The biggest thing about Barry Nobles is this pro has always tried to help anyone and he is very versatile he can bmx down hill freestyle he is someone that is not Fake he also gives you his personal life which Is amazing I’m just telling y’all I grew up in BMX racing form he knows about rad But this man could still go to Olympics this man is the real deal the grands and what he did simply amazing !!! And he’s a damn good role model
I wanna see Kelsie on a cruiser on Grands next year. See you train her for a year and see how you react as a trainer/technician/coach/supporter and husband, thats a challenge. Trust me i have done it.
This is how you should make a bike check, it's so nice to watch and Barry is such a cool guy!! I just bought my first bmx racing bike so I'm already stoked!! :) All the best in 2021!!
Definitely glad seeing u back on a bmx. Glad u mentioned about cranks as i thought same thing about my mtb, rd bike are 165 and my freestyle and bmx are 175.
Nice job. I have been mountain biking for 20+ years and my 7 soon to be 8 year old just started BMX racing this year. It has really helped his mountain biking and vice versa. I would like to see more of your clinic style videos. How to bunnyhop and jump BMX vs Mountain bike. My kid doesn't always listen to me, but man if he sees it on RUclips its gotta be the way.
Loved the insight on cleat position specifically the rotation piece. Good stuff. Stoked on the channel. How about a video on pedal manualing? Best breakdown of complex bmx concepts I’ve seen.
Barry, I’d love to see a cockpit set up video. I grew up bmx racing, and have been on a mountain bike since. Now, I’m jumping back to racing as a 48 year old! I’m curious on brake lever angle, as I run mine pretty high, as the ground is steep on the MTB. BMX seems like you’d want it at a more downward angle. What’s your philosophy between the two disciplines.
This is one of the best bike check videos - I like how you went into the “why” of your setup and not just a list of parts. One question: Did you have to add a spacer to fit that 46T on your Haro?
I have a question. So I have a full steel frame with shin eater pedals and gt racing parts on it. How would I get faster? I don’t have enough money to buy a haro bike. I’m just asking about tips to get faster. I took the advice from your gate video. How to get more out of the pedal. It’s a 20in tire bike. And I watched how you raced and I’m getting started this winter with USA bmx
Question: I FUDGING LOVE HARO!!! My racing career finished in 88 racing Superclass in the UK. I finished on a Haro Group 1 RS1. A dino compared to that baby of yours. Have you ever ridden an old school 80s bike on a track? Would you call out any of the 80s riders to race on 80s bikes???? Cmon, that would be pretty epic!?!? Think Mike Tyson.. PPV... lol.
Hey Barry been watching your videos for a while and finally signed in to subscribe to your account. Enjoy all your content and regularly watch your videos during my lunch break as an escape from daily grind. Keep it coming!
Thanks Barry! Quick question: How many teeth on your Cog? I really enjoyed your Grands video and the one with the Rail Yard in Rogers AR. I live 15 minutes from there. :)
Watching this video helps me build my 2021 season bike racing in 21-25 Ex in pnw. What I’d like to see is how you train on the off-season. Gym, sprints, track life. How are you going to prepare for 2021
Love the carbon just switched a couple yrs ago, was still racing my 95 monocoque haha, went to carbon and won't go back, love the content of your videos, great info and you seem to have a great personality, great with kids. Great job on the grands! HARO ride or die
Another great video on bike setup. Making sure to set the bike for my own riding style is key. Your beginner and advance gate starts have helped me tremendously! I really appreciate and thank you for making those. Could you make a video on how to manual rollers? I am having some difficulty with body position and where to extend my legs to complete the new skill. Definitely subscribed and looking forward to the next one!!
So gearing on a bike is always a question for me when setting my boys bikes. Depending on tracks do you change the gearing. If so can you hook up a video?
I’ve never turned pro, but I’ve had a decent run in my younger years and from my experience I’ve always had the best luck staying on the same gear, I did some experimenting when I was younger but once I was 13 and put on the 44-16 that’s what I stuck with on all tracks, even slight changes would make me feel like I just wasnt moving or just spinning my legs off. Muscle memory plays a large part in it as well.
used to live across the street from Nomura racing in SB 7980 . Remember going to the track in Van Nuys paper plates and taped foam remember those days 😂NBA , what size back sprocket are you running ? These days
Another banger edit. Great info and I'm a mtn biker. But it all kind follows the same path. Now a proper trail edit would be sweet not just jumps. But proper trail spot
So I raced back in the 80’s. I’m contemplating having a go again for “fun,”, we know it won’t just be that. New tracks are very diff. Maybe some vids in how to relearn manuals,,,🤷🏻♂️. Not a great jumper here😖
Was a little surprised you’re running the 21” xl frame! I would’ve guessed you were on the 20.5 do you find the longer TT gives you a better pull out of the gate being a shorter guy? (Not to be derogatory at all!) I’m 6’4 so until recent years the 21” was the longest frames I’d be able to find it was a bit uncommon for shorter people to run them. Now a days I’m actually running the 22” frames and they’re the perfect bike for my height so fun to ride 😂
The frame is like $1060 and the fork is like almost $300 in the tires I think the ones you got were like 500 that’ll take me a lot of saving I’ll just buy the hero black out for now and when I get really good I’ll get the bike you have because that’s my dream bike and a lot of other pros
Another great vid dude. Haro was my first choice when I got back into BMX , unfortunately at the time the pro xl was impossible to find. So I went with the DK and now the TNT thanks to a sponsorship. My question is, I’m also a short guy 5’8” but have long legs. The 46 tooth in the front seems big. What do you run in the rear for a gear?
@BarryNobles man does that thing looks fast 💨 and it’s on the stand! Lol my first legit bmx bike was the Haro Group 1, had one in yellow, and red as well. Super good bikes, i actually just wiped the dust off my early 2000s Ryan Nyquist Haro park bike. She is a bit on the heavy side compared to the bikes of present time. I like to call that TRACTION! Lol if your ever passing thru Tennessee check out #CookevilleSkatePark. We are directly in the middle of Nashville and Knoxville in I-40. Good luck brother, and safe travels.
How tall are you? I'm 5'6" and looking into changing my crank length. It seems to take forever even though I'm a novice. I have only got the gate really well once but I have heard some things you suggested that will improve this quickly.
Just getting into a ring bmx with a few friends. The how to videos and bike builds are great.
I like how you Interact with the younger riders And definitely think you should keep racing

Getting back into racing after a few years away. Thanks for giving the most detailed bike check ever! Helps a ton! Thanks!
It's awesome your back racing. You totally rip. Just hit my first Grands this year, I'm 51. You're a great RUclips coach.
Just got my kids into racing last spring and we really enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming

BMX needs more Barry Nobles.
And that they will have

I only discovered you a while ago and let me just say that you are so under rated
More bmx racing videos!
Definitely glad seeing u back on a bmx. Glad u mentioned about cranks as i thought same thing about my mtb, rd bike are 165 and my freestyle and bmx are 175.
Love your videos, your bike and everything, I'm using some of the key elements from your build to build mine.
Trying to get back into the sport. Very helpful video!

Awesome race Barry race!!!
Good to see you back on the track
Incredible run at the grands! You got Tyler next year. I thought you would be a DK rider for life.
U should make a second straight on the bmx track. If u want to
In my yard? I plan to just need a get a machine out here again
Need to show us your favorite jersey and pants and helmet combos
I think that you should try putting a bunch of freestyle parts on a race bike and see how good it would be for dirt jumps
Haha literally all I would change is the carbon fork to a chromo
I'd like to see more track stuff with the timing system. Maybe get some rhythm section times and talk about the adjustments you make to improve

Yeah, and I may have missed it, but how many teeth on the rear?

I have a question. So I have a full steel frame with shin eater pedals and gt racing parts on it. How would I get faster? I don’t have enough money to buy a haro bike. I’m just asking about tips to get faster. I took the advice from your gate video. How to get more out of the pedal. It’s a 20in tire bike. Basically how you get better by yourself is just trying different things that’s how I got better
sprints are very important to get faster. Checl out my ep 1 come back video and watch the way I do those sprints, I hope that helps!
@barrynobles thank you
Do all of it it’s all awesome

Let's see a tour of the shop
I’m thinking about getting back into it I quit because I broke both my arms at the same time and I’m on a tight budget what should I get
What is the right sprocket and chainring for a bmx race bike ???
Awesome vid man. Some great advice.
Thanks for detailed explanations!
Would helium in the tires make the bike lighter 🤔
Whats the gear ratio? Dont think you said what the rear cog size was
What gearing do you run? 46-? On a 170 crank lol just curious
Sorry forgot to mention that part. 46/17
what's your gearing ratio in the rear?
Hey have you ever tried an oval chain ring ?
Can you come to Dixie land national in 2021
I just may!

When are you going to switch to a hydraulic Disk brake on your Haro or if your going to?
