Sonic 1: eggman stole the chaos emeralds and captured animals to put them inside machines
Sonic chaos: eggman is making war weapons.
Eggman already has committed multiple war crimes and eggman making a nuke honestly doesn't seem surprising(for the archi comics anyway)

Loved this game as a kid. Probably cos it was so easy and short. Made me feel like I was good at it.
After playing 8-bit Sonic 2 an easier game definitely hits the spot.

Sonic Triple Trouble is my favorite Game Gear game out of all of them since it's a more balanced experience in terms of difficulty compared to 2 and Chaos. Along with 1, Triple Trouble is just fun to play. I also like a lot of the tracks in that game. Sunset Park Zone's music is especially my favorite.
Excited to play that one.

When I was in school, we had a book fair. To do something new I saved up to buy a few books.
This was in Scotland, and I remember how proud mother was, she told everyone that her son was such a nerd he wanted books with his pocket money.
Long story short I spent my savings on three game gear games instead of the books, it broke her heart, one of those games was this.
The other one was a zelda ii clone the other was psychic world, with psychic world I lucked out though.
One the hardest playthroughs, my mother cursed them lol

QotD: Sonic Triple Trouble. I'm not even entirely sure why I love it so much, but when it comes to Game Gear titles I always find myself coming back to it.
Loved this game as a kid because it was so much better by Sonic 2 for the Game Gear, just by virtue of being completely average.

A+Start is a content creator on top of being behind the Sonic Chaos remake. The guy's content is miles more professional than mine, and even where i'm at it's hard to do anything else aside from work on videos all day. If that's any indication, he'll get to it when he can.

underrated channel
I had this as like my first Sonic game as a kid, and used to play it for as long as the batteries lasted, desperately rubbing batteries against fuzzy blankets to get a charge because we were poor, lol. For years, the longest I got was the water level, and finally, in 2009, I finally beat the game on one full charge of batteries, and my GameGear promptly died for good on the "And Special Thanks to You" screen, and that always stuck with me.

in my head this takes place after Sonic triple trouble on the island from the opening of Sonic CD and Eggman wants to roboticize it so when Little Planet returns he can take control of it and create the ultimate base

I don't see it that way. This game is so average it was disappointing. Wasn't a more fair challenge than Sonic 2, wasn't as well designed as Sonic 1. It's smack dab in average land.

In my opinion, because Shadow was canonically first created, he's the one that first had rocket shoes. However, I'm not sure if Sonic would have had a way to know about Shadow or his shoes, so it could just be a case of two people coming up with the same product/solution independently, which yeah, it happens.
Starting to feel that green hill zone fatigue yet? When people ask why we are so upset about seeing green hill zone again ...its because we've seen it far too many times. Great review though....sooo..sonic spinball review next? Or maybe sonic pocket adventure?

Mecha Green Hill zone (hell yeah that soundtrack) shouldn't be called a "green hill zone" here. For one it isn't green, it has an entirely different aesthetic of level design, it's not a first level and it's not beginner friendly.
It's "green hill" only in name.
Shadow dosn't need his rocket boots to go fast but he has to wear them because..well....no one needs to see shadow or any sonic character's feet.

It is now technically possible to create a full Sonic game comprised of nothing but past Green Hill Remakes for all 8 levels and STILL not cover every single Green Hill remake.

after watching this video i kinda want to get sonic chaos, btw I was watching this video in the dark and i wasnt paying attetion to the video so when i heard the sonic CD US boss music play i basically had a heart attack
Sonic Colors DS very little people give it the praise it deserves literally every issue I had with the Wii version isn’t in that version like slow platformimg, crappy story, the cube wisp, and no good final boss and this version also is more fast pace

Here's a trick: Finish a level with exactly 10 rings and with 24 seconds or less, to get the max speed (999km/h) and a extra life (don't work in some levels like Gigalopolis)

eggman needs to bulid his park at Planet Earth.
With a couple exceptions (couple of the bosses and emeralds) my main prob with the game was it just wasn't challenging enough, on the first run I flew through the game and got to the final zone. Not a cheap game either with a retail price of £25. I ended up doing self-imposed challenges to get a little more out of it by beating the bosses without rings or taking the underwater routes as much as I could on zone 5. btw on the 2nd zone boss you get a harder version(he has an extra segment) depending which pipe you go through just before reaching him. It's alright but felt like it could have been better if they spent more time and TLC on some of the level design.
btw know what's funny? Sonic is (according to the cartoons at least) the "fastest thing alive" yet at the end of this game he chases the obese and middle-aged Robotnik on foot yet is unable to catch him.

It's sort of redundant to mention how good music is at this point, we all know these games sound amazing.
On the plus side u can recollect ur rings in Sonic chaos. It gave me pain when i had to recollect all the rings i had in Sonic 1 and 2 Master system
