I’m getting one in January, can’t wait, I road tested one for about 5-6 hours and had a blast didn’t want to stop, now I’m going nuts waiting, I think the only change I’m making is the Corbin under the seat tag kit and some slip on mufflers and do away with the cat, S&S has a nice kit, enjoy and thanks for the video
I built a 2002 hd hugger i got for $1800 w/2400 miles on it into a street tracker I put rev perf 1250 kit I flowed the 883 heads Mikuni carb 19” frt rear wheels w/ goodyear eagle DT tires Storz tank sub frame rear fender seat and seat pad Flat track style bars Super trap pipes Really fast
I've got a deposit on one. First things I plan on doing are changing the exhaust, doing a rear fender delete, and making a set of frame sliders. . . . First brand new bike I've ever bought.
I prefer the old board tracker in the background personally, it would be cool if they went back to their roots and released a model that was a reproduction of the originals.
Just got myself a 2019 for $8990 brand new . Came out to more than that after adding in the extra 5 years of bumber to bumber coverage and wheel and tire coverage but thats more for my peace of mind. All in all still a good deal
I'm getting the base version, mostly because I hate the gold forks and soon-to-be-outdated infotainment system. I want it blacked out, timeless and analog.
Analog...blacked out...blah...blah. Sounds like a typical "bro bike". Ya know, the convo between two bros goes "hey, bro. I blacked out my bike. Oh, cool bro. I blacked out my bike too". Boring...
If I'm riding a bike like a dick in the corners, I want an analog speedo that I can read out the corner of my eye. If they added an analog tach next to it, that would make my day.
I put $1,000 down on my FTR, and this will be my first street bike. Took my class and got my class M license. This bike spoke to me so hard that it got me off my ass and ready to ride on the road.
I’m getting the race replica , I have a deposit .. first I’m getting some bar end mirrors , not sure which ones , motogadget just released a bunch of glassless ones that look really clean and then there’s the old crg arrows that look awesome. Then I’m getting this fender eliminator kit that a company in Switzerland already designed and looks really good. I’m waiting on the Roland sands slip on that’s suppose to come out in June . I think SS is making a airbox for the bike. And I’ll prob get the carbon fiber rear cowl cover from Indian when I get the bike and get the front wheel fender down the road. Really hoping asv comes out with some c5 shorty levers for the bike but they said they have no plans on designing some for that bike right now but mayb down the road they will after release.
They do need a proper duel sport motorcycle. Maybe look similar to this but more of a setup for off road. Guards around the radiator. Dirt bike rims. High fairings etc
Dan, Why you would you waste your money on building a Sportster into a flat tracket? HD Racing team hasn't won a race against IMC racing team in recent years.
Harley hasnt even been racing really. They outsourced their race team and have them on a shitty XG750. They have put zero effort into flat track in years
I've also had the itch for this bike but I'm not 100% sure. I have to sit on it and feel it. Not sure I like that low plastic looking housing with an exposed line (cooling?) sitting in front/bottom of the engine @4:54 .
Definitely want one but will wait to take a rest ride first of course. May even trade in the victory for it. Can’t wait to see what Vance and Hines does as well.
All the floor demo units out now have been "deactivated" in some way. You can fiddle with buttons and levers and whatnot, but they won't run. Probably more than a few critical pieces either missing or replaced with dummy modules. No working ECU, no ride modes.
I hope Vance and hance makes a high mount exhaust like the S&S on the prototype FTR, cuz I know you’ll end up getting it and we could all check it out. Lol
Diego Alvarez S&S already made a high mount exhaust for the ftr1200 production version there just keeping all there releases quiet. It looks amazing on the bike
BroadcastReformer not really. Look at the price range for most Harley’s that aren’t Sportsters, this is the market Indian is aiming for and is the best bang for the buck if that’s your price range
the S model with the sport pack is the most intresting for me. How ever that would be verry expensive. And there are lot of other bikes that cost less and have more power. Why is the bike so heavy? It has a small tank
i like the FTR1200 it's the first ever Indian I ever considered buying. Still I am getting something different, I am waiting for my Ducati dealer to get the new Hypermotard 950 SP in. want to test ride ist before i finalize the order.
I believe in one of your videos you said you were short. How was the seat height for you? I’m also short and just wondered how high it was. Friend has an adventure touring bike that I can’t reach the ground without tipping it to one side.
@@DanDanTheFireman Understandable. I was gonna go with Vance & Hines for my Victory CCT when I get the dough for performance upgrades but I've found Miller's Mufflers for $400 vs $699 and I like the sound of them better & I get $100 back when I send him my cores.
That FTR in the ads and marketing was not a practical "production" motorcycle. It was a concept and this bike is the production. They are never the exact same the concept is always cooler and better. Even if they gave you the concept version you people would complain and want to change something. Shut your faces build a bridge and get the f#*k over it.
Getting the S race rep. Indian has several items I'll purchase separately for it. Saw pic of an RSD 2 into 1 low exhaust that looks sweet, kinda what V&H or 2 Bros. might do. S&S proto type look sik. All depends what they sound like........
The rsd is a slip on , sounds amazing tho I’m def getting that.. thinking I might pair it with custom fab titanium headers with this company I know but it will be expensive
I'm sure they have thought about it but I wonder how that touch screen is gonna work in the rain. My phone goes nuts if it gets a water on the screen 🤔
Oh boy! I can spend 5K or more to TRY and get the bike they sold me to get somewhat close to the bike they advertised and hyped for months. Forgive me but why didnt they just stll the bike they marketed in all the videos? OH they wanted to bleed motorcyclists dry to try and achieve that look and performance. What? $15K plus $5K more in parts doesnt sound good to you? It doesnt sound great to me either. I guess there is a sucker born every day and they line up to hand their money to Polaris.
Oh no! They gave you options! How Terrible!!!!! Seriously.....don't you realize the concept was more expensive until the added more customization options and then stripped the base model to be cheaper? You can't not get that right?
Jeez Harley have sold out on us the concept had to change for various legal reasons but not this much ...loose the tech, touchscreen info tainment yuk , And that horrendous licence plate cage and I might buy one , nah Ill go for a triumph T120 instead
1) You don't have to use all of that "infotainment" tech. 2) Obviously, you're not that bright as you should've recognized that you can unbolt that license plate/frame and remove it if you want to do so. 3) If you already had your mind made up on the Triumph, then why are you on IMC channel? Trolling much?
I love looks of this bike. it looks like you could do whatever you want to with this bike. street dirt Adventure. Travel. I think it's a really good time for a bike like this.
This thing is such a disappointment. Ditch the deposit and do what Im doing - buy a Scout, and turn it into an actual flat tracker. Its way closer than this thing will ever be. And doesnt look like a freaking KTM. I waited two years for this thing - what a waste.
I did man - along with about 4K worth of other parts from them. And then Ohlins shocks - exhaust - tuner - etc. I got a 16 scout with less than 100 miles on the clock for 7k. My build will be exactly what I want, and a real flat Tracker, for less than the base FTR1200. It was a no brainer for me.
Heck with that engine. LOL.. You can easily build an Evo Sportster engine to produce more power than that Polaris "Indian" engine, for many thousands of dollars less.
This bike is over priced ! And can’t find a identity, it don’t know what it wants to be and it probably won’t do much of what it wants to be well. There is just to many other bikes with better price points that will be better.
Are you, going to stick with harley davidson whom made you successful or are you going to ditch us proud american supporters ps bless you for the rude awakening you have recived as you see its a replica of Evels Kanivel xlr 750 Track Bike

Hey Dan so my FTR 1200s mods will be bar end mirrors, S&S high pipe, integrated turn signal taillight (when available) and tail tidy.
I've got a deposit on one. First things I plan on doing are changing the exhaust, doing a rear fender delete, and making a set of frame sliders. . . . First brand new bike I've ever bought.
Looking at an FTR1200s myself, but wondering if, after 3 years of Tracer 700 (MT07), the FTR is biting off more than I can chew...
I prefer the old board tracker in the background personally, it would be cool if they went back to their roots and released a model that was a reproduction of the originals.
Granted it's not the replica I wanted either, but it's still a pretty badass motorcycle!...I like it!
Just got myself a 2019 for $8990 brand new . Came out to more than that after adding in the extra 5 years of bumber to bumber coverage and wheel and tire coverage but thats more for my peace of mind. All in all still a good deal

I'm with you. Give me retro looks. Pack the tech in the powerplant and drivetrain. 👍
Leaning toward the blacked out base model myself. It's better looking than everything but the race replica.
Analog...blacked out...blah...blah. Sounds like a typical "bro bike". Ya know, the convo between two bros goes "hey, bro. I blacked out my bike. Oh, cool bro. I blacked out my bike too". Boring...

Read this title and thought you didn’t want the FTR all together and had just changed your mind completely lol
The FTR 1200s or the Honda CB 1000r? Please help.
Which did you go for?
@@rossm9676 I haven't got a chance to test ride the ftr yet. The Honda costs 22 thousand dollars plus here in India.
Seat height once sitting on it ? How tall r u for reference ? Thanks
Awesome looking bike but what the hell is up with that 2004 Nook tablet strapped to the handlebars?
:( What ever happened to that gorgeous FTR1200 concept bike that we all wanted?
Isn’t the only difference between the s and the rr is the frame color?
Hi Dan, can you get a bigger gastank for the ftr. I mean 13 liters is small isnt it?
that license plate "holder" def needs to go lol
Made my own street flat tracker but did it with the tz750 two stroke and it's a beast.

Harley hasnt even been racing really. They outsourced their race team and have them on a shitty XG750. They have put zero effort into flat track in years
This bike or the Honda CB-F? Assuming they make the CB-F.
I've also had the itch for this bike but I'm not 100% sure. I have to sit on it and feel it. Not sure I like that low plastic looking housing with an exposed line (cooling?) sitting in front/bottom of the engine @4:54 .
I look forward to the build logs!
Definitely want one but will wait to take a rest ride first of course. May even trade in the victory for it. Can’t wait to see what Vance and Hines does as well.
ECU can’t find the ride mode!?!?
All the floor demo units out now have been "deactivated" in some way. You can fiddle with buttons and levers and whatnot, but they won't run. Probably more than a few critical pieces either missing or replaced with dummy modules. No working ECU, no ride modes.
Trading in my 2017 Harley streetrod for this bad baby!!

I put Vance and Hiens short shots on my fxdb. How do I get a t shirt.
Dunno dan, the new bike is updated before the release the 1200r is getting a factory achrapovic
I wished they would have offered detachable saddle bags for it.
Really serious about getting the FTR1200. What's your take on the price? $16,000 for the S trim is a lot of money for any bike.
BroadcastReformer not really. Look at the price range for most Harley’s that aren’t Sportsters, this is the market Indian is aiming for and is the best bang for the buck if that’s your price range
Hopefully this motivates Harley to step it up.
Harley just came out with an electric bike I hope the hd near me gets one and I'll try to test ride it but its nice
Harley already anounced that they are releasing a naked V twin sportbike and an adventure bike. Thats old news
@Jackson Carter
"..fucking another man in the ass.."? That's a pretty gay thing to say.
Does the infotainment not have navigation?
Good choice since you can mod that one better and it's $1000 cheaper
the S model with the sport pack is the most intresting for me. How ever that would be verry expensive. And there are lot of other bikes that cost less and have more power.

On the live stream he said he was able to flat foot with one foot. I assume that means he had to lean it to one side.
Indian bikes seem made for shorter people in general. I need to add extended reach items for them to fit me at 6-1
Why not go with the Akrapovic Slip Ons? I think they would be a better exhaust than Vance & Hines.
My sponsor is Vance and hines and the Akrapovic is expeeeeennnsssssiiiive

U can do everything from. The toggle switch also
Vance & Hines + FTR needs to happen & soon!!
In the pic with dan on the bike...I see my bike in the mirror, blue/white scout.
I'm waiting for the ftr to be available in the used market I just don't make enough money!
I'm guessing ya have to flip the seat up to refuel ? That would be a pita if loaded down.
There's a spot up top that you fill through
Why wouldn’t the FTR1200 be considered a sports bike? There is cruiser like about the FTR.
Personally I like the rear "fender"
What price will it be or around about estimate? It is bad ass 👍🏽
14,999 for the S
This bike has no character. Now the new Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE, that's a hot bike.
I'm a long time Triumph guy, . . . and I totally disagree. I'm trading in my Triumph for an Indian.
I think its awesome your getting the ftr asks keeping the sportser👍👍😎😎
Excellent motorcycle, congratulations good choice.
1:55 Its a naked streetfighter. Stop trying to make it into anything that its not. Seriously makes it impossible to like this bike!
If Honda does not make the CF retro bike then I am going Native American. FTR Carbon for me. Price is no issue.

It's a shame they didn't do the high mount license plate right out of the gate.
Yea. I wish it was standard
