All great songs! My wife and I got married in August of 1974 ( just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary). For our honeymoon, we drove from northern Missouri to Jackson, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons. Our 1974 Chevrolet Nova only had an AM radio. On our drive across Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming, we would search the dial for a rock station. No matter where we were, the one song that was a constant was “The Night Chicago Died” by Paper Lace. That song became our honeymoon song. Thanks for the memories!
I have a to say, when I think of songs from 1974 the first two that come to mind is George McCrae's "Rock Your Baby" or The Hues Corporation's "Rock The Boat". And no, I did not grow up "in the hood".
You lost me right out of the gate-as others mentioned ABBA's Dancin' Queen was released in August 1976. Hard to listen any further when you can't get your facts straight.
Skynyrd was my choice of the 1st 3. Not a Pop fan.🤮 BTO was great. Bennie and the Jets was one of my favorite songs in High School. Piano Man was cool.
What exactly does forgotten mean? I vividly remember most these, many with great affection and most i bought. If you are impling they don't as much air play as when they did when first released thirty to fifty years ago makes them forgotten, then that's supreme nonsense with the number of new releases every week competing for air play.
Great memories!
Thanks.
Gonna use that line 'Like a rattlesnake in a pickle jar.'😂
Wow brings back memories. 1974 was my favorite year. Met my wife in September 1974, 50 years ago. We danced to all these songs.
The stammering in You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet made the song.
All great songs!

I was 16 years old and remember them all well
i graduated high school in 74. loved the rock n roll! (didn't care for disco)
Whoever did this seriously need to research ABBA a helluva lot better. ABBA released DANCING QUEEN in 1976, not 1974
1974 was the year of ABBA's "Waterloo" winning the Eurovision Contest, and became their first worldwide hit.
@@MetFan37, yes, but Dancing Queen came out in 1976. Released on the album Arrival.
ABBA's Dancing Queen also won the Eurovision for 1974 for the country of Sweden!! This might be worth mention on your show!!
Wrong. That song was Waterloo.
ABBA'S Dancing Queen was NOT 1974 . It was April 1977 . And it was a number 1 song . I remember when I bought it on a 45 . I was in the sixth grade .
The way we were , not tripping. Y trigger, everything is rocken !
'Waterloo' was ABBAs big hit of 74, You left out Paul Anka's 'Having My Baby'
You lost me right out of the gate-as others mentioned ABBA's Dancin' Queen was released in August 1976. Hard to listen any further when you can't get your facts straight.
Dancing Queen
I do have to admit "Oh La La" by the Faces l have no recollection of ever hearing it get air play.
Tom Hanks, in Big having sing “The way we were” to his mother
to prove he was ok, Jon Lovitz looking on, Hilarious!
This list is very hit and miss.
Well obviously the Do Not Recommend Button is the right move for this creator.
Superstar Carpenters.
the year that saw me turn from a little boy to a young man in love.
Skynyrd was my choice of the 1st 3. Not a Pop fan.🤮 BTO was great. Bennie and the Jets was one of my favorite songs in High School. Piano Man was cool.
Only sweet home of the first 3 weren’t turned off when it came on
Sorry Abba wasn't 1974
Don henley and heart backwards

Eltoooooon.
Fancing Queen was a hit in 1976 in Europe and 1977 in the U.S. It was NOT in 1974.
You talk too much
Abba WASN'T 74 guys......
Not that song anyway
