Wasn’t a bomb dude.
Is it weird that i talk to the moon and tell my dead friends i love them? Luv u bro...
i dont need bluechew. i just watch your videos to get rock hard.
@@theitfactorjameswheezer2852 man I went to the comments to say the same. The budget was 15mil it makes 60mil. I think Alita was the only bomb(loved the movie and I think it made profit worldwide) he always would keep his budget low
Good review, I haven't seen this movie in a long time. I remember talking about this movie with my pal one time and we talked about how much this movie was entertaining and creepy too. We mentioned three freaky sequences first one my friend mentioned was Zeke in the shower with the sick old lady and her skin melting. Second one is when Elizabeth Burke's (Famke Janssen) head was crawling with tentacles and her body trying to find her head. My third one was when Stan goes to find the coah and the football team outside on the field and they are all drinking rain water to survive. But just seeing Robert Patrick's face with a skull on it creeped me out when I saw it the first time. Also I noticed why is Usher on the movie poster shouldn't it be Shawn Hatosy who played Stan Rosado??? I mean he is one of the six kids who finds out about the aliens during the final climax. Usher turned into a squid slug anyway. So in conclusion awesome review love Hack The Movies and it's Owner Too keep on talking about tapes.
Josh Hartnett had hair only Josh Hartnett could pull off.
That's why ll cool j told him to comb his hair in halloween h20.
When I first read the name I that it was Josh Duhamel and now I’m picturing him shouting at the kids about transformers lmao
...and somehow he did not. 👎
Except he didn’t pull it off. It was lame
... or Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber.
Really fun episode dude! Thanks for having me on, I had a blast!
I hope you guys collab again. You guys had some really good chemistry in this episode. 👍
@@fl3045 man, thanks so much. Super kind of you for watching and commenting.
Great guest for the video store. You should hold a football once.
How is this a box office bomb? Says budget was $15m and it made $63m. It also came out on Christmas which is absolutely crazy for a teen horror film. I remember seeing a MTV special on it and getting so hyped so I begged my mom to bring me. I also remember cutting out Josh Harnett in the soundtrack booklet, showing it to my barber, asking if they can make me look like him, and they coldly said "No." Incredible movie. Just a good time.
As a 90s baby I grew up with this movie and I absolutely love it
The night of the creeps + The Thing (1982) + Scream = good old sci-fi high school horror.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers???? HELLOOOO????
@@cuylshepherdton7437 technically, The Puppet Masters, which Night of the Creeps was inspired by as well as Slither.
@@ytndndrummer Don't forget Demonic Toys

JoeyC is clearly paying homage to WWF Legend 'The Hurricane'.
Living in San Diego and being in high school around the time this movie had came out was crazy , this had so much hype around it . everyone in my freshman year saw it
Nice Les Rallizes Denudes profile pic! Strung out deeper than the night is my jam.
More drugs, less slugs! I've enjoyed The Faculty since it was new.
Joey C needs to be on more episodes. This review was great
Really glad you decided to talk about this one. I feel like it's so forgotten and underrated. It's everything I was getting into genre wise before the millennium. Just enough horror, just enough scifi, and a little bit of high school drama bullshit.
I remember watching this movie when it came out and thinking Elisha Woods would have made the perfect Spider-Man/Peter Parker. I think maybe that's what they were going for.
wow never thought of that.
That caller REALLY didn’t want to acknowledge the awesomeness of The Faculty. Poor bastard.
Yes my high school did fireworks at football games. Basically whenever we scored.
According to Matt Hullum(Rooster Teeth, voice of Sarge) he worked on this film(I believe SFX department) and his crew allegedly was offered to work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but his boss turned it down because he didn't think they wanted to go to New Zealand for so long and thought the project would be good in general. Wonder how that Lord of the Rings trilogy turned out?
The Faculty: Usher can infect you with an alien parasite
In reality: Usher can infect you with something else, cold sores are involved
Let it burn! Let it burn!
@@tonymcneill7779 🤣🤣🤣
I’m barely 20 minutes into this and you guys are blowing my mind with all the facts of one of my favorite, sci-fi, horror, movies growing up. I know all the words to this film but you guys are really pointing out stuff that even on my hundredth viewing I haven’t noticed.
I’m going to finish watching this right now, and I’m probably jumping ahead of myself. But I wonder if you guys touch base on the fact that an actress got cut out of this movie midway through filming. The only remnants of her left is a couple of arm shots, and the infamous Tommy Hilfiger photo shoot. Go look it up you’ll see her face.
My dad showed me this movie when I was around 7 years old. This movie scared me to an unbelievable degree. I still loved it, although I didn't get many references to stuff like drugs and nudity, but still...
This used to show this all the time on sci-fi channel back in the early 2000’s. Definitely a time capsule of that era.
I thought it was more "Scream meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
Good one!
The scene where they take cocaine in order to find who's the alien is basically the DNA test in The Thing.
Love this Teen Horror Sci Fi Thriller, with lots of humor and plenty of scares!
The "Drug Test Scene" serves as an Homage to John Carpenter's THE THING, to see who is Human and who's an alien.
The phone call bit was great
Layne "Stanley" hurt a bit. Miss Layne Staley RIP.
The best football scene is the one at the beginning of "Last Boyscout"
The only other time I've seen School bleachers used in something, was an old X-Files episode where they visit a town where everything's going crazy and one of the girls has psychic powers and makes the bleachers retract crushing people.
As far as this movie goes, I assumed the alien was some kind of hive mind and when they showed all the various tentacles while Mary Beth still look human, I figured that was other parts of the hive not her specifically. I did kind of like that they gave a motivation to the alien, Mary Beth basically talks about being alone, lonely, and like everyone else in the school she felt she was alone and trying to make friends. It's just her way of making friends was to make somebody part of the hive
Man Tony! This guy was a lot of fun!….. I think that’s what I love the most about your channel…. You always invite the most unique personalities which makes each episode it’s own thing!…. Good job…. Glad I found your channel a few months ago…
Tony could’ve probably done this alone
Love this movie! My friends and I made a parody movie when we were in middle school called The FaCACAculty. Good times. I also enjoyed the addition of the co host, JoeyC, and his enthusiasm. Bring him back for some more episodes!
This is gonna sound crazy, but I've never seen this movie, but thought I had. I got it confused with Disturbing Behavior. When Tony was mentioning the cast, I'm thinking, he's got the wrong movie, it's got Katie Holmes, James Marsden, Nick Stahl and Ethan Embry. So I looked it up and I was wrong. They both came out months apart in 1998 but that's still no excuse.
The Faculty is one of my favorite horror and '90s movies.
It's cool to see so many actors right before they hit it big like Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, and Josh Hartnett.
The drug test scene with the pens reminded me of the blood test scene in The Thing.
Its so funny watching Elijah Wood pretend to be high while they sus out the alien/creature.
Great practical effects here and there. But most of the CGI is Gawd awful.
Famke Jensen's head on an octopus creature's body made me LOL.
Don’t sleep on that boy usher too 😂
@@Hellseventeen Oh yeah!
Elijah had a good run in starring roles as a child actor in the early to mid 90s, so he was pretty decently well known. Obviously not nearly to the extent after he was in LotR.
Faculty - how a cockney tells you there’s no tea ☕️
Ha
JoeyC throughout the show like 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
It's Staley, not Stanley. BTW, Another Brick In The Wall has three parts. Thanks for doing this movie. One of my favorites. I didn't know that this and H20 were filmed back-to-back. Piper Laurie was also the mom in Carrie. Also, Principal Drake was turned into a alien at the beginning of the movie
guy with glasses is cool, he notices alot of details, awesome stuff. Love the channel
Great movie. I always do a double feature with The faculty and Disturbing Behavior once a year
The Faculty is like Robert Rodriguez's version of "Night of the Creeps" or "Invasion of the body snatchers", that's why it rocks. Honestly I'll take the Faculty over "Scream" any day.
Extremely underrated movie given the cast performances
As a 90s kid. I loved and still love this movie to this day
I just love how usher is on the front cover making you think he has a big part. But I reality he only has a couple lines in the movie. Nothing to help the story. I did really enjoy this movie growing up and still will throw it on ever now and again
I hit the like button the moment after I saw the BlueChew bit. That was unexpected and hilarious!
I used to have my friends say go back to Pearl Harbor because they thought I looked like josh Hartnett in 40 days and 40 nights..i dont see it but..the faculty was awesome when I first saw it. I think it still holds up. Good cast with Elijah wood and others. Reminds me of simpler times. Good movie.
Piper Laurie from "Twin Peaks" - Piper Laurie from "CARRIE"!!!👏👏
The reason why "Brick in the wall" shows twice on that Audio Cassette is because it's Part1 and the other is part 2 (class of 99)
Yeah and if I'm not mistaken, the first is a softer orchestral while the latter has lyrics and kicks it into overdrive. I periodically toss the CD into my car.
@@cthulhupthagn5771 it was a great soundtrack.amd a great movie.
I went to go see this in the theaters when it first came out with my brother and cousin. And behind us were these pot head chicks that brought special brownies with them. They offered us some, but we declined. They were hilarious through the whole movie as they were freaking out.
Joey was fun! I sometimes hate reading the comments. He brought some fun energy and they played off each other well! Great episode htm
Just watched this. It’s a really great time capsule. Sort of feels like it encapsulates 90’s horror and genre films in general. The sci fi stuff is a neat twist too. Lot of references to The Thing, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, and even Lifeforce.
The Faculty is still a fun movie thats takes a little bit of The Thing and Invasion of the Body Snatchers and throwing in some odd humor. Such as the teachers surviving at the end. Severed head reattached back on the body just fine lol
Take a sip every time that guy says "Let me tell ya".
🤌
Layne Staley is the only thing I needda hear! He’s the greatest of any and all time!!!🖤🤘🏽🖤 I’m so glad for this episode!!! We need Justice to come by the podcast more often as this duo is incomparable!
fuck me i miss the 90s. some nostalgia is a kind of sickness and a personification of weakness but sometimes you need to go back to when the world wasnt just a knife to the face.
I like this guest ,he's fun...we did have fireworks at our football game
Great review. We need more Joey C on Hack The Movies :) Tony is awesome!
Wow, talk about the main casts who became famous artists after doing this movie
This movie's fun and the actors are fine
I love this movie so much and treasure my vhs so so much.
The faculty is completely underrated. I'll always remember the scene where Elijah wood gets his balls ran into a light pole 😂
Shooter McGavin baby!! 🤣🤣🤣
It's nice to have a co-host just not constantly shitting on Tony
I saw this and Halloween H20 in cinema's why cause Usher and LL Cool J XDDD yet those two movies to this day are my go-to fav horror movies from the late 90's because of the nostalgia. The Faculty is totally underrated, it is just pure fun.
Oh no, did Tony just call Layne Staley "Layne STANLEY"?
Dude
Oh another influence not mentioned is The Breakfast Club. You got the rich popular girl, the goth girl, the jock, the bad boy, and the geek. But wait... that leaves out Mary Beth. Ahh yes it does, a hint that she doesn't belong.
I use to blast that sound track back in the 90’s in my s-10 just thinking I was the coolest shit 😂
I keep waiting for the guest host to say "turtle turtle" and reveal himself as the Master Of Disguise himself Pistachio Disguisey!
This is such a good movie. It holds up to rewatching too.
Leaving a comment for Al Gore’s rhythm
If you do "Idle Hands" soon, my teenage vhs collection with be almost complete
Oof, gotta give my sympathy for the horrible inconsistency of the youtube algorithm. I don't watch every hack the movies episode that comes across my feed. 🤷 I mostly watch at a certain time of night. But I appreciate you & the crew. Hope this provides sufficient engagement for the ever-hungry algorithm's satisfaction.
got this on blu ray.
You didn't notice that if you remove every Breakfast Club Stereotype, you'll discover the Alien?
NEW CLIPS AT THE END!! THANK YOU.
Saw this in theaters still luv it
I love films like this, invasion of the body snatchers, etc. The whole "Chosen few outsiders" vs some invading force situation. Makes for good thrillers. This one was a nice mix of tension/comedy. The part where they're at zeke's, testing whose an alien or not, and tripping balls lol. Gold
Showdown..... 😂
@@dawb86 😂 Elijah wood was too much in that scene
"Layne Stanley"
Great Video Dudes. I was 10 when The Faculty came out, my Mom rented it for me and my Cousin, on PPV, We missed about the first 10 min. I love this movie. The first 3 Invasion of the Body Snatchers movies are Classics IMHO! #DugsNotSlugs
The Hunky Teens on the Cover Horror Movies can also be called the Dawsons Creek Horror Movies.
“It was on my sisters VHS shelf, it never came off the shelf”
So, you could say, it was just another brick in the wall? 😏
The Faculty is Scream meets The Thing?
I mean... I guess? It's really Invasion of the Body Snatchers and it doesn't even try to hide it. Rather it references it openly...
One of my favourite movies of all time, absolutely brilliant!
Movie was scary as a kid but I loved it in the 90s lol great review!
Tony, about the soundtrack. That's Layne Staley not Layne stanley lol. The lead singer from Alice in Chains! lol sorry to correct just a big grunge fan^^
ruclips.net/video/53Tkukf46pg/видео.html
I think they need fresh water. Salt water would dry them out
Scream meets invasion of the bodysnatchers would be a more appropriate title.
Such a great sci fi thriller movie. And a lot of big stars are in this.
Hey, Famous Tony From Hack The Movies, you should have had me on this one. The jokes you could have made, would have been priceless. Great episode as usual, keep up the good work.
JoeyC!!!
Please review deep rising ! My crusade continues ! Thank you have a nice day!
I MENTION IT IN THIS VIDEO!
@@HackTheMovies when it debuts I will watch it and hold you to it ! This isn't your first time you've mentioned doing a possible review of deep rising. So... my crusade continues good sir! I believe in you Tony!
THE FACULTY is AWESOME 😃🤘🤘
See now I want a shirt with More Drugs, Less Drugs. Lol
Im surprised nobody mentioned that "fuck up 2" is Mitch from dazed and confused
I live near a highschool that sometimes has fireworks during games.
It sucks
The late 90s/early 2000s are my favorite time for film, being in highschool at the time I had all these movies for teens. Scream 1-3, I Know I Still Know, Faculty, Disturbing Behavior, Idle Hands and others
I was a kid but I would also argue it had the best teen tv shows as well. Dawson’s Creek for example. Which ironically like this movie Scream, Scream 2, IKWYDLS was also written by Kevin Williamson.
Listening to this at the gym, when tony got that phone call I was in the middle of a set, the dumbbell slammed the ground and I’m pissing myself that’s for sure. That was funny as
I figured they were fresh water aliens, so the ocean probably wouldn't have worked out for them
The Daniel von Bargen story is a little more than sad. Man loses a leg to diabetes, is facing the amputation of toes, not wanting to endure another surgery, he shoots himself in the temple and doesn't die. The poor man's 911 call is online. He finally succumbed to diabetes a few years later... Thanks Tony, wasn't ready for that one...
Watched in theater with a friend. We were the only ones there opening weekend.
That blue chew bit killed me 🤣
I want a sequel where all of the kids are now the faculty of the school.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time this kid says "good god"
Zeke could afford the car because his parents were rich also payed for whatever he wanted lke his science set aka drug lab lol and abonded him and they wanted to buy his happiness..turned out good for him
It is mr Tate who picks her up. But it's not a taxi it's the schools driver's Ed car
