I love this bike. I grew up on dirt bikes and have had a small cruiser and a supermoto. I want something that is a bit better than the supermoto for highway use but can still be fun on dirt roads. The concept bike came out and I instantly fell in love. This doesn't do justice to the concept bike but it's still more my style than just about any other street bike.
9/10 , I love the styling, color choice on the Race Replica and how this bike hides its weight with the low center of gravity. Would have been a 10/10 if it lost another 15kg and had 15 hp extra. Yes, I ordered one.
Yeah it’s a bit steep. Always amazes me that bikes like the mt-07 come in at just over 6 grand. Surely you can’t get more fun for your buck than that. But I think buyers of this bike will be looking for a bit more style and prestige, so price might not be a problem
Max Breemer well the GM told me it was Sunday at 1:00 so I show and he meant to mention March 29th. I share responsibility. I’ll keep you posted next month.
9 out of 10. The pipes looks mean. The engine is blacked out. The stance is stocky and mean. 1203cc and looks like a 600/800cc. Love it. The price is the only single factor that deters me.
wow! its a beautiful bike and the race replica would be the only way to go. 9/10 for sure. only down side is the price. demo ride worthy for sure. I hope you are able to do a demo motobob would be awesome to get your personal feedback on this one.
This was my favourite bike at motorcycle live (the speed twin hadn't been launched in November ) it felt so comfortable and aggressive to sit on and was built to a high standard. I prefer the plainer looking colours though. My early enthusiasm has died down a little though, I now think it looks a bit stumpy, like a scrambler, and I don't like scramblers. Looks a bit messy in one or two places as well. When I first saw it 9.8! Now it's a 9.
It's an option available on all of them (according to the Indian site). Same here though, I'm not a fan of the plate holder and signals hanging off the rear of the swing arm.
8/10. I can see this bike in some futuristic apocalyptic movie😀 in all matte black. I like the looks but a heavy bike. And the price! But a cool bike from Indian!
I'm still waiting for the dealers here in southern New England to stock the bike. I want to sit on it and get the feel before I spend $15k+ on a bike. I'm loving the look of it and agree that the extra that you get with the 'S' model looks like it's worth it. I want to go higher but again, without being able to sit on it and view it in person, I gotta go 9/10. One thing I'm not a fan of is that under the front of the engine / radiator, there's what appears to be a cooling line of some sort. Looks a little too vulnerable. You don't get a clear look at it in this video but I've seen it in others.
Yeah I recall from the show that the rec/reg and maybe an oil cooler are located down there? I take your point that it’s a vulnerable spot, but assume they’ve tested it plenty.
Nice looking bike but for me the TFT spoils it, I would say a couple of analogue’s would suit that bike perfectly otherwise it gets a thumbs up 👍 8.5/10
Yeah I think Kawasaki have done the best job on the z900rs having the multifunction display hidden between the twin clocks. That’s the best of both worlds
@@motobob the FTR1200 standard model comes stock with traditional analogs. You only get the full on TFT with the S model and RR of course. I've ridden both at my local dealer and I'm sure that they will both fit in nicely with their appropriate customer base. I have money down on the Race Replica for delivery any day now and feel confident that the display will support me nicely for those longer rides around the canyons and mountain roads of northern New Mexico. Good vid mate. 9/10 bike for me.
I’ll go for 7/10, nice looking bike. Scaffold swing arm is horrid and tail end needs modification. Exhaust looks like an after thought. I wouldn’t say no if offered one, but not with my own money.
Remove the all Euro plastic crap, number plate on a side bracket. There is reminiscence of the Yamaha Vmax in the design, one of the coolest bikes of the 90’s, that also had loads of power.
MOTOBOB because it depends on the country’s design rules in America you get away with a lot more IE side mount plate but in places like Europe and Australia you have to have it behind the rear wheel at a certain angle
I've seen the race bike and the prototype Roland Sands built and they looked the part and had the performance to back it up. This one, no not a fan, indian have played safe and ended up shooting themselve in the foot with this one.
Yeah I can’t help but feel that the concept 1200 set them up to fail, as people were expecting the production model to look pretty much the same. I understand why they made some of the changes like running the pipes low so they don’t burn your leg, but I can see why some folks are a bit disappointed in the end result
Form has got to go with function though. If the concept looked great but was not good to ride that would have been bad too. I've seen some awesome looking bikes in the past but they've been uncomfortable/terrible to ride (although it's a personal thing).
Good on paper, but too expensive - what new bike isn't? Looks better in the flesh than on video, where it looks a bit heavy/bulky. Not the bike for me, so 6/10.
I guess you’re right, but you can get Japanese bikes from 6 or 7 grand which will be a hoot to ride so from a totally utilitarian perspective 12-14k seems like a lot. It’s a totally different target audience tho
Too expensive; NEEDS the aftermarket pipe, as the original one is horrendous, but 1,200 GBP! Dreadful dash; too heavy [wet weight, including fuel?]; tiny fuel tank; reliability? Need I say more?
I guess there’ll be other cheaper slip-ons available. What’s the question over reliability? I’m not that familiar with Indians - is that a common issue?
Nice bike, but, who is it aimed at? 🤷♂️ Is it a day bike 🤷♂️ a cruiser then you’d have to fit bags 🤷♂️ I reckon it’s the sort of bike you’d cruise around looking like a right poser 🤷♂️🤣🤣 would you spend that much on a track bike only to have it totalled 🤷♂️🤷♂️ I like all the small touches name logo’s and the swing arm configuration......but is it practical 🤷♂️ 7 out of 10 for me 👍
I think it’s their attempt at a naked sport bike, with Harley’s streetfighter in the works too. Probably the same riders who are after a bike with history/heritage but still a good ride, so the z900rs, Speed Twin etc. But I think you make a bunch of valid points!
Well it’s probably aimed at a person who just wants to ride a cool bike without all the crap hanging off it who like your self likes the look of it Does it have to be practical?? Sometimes it’s just nice to have a nice bike........ you seem to be that bloke who...... you know what never mind 🤔🤗
MrJak427 Horses for courses mate, I like something you don’t and vis versa 🤷♂️ opinions is what Bob was asking for not negativity so there was no need for that last comment 🤷♂️
I Really like the looks of this bike, Do you know if Indian have nickted some Ducati designer,s ? Let's face it if it had a Ducati badge you wouldn't bat an eye. 9.5
You don't need Ducati's designers. You just need a Ducati in your possession and you are good to go. This bike is a mix of Ducati monster and the scrambler.
Yeah I read that they routed them down low because of the heat on the legs. But triumph have made it work... so it must be possible. I agree that proper high level pipes look way better
I think with a bold design comes a divisive design and it's really not up my street. Very chunky and ugly looking in my opinion and the red wine finish is pretty gross against the yellow of the forks. The exhaust is also hideous, but can see why it would appeal. A very subjective 6/10 from me.
I think I already liked the colour of the race bike and the 1200 concept, but maybe if I was looking at it fresh those colours wouldn't match. It's only this highest spec model with the red frame and gold forks - the cheapest is all black, and the S with a touch of red but black forks.
9/10. Looks fantastic, nailed the heritage feel without going overboard.
I agree. Has a good balance to it
I love this bike. I grew up on dirt bikes and have had a small cruiser and a supermoto.

Yea, i figured you'd have the same points about this as I did. Happy riding when yours comes in mate.
10/10...going to buy one for a graduation present to myself when I get out of school. Beautiful bike
9/10 👌 looks amazing! Great style . Looks aggressive. Great power! Only thing that doesn't give it a 10 is the price!
Yeah it’s a bit steep. Always amazes me that bikes like the mt-07 come in at just over 6 grand. Surely you can’t get more fun for your buck than that. But I think buyers of this bike will be looking for a bit more style and prestige, so price might not be a problem
9/10 slick gear changes and friendly in town. Good handling.
10/10 love the styling and have a feeling it’ll be a blast to ride! 😁
Me too - looks like a hoot. Hopefully I'll get to ride one at some point :)
I like, I love everything about this bike, but the gold forks, and the asymmetric swing arm. And I have a test ride scheduled for tomorrow. 😁
Enjoy! Would love to test one myself
So, how was it?
Max Breemer well the GM told me it was Sunday at 1:00 so I show and he meant to mention March 29th. I share responsibility. I’ll keep you posted next month.
Donovan McCray where? IMOC?
Max Breemer yup
9 out of 10. The pipes looks mean. The engine is blacked out. The stance is stocky and mean. 1203cc and looks like a 600/800cc. Love it. The price is the only single factor that deters me.
Same here mate! I like to see something a little out of the ordinary and this definitely stands apart from the rest of the market.
wow! its a beautiful bike and the race replica would be the only way to go. 9/10 for sure. only down side is the price. demo ride worthy for sure. I hope you are able to do a demo motobob would be awesome to get your personal feedback on this one.
I would love to. Will try to hook it up at some point for sure
8.5/10 based just on how outlandish the price is.
It’s a bit pricey yeah...

I’m looking forward to seeing what custom shops can make of it. They’ll tidy up the messy bits I assume
looks fantastic, can't wait to see a rider review
There’s one of the few Indian dealers in the U.K. quite close by, so hoping to get a spin on one!
9.5 / 10 Love this bike! Ordered a Race Replica. Will replace the plate / rear signal set up to clean up the rear end.
Enjoy! Really hope to test ride one at some point cos the numbers sound pretty good
"I've been waiting for the Indian FTR without the rear turn signals down behind the rear tire gotta get one a.s.a.p! ! !" 🗨️😎
Yeah the base model is pretty much all black and looks pretty tasty. Hopefully will get to ride one some time... even if it’s heavy it should go well
Will you be reviewing the 2019 Indian Scout Bobber?
Hopefully at some point! Looks like a great bike
I'm still waiting for the dealers here in southern New England to stock the bike. I want to sit on it and get the feel before I spend $15k+ on a bike. @@motobob That's what I was thinking but again, nobody has it local to me so I've gotta wait. =)
9 out of 10.
True flat trackers are very cool, but they are all custom, or at least after market frames.
love it.
Looks a lovely bike 8.5/10. An interesting bike to look into, but I don't know much about indian as in quality and reliability??
Me either tbh. They look nicely made but I don’t know anything more than that
8.24/10 price is a little high and the bikes a bit on the heavy side
Why would u dislike this=(
Impressive looking thing, and it certainly has a "presence". It's probably aimed at those who can afford a £14,000 toy but that's not me. About a 7.
Me either I'm afraid Steven!
Nice looking bike but for me the TFT spoils it, I would say a couple of analogue’s would suit that bike perfectly otherwise it gets a thumbs up 👍 8.5/10

A few folks have said the same about the tail. What is it that you don't like?
Remove the all Euro plastic crap, number plate on a side bracket. There is reminiscence of the Yamaha Vmax in the design, one of the coolest bikes of the 90’s, that also had loads of power.
I’ve seen shots of this bike with a swing arm mounted number plate holder, so not sure why this model had it on a stalk 🤷♂️
MOTOBOB because it depends on the country’s design rules in America you get away with a lot more IE side mount plate but in places like Europe and Australia you have to have it behind the rear wheel at a certain angle
It looks like a saggy arsed lump to me, a bit farther up the "sports" ladder than the HD sportster, but not by much.
Haha so not a fan I take it!
I've seen the race bike and the prototype Roland Sands built and they looked the part and had the performance to back it up. This one, no not a fan, indian have played safe and ended up shooting themselve in the foot with this one.

:-)
Would love to! I’ll try...
MOTOBOB
yes!
:-)
9 out of 10. Docked one because I know the fuel tank makes the bike unusable for longer rides and the dash looks like a Samsung tablet.
Both fair points! It feels like they use the TFT dash as an upsell against the analogue on the base model, but most people don’t seem to like it 🤷♂️
Love, love, love...way more than my ex-wife... 9.5! V twin, red frame, flat track inspired.. oh yea
10/10
10 !
Did that say a mark out of 10 for BOB’S BOOTY? 🤣
Yes indeed! :)
9.5

I don't like the back of the bike :/
The tail section? Think it might be better with the carbon pillion seat cover, but that’s another few hundred quid again!
Endian 0!! it's not a Victory .
