    I think this video did a good job I was showing what I experience as a fitter on a daily basis. Shaft companies have massively over marketed the effect of the shaft on the results of the ball, but as this testing shows the difference is in the consistency of strike. What I tell people on a regular basis is that the shaft creates a consistent and comfortable feel that will make your ball striking more consistent which will result in better distance, however, the driver head ultimately will determine your potential distance with the launch and spin. As far as ball flight goes, the shaft makes up 3 to 5% of what happens to the ball. The driver head itself, between the center of mass and the loft, will make up 95 to 97% of what happens to the ball.

      And I feel the CONSISTENCY is what is almost never talked about
      Getting stronger and more flexible, I needed a stiffer/heavier shaft. What I was shocked by was how tight the dispersion is on my new clubs. Hard to put into words how much easier, more confident, and consistent those new shafts have immediately made my game.
      I’m also not COMPENSATING with a weird swing to avoid my slice/fade miss anymore, which liberates me to actually swing at the golf ball rather than just trying to manage the club path to avoid disaster

    • @jazzyjay4595
      @jazzyjay4595 Год назад

      @@BigDawgCAM that’s the beauty of fitting. A lot of my clients come and think I’m going to fix their swing. I always hear “my swing sucks so there’s probably not much you can do. A new drivers not gonna help me” and I remind them that I am simply modifying the equipment you play to get you the best performance possible out of that bad swing. There’s not many genuinely “bad” swings that I see. A lot of it is just bad golf. Picking the wrong club, aiming at the middle of the fairway, trying to make birdies, none of those have to do with the swing but will save you strokes

    I have a the 65g Tensie 1k Black X Stiff, in my Sim2 Max. And Man I love it. Went to this set-up from an 18year old Callaway driver with a R flex. It's night and day. My club head speed is around 110-115mph and it made all the difference. By far the most forgiving, yet straight drivers/set-ups I've ever swung.

    Brilliant comparison Michael. I got fit last week from TSi3 with Tensei X-flex to TSR3 with 1K black S-Flex. Swing speed 109 and saw an incredible improvement in dispersion and a few extra yards. Your a mind reader as I had gone to your videos after my fitting to see if you had done a TSR shaft comparison. Looking forward to getting the new driver soon and seeing if it translates on the course. Loving the reviews keep them coming.

    Running a stealth and after multiple different shafts I ended up with a tensei blue 55 stiff. Ball speed in the 160's and most control I've had. I can take it easy and can really attack when I want to with it. Where as with a heavier low spin low launch options I had to attack all the time.

    The averages are so close, this could almost be used as evidence that the shaft doesn't matter.
    Jack Nicklaus said in his book that most golfers can just go buy any set off the rack, and after a few rounds, be good to go.
    It would be interesting to see the difference between your "perfect" shaft and a shaft which contributes to wildly erratic distances and ball flights.

      What is your driver swing speed and what are you using now?
      Ive had 21 drivers in 3 years and mixed and matched shafts. It really is trial and error.
      Have you used a launch monitor to see swing path?
      I used to hit down causing too much back and side spin. No shaft can fix that. I did find that shaft weight and whether counterbalanced suited me but I still have 4 different drivers and each married to a different shaft. Only thing common is playing length.
      It's a journey, but ive seen plenty of old boys with 20yo drivers hitting the fairways everytime..

    Instead of saying "faster swing speed", you should say "a quicker transition in your backswing". Also, you did say "less twisting of the head". These are better descriptors than, "better player", "faster swing speed" or "suited to my swing speed".

  • @mikerichardson8983
    @mikerichardson8983 Год назад

    It's looks to me that your typically hitting most of the balls low on the club. I've heard that it's better to hit the ball higher rather than lower on the face, because the center of gravity on the new drivers needs to be hit below the center of gravity of the golf ball. Which means that a high strike would be better than a lower strike?

      Not correct. It proves that someone with the skills and repeatable swing can hit and deliver similar results with any shaft. Ego has nothing to do with weight, when you get to low singles or plus cap, it’s the weight and flex that tighten dispersion, but everyone at that level of cap can get ball speed and spin to be within 5% with any shaft,

      Absolutely is correct, your basing your comment on what a teaching professional can do with the S flex shaft. My comment is based on the average golfer which im guessing was the target audience for the video in the first place. average golfers will always choose the heaver and stiffer shaft because trackman says so whereas i bet the 50g shaft would be ideal for most if not all average golfers.
