    I've wondered about a race bike for park/dirt jumping in general. Back in the 90's my daily rider was technically a race bike. Now I need to look up the disc brake adapter

    Great thinking!
    Ive been doing this for years and it defenately works.
    I have to btw. Am 1.96m (need a 22.7tt so i chose a xxxl frame with a 14.5cs. 180mm cranks flats offcource)
    Alluminium kinda sucks as i keep bendig frames like warm butter.
    Neighter liking the fact of how much alloy polutes our Planet too...
    Designed a decent chromo frame that i would love to get produced. Could use some collab/help too btw 😇
    53 here riding since 1984 and no plans to stop ever.
    Keep riding too all of you ❤🚵

      I started buying new parts for my frame. Bought cromoly handlebars, sealed cassette bmx hub. Parts are extensive so I started buying what I could afford on a weekly pay check not getting it all in one paycheck.

    Great im actually running a Mongoose Title pro XXL hybrid build. im running 2x 2.125" kenda k-rad and a 43-16 (-1 front) is gives me 1 link more for tire clrarance.(i can stick my index on both side) Using a top load stem, ajustable seatpost, flat pedals, chromo forks, Freestyle crank with vintage style front sprocket. Long grips. Ill do the dirt jumper brake loop great idea. im loving it so far but im planing getting a 9" bar. The rear fat tire give sooo much confort from 1.75" its alot smoother on rim and less flats.

    I’ve gone this route with S&Ms Steel Panther frame. I’m fat and not nearly as skilled as you so I’ve opted for a full chromoly set up. Must say I do like the geometry of face frames for flying around. It’s fun.

    Can you tell chase to make the edge in pro xxxl. The element comes in 22” to but the edge tops out at 21.5” tt. I’m 6’3” and chase doesn’t offer an entry level race bike for me, but several other brands do. So I’m gonna have to get a meybo or something that’s not chase. Edge is like $800 and the element is $1400. Quite a difference for someone getting into Bmx racing.

    Hey man, could you PLEASE make a video on how to jump a BMX bike compared to a DJ/MTB?!! I've gotten the gist of jumping my MTBe, and now I'm transitioning to my 20 inch, and things happen soooo much faster that I'm terrified!!! Is body movement the same and stuff?? Please make a vid because you explain shit so thorough where people can understand. Thanks, love your vids. Oh, and I seen you in NC at the Gaston Pump track with KJ 💪🏾

    Could i convert my bmx cruiser into a dirt jumper by adding a front suspension for a 24 inch wheel? Or it is not recommended? Thanks

    • @barrynobles95
      @barrynobles95  2 года назад +1

      I don’t see why not but it’d change the front angle on the bike quite a bit

    • @philparsons8796
      @philparsons8796 2 года назад +1

      if you find a fork with the same axle to crown measurement , then yes , it will work but it'll slacken the head angle , like Barry said , so you'll feel like your falling off the bike over the back wheel , it'll loose alot of responsive nature that bmxs will feel , you'd be better just learning to take big hits more rearward wheel bias , so drop your heels off a drop it pushes the back wheel through and closer to the floor , minimising the fall essentially

    • @_Ty__
      @_Ty__ 2 года назад +3

      I put a SR Suntour XCR Air LO 24 (63mm travel) on my old DK General Lee 24. It was less than an inch added to the axle to crown measurement.
      Don’t intend on actually using it as a jump bike, but wanted the look for the cruiser. (Have an Octane One Zircus for jumping)

    How do you like Elevn's bars and forks? I've been contemplating between elevn, tangent, and s&m for the bars and forks on an upcoming chromo frame race bike I'm building

    • @barrynobles95
      @barrynobles95  2 года назад

      I’m loving them so far but I not picky when it comes to that. My honest opinion is, they are all chromo bars with different bends. More about what brand your into ya know

    what is the purpose in running such big tires on your race bike wouldn’t you want skinnier tires for less rolling resistance

    • @barrynobles95
      @barrynobles95  2 года назад

      Yes and no. You still have to have good traction in turns which is where the tires are taking the most force

  • @underscore_tip

    so the difference is just the forks? Could I just keep a fork/wheel combo around and switch whenever I feel like it?

    • @barrynobles95

      Chromo fork. Tire size. Longer cable. Heavy gear. higher bars. Padded seat.
