a low cost rebuild on it.

Govenor falling of the fuel pump is a problem on this engine, has probably happend several times before, thats why you Are finding pins in your oil pan.

It happend to my excavator yesterday. Thats how i find your video. The pin securing the govenor to the fuel pump fell off. About 20 min into your video you Are showing the securing pin. After some research i found out this engine Are notorious for having this problem!

Good video, those parts/pieces in the engines seems like sabotage. My guess is someone intentionally put that in the oil fill prior to you buying it. You bought it at auction, people suck. Plus when you first started it up it didn't have any knock...i know it seems ridiculous but how would those peices end up there

That is possible, it isn’t out of the question but I don’t think we will ever know the actual reason.
