Love this comparison ross. I currently play hzrd black 70s in driver love the feel/strike but feel as i need softer tip but not CB. For irons found modus did this for me.
Thank you for the video. I’m about to buy a new Titleist driver and these two shafts are my options. I have a 50g tensei in my current ping and I always hook my driver and I have a fast swing swing speed so I’ll definitely be going with the black 60. Cheers
I normally play a mid launch type shaft in a Stiff Flex. I have the Hzrdus Black in a Utility iron in a Regular Flex....it's straight and in the reg flex, I can get it in the air easily. I have a Gen 4 Black in Stiff in a Cobra driver I also own and I hit it a bit lower and deffo wants to drift more to the right. I'm wondering, would the same Gen 4 in a Reg Flex be better suited to improve launch and lessen the drift to the right. I have grip weights and counter-weighted the shaft by around 30g. I also tweaked the loft up a degree and it made the shaft playable although i felt I lost a bit of distance in doing this. I think for this particular shaft, the Stiff is just too boardy for me. I am keen to try the Reg in the same driver to see the difference. Any advice greatly appreciated 🙂 I should add...my bad shot is left so my thought process is a lower launching but softer flex will help keep the lower spin and also keep me away from the left side of the course.
Fist off, this is super helpful. Shocked the red is even in the same ballpark given your swing profile. I have a 104-108 swing speed, and have the tsr3 hzd black. I gain a ton of distance when I hit the black well, but lose so many balls sliced right. The shaft feels like wood and I can’t turn it over. What TSR shaft would you go with? The dispersion on the red seems like a trade off for being able to turn it over.
Most people probably wouldn't feel masses if difference as they are both very stiff profiles designed to do a similar thing. I would say the Ventus Black would probably be a little stiffer in the handle, a little softer in the middle and a little stiffer in the tip when compared to the HZRDUS. The HZRDUS black definitely had a bit of a slower taper rate though so actually feels a little bigger in the hands too.
Hello. I’m 43 and have a +/- 95mph swing speed. For the TSr2, which do you think will suit better, the CB red 60, the TENSEI AV Blue 55, or the HZRDUS Black 4G. All in stiff. Thank you!
Really you just want to have a good test with them all and see which works best for youm theoretically I'd say the Tensei Blue and HZRDUS Red would be better....but you never know until you try!
On the whole probably not. It would be more down to profile than brand I would say as every brand generally now has a lot of different offerings. But it is at the stiffer end of the spectrum.
How does the hzrdus black compare to Ventus black non TR? I’m using Ventus x stiff now inch short .. might be too stiff, same swing speed as you in this video but you are a bit smoother 😂
Probably not too different in all honesty in terms of feel and numbers will be close as they are similar design and shafts don't change launch and spin too much anyway
question ? would the HZRDUS SMOKE RED RDX suit me ... 59 years old.....8 handicap....90-94 mph driver speed CURRENTLY using a UST PROFORCE V2 HL regular shaft and i like it am wanting to get a 13.5 degree 3 wood and was wondering if the HZRDUS SMOKE RED RDX would be a good fit as i hit a high ball to begin with ?....was thinking in the 5.5 flex....i am unable to test clubs so am ordering on line....was this shaft or the FUJI Ventus red TR.......would really like your thoughts...cheers from Alberta
Hi there! Well with the RDX I'm not so sure. Didn't do too well with that shaft. But for some reason the new gen HZRDUS Red CB seems brilliant for that swing speed in the 5.5. it's light but not soft, and just feels very comfortable to swing. I've seen some great results with it in the bay. So I'd so go CB over RDX
Ordering a new aerojet ls since the ltdx ls is a little more right than I like on misses. And I can't decide between the gen4 black 6.5 or the rdx blue 6.5 😭😭😭
I’m playing a ping g430 max 10.5 tour stiff and feel like it’s far too high launch and spin . Playing in Uk and with wind into a lot . Will need to try but I like the idea of the gen4 black . I’m around 100mph . Could that suit do you think ?
It could mate yes, go 60g 6.0 but unfortunately if you want to lower that spin the shaft won't do much, you'll need to look at changing the head, that's what creates the most in terms of launch and spin. And Ping heads have always been super high launching and high spinning. So if you're changing shaft to get the launch and spin down then save your money on a shaft and go get fitted for a new head 👍
@@epgolfstudios thank you . I could lower the loft down to 9 degrees on the ping and see what difference that makes . I had the g410 max in 10.5 and didn’t find it this high spin
It really is trial and error. I havent found a better shaft for my driver than the hzrdus yellow smoke and my SS is only 98mph.... The cynic in me thinks the biggest change is the graphics in new gens.
Yes RDX isn't very dissimilar to the GEN4 red tbh, not quite as counterbalanced prob only difference. What about 6.5? Do you mean compared to the 6.0? Numbers won't change at all really, will literally just feel slightly stiffer, that would be the only difference. What that does for you would be different from person to person. But with these being shorter I wouldn't want them playing any stiffer for me personally.
Thanks, great info. I recently got fitted by 2 different fitters. First fitted me in a zx5 LS with RDX red 6.5, second fitted me in a zx7 with smoke black in 6.5. Also first fitted me in x-stiff irons and second in stiff irons. Super confused now haha
Love these comparisons 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tested the tsr2 with the stock options. The red cb seemed easier to swing. I struggle w negative angle of attack.
Yes the Red is definitely an easier shaft to swing ..... Well I've got a great video on how to hit up on the ball more 😉
