1991 Number One Hits For An Entire Year
I love The Grass Roots!! Rob was a friend of mine! I have all their music❤
Mary wells was the best of this era
Only in the USA.
There's a reason three-fourths of these were forgotten.
Alice Cooper and Stevie Wonder are by far the best on this list.
1975 Pop Chart was amazing!
King of the road 1975 really I think you're off by at least a decade😅
Great songs, I’m just surprised that there was only 1 Beatles #1 hit in 1964. I thought the height of the Beatles invasion happened in 1964, especially after the Ed Sullivan Show. In February of 1964. I actually researched the billboards top 100, and it said they had 6 . I want to hold your Hand, She Loves You, Can’t Buy Me Love, Love Me Do, A Hard Days Night, and I Feel Fine on the last chart of the year. Ironically it did not mention Twist and Shout as a #1.
Dirtee deets thunder Chief!!
Forgotten by who. Most known of all these easily 😮😅
Oh yeah - The Doobies ❤❤
It's all over now
Chic didn't exist until 77
Ooh Love All these songs 💓 at 60yrs old now
Remember it like yesterday. What I don't understand how 55 years could pass so quickly.
Moved to Oregon in August of 67. Most memorable songs on the radio to me were, Come on down to my boat baby, First there is a mountain by Donovan and Can't take my eyes off of you. Moved to Oregon and the Yellow Balloon were from the next town over.
Where did my youth go????
The song Skyhigh was also part of the soundtrack for the movie The Man from Hong Kong with Jimmy Wang You filmed in Australia
the picture of the band at 11:29 is the band Boston.
Hold me close Tony Danza 😊
1972 the year I graduated highschool. What wonderful memories ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😆😆😆😆😆😆😆🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
A. i. Narration sucks
How Can i Be Sure by The Rascals should have been #1 in 1967.
The songwriting duo of the Soul Survivor's hit "Expressway to Your Heart", Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, were responsible in a large part for the later 60's-70's Philly Soul Explosion with hits for the famous Soul/RnB groups: Intruders, O'Jays, Teddy Pendergrass, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes! In 1967, Gamble and Huff were working on and finishing/releasing the Intruders' first full length LP: The Intruders are Together!
My goodness, my goodness how I missed the 70s it was such a great great great time through the 70s. I certainly miss it.😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
What year for music 💯% Everyone of these songs are phenomenal 🙌❤️👏
1979 was my graduation year and induction into the Navy. Great year for me and these were just a few songs that were hot that year.
I graduated h.s. in '79 also...The 70's was a great time to be a teenager, especially now, looking back...Wouldn't trade my amazing memories for anything...The music, the freedom, the non violence...I feel sorry for today's kids, especially with all the technology, the kids don't experience life, simple fun and nature beyond their phones, keyboards and remote controls....😢
Dang! Brings back some awesome childhood memories!!!
Thank you for recognizing Elvis Presley 😊
I was 13.... BIG fan of Wings, Linda, Average White Band, America.... what a decade for music.
Fantastic songs but some of these are well into 1972
I go graduated in 1975. My boyfriend we were both 16 and married at 22. Beautiful memories!!!💖💕
Not all are hit
DR.Hook, when your in love with a beautiful woman should be on a list of best songs of 1979.
I liked every one of these Songs! I was 13 years old in 1965.
Radar Love 1974. Remember it well, I was in the United States Marine Corps.
So very, very tired of all the pop artists today and the ridiculous promotion. Give me good, honest, hard working artists like the ones mentioned here and so many others of the time.
PARANOID for the win
Only one I know is the BCR. They were fantastic.
4, 5, 6, 8, I know. The rest NO.
TIMOTHY IS ABOUT IS ABOUT THREE PEOPLE, I GUESS 3 GUYS BEING TRAPPED IN A MINE, AND THEY EAT TIMOTHY. WHO IS NOT A DONKEY. I FOUND THAT OUT LONG AFTER THE SONG WAS NO LONGER ON THE CHARTS. THEY EAT THE THGIRD MEMBER OF THEIR PARTY. THAT EXPLAINS WHY HE IS SO UPSET, AFTER BEING RESCUED. HE SAYS THEIR TUMMIES WERE A FULL AS FULL CAN BE. BUT NO ONE EVER GOT AROUND TO FINDING TIMOTHY. HE GOES ON TO EXCLAIM, "OH GOD WHAT DID WE DO?" AND I JUST GOT IT CONFIRMED. AS FOR "CONQISTADOR" IT WAS RELEASED 2X. ONCE IN 1967 ON THEIR SELF TITLED LP. AND THEN AGAIN IN 1972. THE SECOND TIME THEY WERE BACKED WITH THE EDMOTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, IN 1972. I REMEMBER THE VERSION WITH THE EDMONTON SYMPHONY ORCHESRTA. SAW A VIDEO WITH THAT VERSION.
America and Doobie Bothers, only 2 songs I liked! Was never into the disco stuff.
The Hustle epitomize the 1970's for me. I close my eyes, and I'm a carefree kid again.
K, gonna have to disagree with the stamp-peders, lol! Sry, just couldnt resist. Finished watching and soon after re-starting i heard " Nick Glider!" Couldve added Patrick Hernandez Born to be Alive on the list. Just sayn.
Gold Dust Woman? C'mon now!
What a year that was. Just a 16 year old child soldier 🪖 in the jungle. The experience was worth it. Most of those songs might have kept me alive ❤.
In the Air Force Chanute AFB
It's about time that they had a Neil Diamond hit on one of these lists.... The 1972 Hot August Night album is the best live album of all time! I was there....
Why is the narration on this video so negative about modern music? Times change. Get over it.
