Star Bird 🦢 they had other games before it, I think it was just their first game under the name Dimps, before that they also made sonic pocket adventure and some other stuff
I think the reason as to why Sonic 4 sucks generally is that during its development, Sonic Colours was also being made, and Dimps had to work on two games, Sonic 4 Ep1 and Sonic Colours DS, and considering Colours is a mainstream title with more to work with, they put more effort into that game, leaving Sonic 4 in the dust, and it clearly shows. I might've enjoyed Sonic 4 for a little bit, but I played Sonic Colours DS non-stop.
But that phrase, "to do something in advance" means to do something a period of time BEFORE another event. So your suggestion wouldn't make any sense unless he was reviewing the game seventeen years before it released... which I could only imagine that being possible with something like Half Life 3. Lol
I really don't know, but that's what it looked like. It's not like he could have gotten lost, the Earth is close enough to the moon for there to be little to no confusion. And I doubt it just took him a while to get back since he's pretty fast. Sonic was just being a moody teenager I guess.
@@Garrulous64 i think it was a further prove to the infinite power of the emeralds (yet some stupid idiots still think sonic needs 50 rings to go super) because it was kinda vauge in sonic adventure.
Ah such a blast from the past for me, I said in the sonic advance revamped video for sage 2018 this was one the first game I ever played and I loved it, wasn't good at it but loved it.
I really enjoyed Amy's playstyle, precisely because it added a new challenge. I'm also really glad some awesome rom hackers created versions of the classic Mega Drive games with Amy's moveset ported over, they're really fun too. It's weird, I suck at a lot of games and rarely go for hard modes, but certain ones like playing as Amy, or the hard modes on GBA Metroids work really well.
@pixel girl. I too enjoyed Amy's gameplay for similar reasons, especially since her having an entirely unique moveset that recicles none of Sonic's moves is something I felt added a stronger incentive to play as her than Tails or Knuckles. IMO, she was the best character to play as in Advance thanks to her superior hammer attacks and jumping skills. Personally, the only people that have a problem with her are those players that rely on the spindash to start building speed.
At 12:39 you said, and I quote, “The GBA housed a lot of my favorite art styles, to be honest, and I don’t know if that’s more of a nostalgia thing talking.” I can tell you that no, that is definitely *not* nostalgia talking because I never played those games as a kid, seeing as I was born in the 2000s but I still adore the art styles and music in all of those games.
Wow I guess everyone hates hard mode. Personally, I wouldn't mind a character that can't spin - I encourage it. We have enough characters that can do everything Sonic can do.
Strong Normals/LightSpeedDash Well j hate hard mode if I think it's unnecessary. like Zelda ocarina of time 3d doesn't need a hard mode the standard game is already challenging enough.
@@imdone8243 oh that's awesome. Ya well I'm was terrible at it. Then yet again some games hard mode is easy to some. Ex. I think Sonic boom fire and ice hard mode is easy. Or some might find Tabuu in brawl hard due to that instant kill attack.
I actually liked that Amy couldn't spin. It allowed the developers to craft a moveset that wasn't just an easy copy and paste spin attack, giving more focus on what Amy CAN do that others CAN'T. Hard-mode? Perhaps to those who aren't particular fans of Amy. A hinderance? No.
I love playing this game as Amy. Her move set is so different than the others and actually a lot better if you get a handle on it. Her jumping hammer swing has a huge range, and her super jump is so fun! I'd love to see 2d Amy return in Sonic Mania 2
Man, this video sends me back. I used to play this game religiously when I was a kid, it was my first taste of sonic and it instantly got me hooked. though i find it kinda crazy how i somehow never found out about sonic's airdash in this game until about a decade later
Dude, same. I only noticed it was a thing because of the video I used to find the special stages. I had to visit Sonic Retro to figure out how to do it.
I was in 6th grade when I had this game. Back in the days where you get a new game every 6 months. I managed to beat this game with all the characters and played the hell out of the chao garden to where I bought all the instruments and goodies they sold there.
10:03 "Wait I got it... Knuckles *doesn't wear yellow gloves!"* Technically he kinda did in Sonic Adventure, they were called "Fighting Gloves". But those were more of an optional "upgrade" and they don't do much other than give Knuckles his own equivalent to Sonic's Homing attack.
Amy's Hammer Jump is extremely useful in the ice zone boss, she doesnt need to jump onto the platforms to breathe, the Hammer Jump sends her just over the water line Also, the spindash replacement is essentially a tackle, the slide on the ground damages enemies it hits It's definitely not as useful as the spin dash, but it has its charm and makes Amy's gameplay more unique The problem is that anyone picking up the game would think Amy is the Designated Easy Mode of the game, since her Adventure story and Team Rose's story in Heroes were both the Easy Mode, but in Advance, shes pretty much the hard mode Playing as her is interesting though since it goes from a Sonic speed-based platformer to an actual traditional platformer with Sonic-style levels, where you have to consider your movements much more carefully
Yeah, the New Testament is actually a lot more of a retcon/reboot of the rules of the Old Testament, as opposed to being a sequel, lol That being said, a New Super Old Testament game series would be funny.
My personal head canon is that Super Sonic spent those extra days in space to collect rings so that he could actually make it back to Earth?/Mobius? since he was short on them after defeating Eggman
Personally I like Amy's gameplay style. The entire point of her playstyle is knowing the level design and really your doing the exact same thing as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, the only key difference is approaching obstacles differently. Amy also completely destroys every single boss in the game with ease. I just find it a bit offputting that people only write her off solely because she doesn't do what the other three can already do rather than view her as her own character with her own strengths and weaknesses. It really comes off as an inability to view past surface level complaints. Really Amy's only real problem for me is the lack of spin-dash can make getting to certain places annoying, but otherwise I adapt just fine with her. Any time I'd go back to play this game I'd just exclusively go to play Amy, only using Tails and Knuckles for Chaos emeralds or just for fun. It's funny because her playstyle is her Sonic Adventure playstyle in the 2D realm, but improved over what her Adventure gameplay lacked. You'd think people would give credit to that considering Amy's always put in a damned if she does or doesn't situation. If anything I find Sonic to be the worst character outside of first timers or people who want a more traditional experience. Otherwise there's no reason to use Sonic when Amy's versatile and handles bosses the best, and Tails/Knuckles have everything Sonic has but are just better. Sonic also suffers the worst at fighting bosses as they take longer to kill and has to resort to a much slower method when dealing with them, especially the Ice Mountain boss.
