First class work, as I've come to expect. If (when...) that gearbox on the deck starts leaking, you can use corn head grease in it instead of gear oil. Tractor Supply should have it. It's a light grease that get's very fluid when up to operating temp but thick enough not to leak so much.

Another brilliant resurrection. That certainly is one robust machine. I love how you can take off an old part like that hydraulic cylinder, disassemble it, and rebuild it with new parts and have it as good as new. Because back in the day you got real quality. Try that with the tin can and plastic junk made today. You used to buy a machine and it was built like a tank. Now you get something that has Bluetooth and a cup holder for your soy latte but falls apart in a strong wind. Sad. I am also fascinated by the collection of tools you have for your projects. And the ones you craft yourself. Very interesting. I always enjoy your great videos and look forward to the next monstrosity that needs your help. I vote that you do decide to paint this treasure. Something this impressive deserves to look good too.

This machine cost whatever organization bought it years ago a huge pile of money (taxpayers or whomever) so it's great to see you pulling it from the jaws of the shredder. Some basic maintenance would have kept it in service many more years but I guess it's easy to give up on something that a company or municipality is okay with just replacing! A quality machine like this is almost endlessly rebuildable, as you proved. Outstanding video, my friend. Very inspiring.

Worst enemy to a deck is not removing cuttings from the top of the deck. The cuttings left will cause a chemical reaction and literally start eating the metal. Why didn’t I say causes rust it is in a sense it is caustic rusting. Looks like you have a mowing “Beast”! Good to see the ole girl doing her job!

Yeah man those mowers are good ones. The main thing vis to keep on top of maintenance on them basically is all. And it'll last for A long time to. Just like you said I'd paint back green again why not right. After all that's what the original color of it was to begin with. I think it was Forest Green.,or emerald Green.,or Hunter Green we're the paint color codes that was used on those green lawnmowers back then. Cause A lot of them was sprayed powder coated and sprayed clear coat and sealer. I've seen them being sprayed with mixed green powder coating with metallic flakes. In both of the paint and the clear coating sealer together. As the new paint jobs on them. I think it was like Three of them was repainted differently colors though. Two different green ones and one yellow.,or orange colored one to with metallic flakes.

Just fyi, on pouring the 5 gallon hydraulic oil when it is full. When you have the can on its side to pour, If you rotate the can so the spout is at the top instead of having it at the bottom of the pour, it will not spill so much over the can. Nice work. You do a great job of filming and I like your process.

Great camera angles and patience getting them. Do you have a good hydraulics shop around you or do you just get out the calipers to see what size seals you need. Our only hydraulics shop closed down and its 2 hours to the nearest one.

My rottweiler tore his acl also but that only happened when he had bone cancer in that leg. He died shortly after that and now 3 months later I am still seriously grieving. Not breaking into tears so far today. I am old and my poor pup did not deserve this darn it. My wife says he is in doggy heaven and I certainly pray so. I still talk to him. I am a sad case.

@@PaulHigginbothamSr I’m very sorry my friend, I feel your pain and I know it hurts, I’m going through the same thing and I just don’t understand why this world can be so cruel and why things like this happen. I had another shar-pei I show him briefly in the video called small excavator vs big tree stump or somthing like that, and he passed away during a very small surgery on his leg, he shouldn’t have died the way he did and I still think of him everyday and can’t seem to forgive the vet that did the surgery and still blame them, and now I’m dealing with this with my other female shar pei and she needs major surgery on her leg and it’s very expensive and they said it’s high risk for infection because of her skin. I love my dogs so much more than anything and I wish they could live forever. It breaks my heart to hear about your loss because I know how much pain your going through and I’m very sorry my friend, if you need anyone to talk to I’m all ears, but just try to remember that he loved you and you gave him the best life you could, take care 🙂

The Rotating flow divider works as a differential locker, when going straight forward it splits the flow equal to the drive motors. The switch on the steering cylinder activate the solenoid opening for free flow betwen motors (open differential) so you can take a sharp turn without damage the Grass.

Only comment, when installing circlips, rounded surface goes towards the pressure. Sharp edges away from the pressure.
That way the pressure pushes the sharp edge into the locking groove.
Best wishes from the far North.

Sorry about your dog tearing her ACL.
We had the same problem with a large dog years ago. Vet wanted mega bucks for surgery and gave us a poor prognosis particularly due to the fact that she was a large dog. Apparently those Surgical outcomes are better with smaller dogs.
Obviously in pain/ discomfort or they would not be limping. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Fortunately after several months our dog stopped limping. She adapted to it quite well and lived for several years only to develop discoid lupus which eventually led to putting her down. Sweet dog.
