Its crazy what people throw away nowadays!! There is a lot of life left in this engine! With A fresh paint job it will be perfect to repower somthing..There was other tractor related stuff in the pile as well maybe I should have went through it all better 🤷. Thanks for watching guys!!
Are we going to get 4k???

@@TheHomePros6221 yeh as in 2160p??
It's currently 1080p!
Quality is quality and you should want your work shown in it's best quality.
Good stuff
@@TheHomePros6221Subscribed as I'm 71 years old and love to 'Pickup ' throne away engines at Scrap yards.
Apparently there are a lot of either Rich Dumbasses or plainly STUPID people out there but my thanks goes out to all of them.
Picked up similar situation on a Diesel Light Truck engine and spent ZERO but new oil & filters on it , put in the truck and stil driving it.
You are my hero! My wife hates when I take stuff to the scrap yard because I usually come back with more than I left with...
Hahah I’m the same way lol esp at this private run scrap yard I just started going to, there’s lots of cool stuff there
Ten four every thing nice when ur poor
Or its was just a good trade.
Going to the dump is like going to the bank ---- make a deposit, make a withdrawal.
I’m definitely going to go dig through my scrap yard…. Hope I can’t find a yanmar too….
WOW! And to think they were gonna melt that down.
Yanmar makes one helluva motor.
They sure do!! I think they are the best along with deutz and then prob kubota
@@TheHomePros6221 IMO, the toughest engine ever made is a two stroke detroit, followed by Ford's tractor engines and an 855 cummins. Kubota and Yanmar are certainly the best in the sub 30 horse market.
Have you ever seen the small (sub 20hp) Lister or Petter diesels?

Nice!
I love getting old engines back up and running!
Yes sir it’s a great feeling!
Another treasure from your favorite place, the junkyard. This just shows what a great benefit it is to know how things work and how to fix them. A very nice engine for free. Such fun to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!!😊
Just love your little pup too! I had a little guy just like him, he was a rescue and I just adored him. 😢
Aww thank you!! He’s my best lil pal
Gotta look at the bright side you might have sprayed oil everywhere but you won't have to worry about the skeeters in the spring.🍻
Hahaha
Can't beat that. Love it when you find something useful in a scrapyard.
You got that right!
Brilliant video. It's always a great feeling when you find a small engine and you can get it running
It sure is!😊😊
Wow! I'm impressed how easily that little diesel started after you got fuel to it.😄 I didn't realize how tiny it is, until I saw your hands around the intake and such, yet they're rated at 14.1 hp.?! That would be nice to repurpose into an old riding mower or a boat of some sort!😉 I don't imagine the fuel shut off solenoid would be terribly expensive?
You and me both!! It started rite up!! It’s only two cylinders but this thing has a ton of torque and it is very heavy I hurt my back trying to lift it with another guy I’m guessing it’s around 250-300 pounds?
This would be nice for a generator. You could change the ratio on the pulleys so the motor runs at low speed. Diesels make lots of torque at low rpm, so 1200 rpm would be good as long as your generator is making the appropriate voltage. These little diesels just sip the fuel. Nice motor.
As always great work. Always look forward to your videos.
I appreciate that thank you my friend!
Maybe that motor spent a little time upside down? Just a guess. As always, well worth the wait for one of your vids!!! Thanks for sharing bro!!!
Yes I think so as well. Thank you very much my friend!!
Mr Home Pro, really glad you saved that engine from the furnace , where as the scrap metal, not much use is now being recycled into something of use , WIN,WIN outcome. Great work, regards Rob.
thank you so much rob
Was told long ago to put your fingers in em to turn em on ! Boy were they wrong ! Thanks Darrell !
Always look forward to your uploads brother. Looks like you have an excellent transplant for other projects. What a smooth runner with a little cleaning up. It was spotless under the valve cover. Hope things are good your way!!!
Thank you very much Alex!! I always like watching your videos as well I hope you do a video or a short opening up that kawasaki engine to see the carnage 😁 thanks for watching brother!!
@@TheHomePros6221 thank you. I’ll be doing a full video on the tear down and hopefully rebuild.
That was awesome. You have skills my friend.
Thank you very much!
SAVED means it will run!
I Love how you clean it first most guys are scared. Thanks
Also looked like shaft was bent.
Thanks 👍 the shaft is straight someone welded some goofy pulley contraption to it
That's really awesome Darrell. Great finds. Also a great video. Thanks for bringing us along. Can't wait to see what is next. I never miss one of your awesome videos.
That means so much jeff!! I truly appreciate viewers like you!! I wouldn’t be making these videos as they take a ton of work, without support from viewers such as yourself! I have a good buisness (the home pros) fixing up houses but I have pretty much stopped doing that to make this my full time job
@@TheHomePros6221 I am so happy to hear you say that because I always thought that you could make a career out of making videos. What a great find.
Thank you! I think so as well
When I saw your Silverado, I did a double take...yours looks mint....mine is rusty and crusty. Kind Regards. Craig
It’s been a very good truck!! No rust at all😊
💗it. No need to put it back in the scrapyard.
Why would anyone throw it away in the first place?? 🤷
Tie the engine down onto some 4x2 or larger timber beams........
Always secure fuel line before starting engines.
Always turn over "new" engines by hand before applying an electric starter...
gotcha I pretty much did all that 😊
Nothing better than free stuff to make work again! You made a great haul alos with the transaxle,
You got that right! thank you!
What a fascinating little engine! I'm thinking one that small would be interesting in a motorcycle.
Sure would but would need a transmission
Man!! You can’t beat that brother!! That’s PHENOMENAL!! I bet to replace that engine it would run you at the very least a couple or 2 to $ 3000 wouldn’t you think so? Also you possess some very competent/skillful and or valuable content! I among others greatly appreciate you!!
Thank you so much brother I truly appreciate that.. means a lot 🙂
i enjoy watching you videos glad you got the old diesel engine running and i like you little puppy too glad you was able to put that on youtube job will done
aw thank you! he’s my lil pal he goes pretty much everywere I go 😊
Subscribed. This engine seems to have been scraped possibly due to an operator error that trashed the donating machine as the core of this engine seems to be almost pristine. What an awesome find. I am converting everything to diesel and collect them whenever I can.
Thank you so much!! Considering all the other stuff that was in the same pile it looked like someone Mayr have cleaned out a old shed maybe cause they bought some property and all this stuff was left in it
One of thee best motors…. Wish they’d come up with a 6 cylinder or a V-8 for a Truck.
me too
Great find.
😊👍
Love your videos i have an old yazoo 76” and can’t find blades and a ransoms 60” 3 wheeler both with old kohler 25 hp both still run wanting to recon them. I will keep watching you until you work on one like those😂👍
Did you see the ransomes videos I put out?
You need a concrete pad to work on, so you can wash stuff, without making mud and have a cleaner place to work on. Is that concrete @ 4:58?
Oh how I would love that!! I have plans on building a nice shop with concrete and all
Well Done Sir! So Interesting to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love watching you work on stuff!

So good to see you back making videos like what you do
I appreciate that! I try it just takes along time to make some of these videos I have like 3 projects I’m recording now just finished one but the editing takes forever
when suspecting a flooded cylinder (oil or coolant),I remove valve cover and over tighten intake and exhaust valve valve adjusters by .010-.120 them crank the liqud can now escape. Reset to proper clearance prior to start attempt.
Great tip!
Boy, you’ve got a way with engines! Very impressive!
thank you!!
Generator head making full power just above idle. Running on 50/50 veg preheated fuel with a glow in the line on a pop switch oh yeah.
Sounds good
my hero
Hahahahaha😂
Another famous face showing up! Love both your channels
Nice find😊
Thanks 👍
If you plan on storing that engine take the injectors out and put some oil into the cylinders and plug all open spots on the engine so you don't get mouse 🐁 getting in and peeing in it that will destroy that good engine the oil in the cylinders will keep it from locking up if your in the cold climate you will need to drain out the block there should be drain plugs. That's cool you found a good engine and a rear end in the strap yard 👍 for even trade you can't go wrong with that 👍. I would put gear lube or even oil in that rear end so it doesn't rust the inside and all the gears that's so cool that both are in good shape.
Me and you think very much alike 👍😊
Love your channel
Love my viewers! ❤️
Far as I’m concerned you made a couple thousand bucks that day. Good job man I have a three cylinder Janmar in my little John Deere. It was made in 1986 and it has over $4500 on it. I use Amsoil and I use a superior filtration system also anyway, I can go out there 1520° weather just hit the key and it pops right off
Oh wow! They are made to last👍
I meant to say 4500 hours on my little engine and anyway believe it or not I do between 901,000 hour oil changes but I change my oil filters bought every 200 hours 250 maybe the first filter is be like the frame PHA only it’s a Donaldson filterand my second filter is bigger than that and it filters down to 2 µm. It’s a bypass filter I can go out there in a dead winter time and that thing don’t roll over three or four times and it starts no ether hit the key and go.
Tygon is the best line I have found also. Made in Ohio near me.
I think so as well cause ethanol destroys other hoses
I really like your videos. Problem is, you gotta post them. You post them, I'll watch them. Thanks for sharing with us.
thank you my friend, I’m trying some of these vids take a long time to make

MM77 Approved 👍🏻👍🏻………………………………………🤔hummmmm………… can he fix a scrapped Yanmar engine……….. YEP!!!!!! LOL
hahah 😊😊 thanks again for watching my friend!!
What a great find and fix well done. 👍👏👏🚜👏👏👍

You might want to make sure both injectors are functioning properly. When you accelerated the engine it sounded like at one point your engine ran different. You could use a infrared meter to make sure both are running the same temp.
I really really need an infrared thermometer!! but it seems like the engine runs perfect
Great video, waiting on the next one, thanks and keep them comin.
Thanks, will do!
What lucky finds!

Great job and find there mate.

You Haft to Put a small Turbo on that., double the Output Power, Make a little dozer.
I have been seriously considering this!! I actually should have added one in this video!
Great find, Darrell..😊👍
But I hope you never have to change the engine in that excavator....they have certainly shoe horned the engine in there, and have left zero room for manoeuvre...man, it looksa tight fit!
Great video as always, buddy....looking forward to the next one...😊👍
thank you Dave! it sure is tight but if you remove the counter weight it shouldn’t be that bad 🤷 thanks for watching
Get a hydraulic pump to match between those two, with a proportioning valve, and then you're just a go-cart chassis away from a yard run-about.
Yes that would be sweet!
Excellent save
Glad you like it
nice use it in a boat
It would be perfect for that
it dont need no muffler! run it as is!

I appreciate that! I want to put more vids out as well but it takes a ton of work and time to make these videos 😩
SIR, that was a good job. I like to pressure wash engines before working too, helps to see other possible problems as well. That sounds very well. Do you know how much horsepower it has ?
me to! it’s like 10hp but tons of torque
Bro, you should try the gloves i use, the blue ones maxidex , they are very useful on wet and oily mechanics, if you can find them, you should try😉
Thank you I’ll def check em out!!🙂
An old John Wayne movie "Chisum" Pat Garrett tells William Bonney, he has the Patients of an oyster, I believe the same could be said about you
😊
I worked at a scrap yard for a while. If you needed something it was just a matter of time and it would show up. I think a lot of it is because grandpa past away and some of it was just 2 "sticky" but 99% was some 16-25 year old trying not to have a job
Lol
I see the badge on top says Ingersoll Rand. I wonder if it was originally on an air compressor.
it was actually on a thermoking reefer unit off a truck
Great motor for a generator
Yes sir
That runs great!!
sure does
Can you use that engine to modify a gas motorbike?😂 a big hug bro
haha probably 🤷

Maybe Ants Pants needs one for his Yanmar.
haha I think he needs a final drive more than a engine 😊
@@TheHomePros6221 no, he needs a whole new undercarriage
I wonder why someone decided to pull and throw away a perfectly good engine?
The way it looked to me is probably someone bought some property and there was all this stuff left at it and the new owners junked it all, there was other good stuff that I would have liked to get as well
Hard to believe your good luck find a good running engine in the scrap yard.
I know rite!
That's crazy i think someone aborted a project and took it to the junkyard instead of selling it for what one would give for it and make them happy. I would make a bet there's nothing wrong with the transaxle . You just got a new sub .
yea me to cause the tractor was in peices and it looks like they were trying to make this engine work in it or somthing. one other guess is someone got some property and this may have been on the property and they took it all to the dump🤷
Interesting, the starter looks like a Mitsubishi unit.
it does🧐
I've heard you're not supposed to pour oil through the valve cover on these yanmars, maybe that's why it's hydrolocking (I know it's silly since they have the cap on the valve cover)
You can pour oil in the top or in the injection pump, it hydrolocked because it was most likely tipped upside down and oil got in cylinders
That engine would make an awesome motorbike engine.
Sure would!
Why was it in the scrap yard? No real magic getting it going…amazing find!
I guess they were cleaning up a property or somthing??
