- I have been out on the green lanes on my KTM 300 TPI for a while now and remembered that its not the easiest to find them so though I would put a little guide out there for you as a bit of a how to guide. I really hope this has helped you understand things a bit more about the off road world in the UK and how to find the lanes, but if you do want any more information please take a look at the link below.

Thank you pall, appreciate this 😁👍
Removed your last comment instead of reply 🤦 wave next time 👌
I applaud you bud for being respectful :)
Letting that horse pass gives us riders a good rap !
You've just gained another subscriber from a like minded rider ! (wow that even rhymes lol)
Do I have to reply in a poem 🤣 no I appreciate that mate 👍
@@DITLO58 haha :) reply much appreciated :)
That 3rd lane is deadly in the wet, I had a bad crash on the chalk. Right on my doorstep those lanes. cheers for the upload.
Yea you can easily get stuck in a rut and slip out. All good fun, might see you out there 👍
Good tip lads join your local TRF they have GRM green road map where ever you live you can see all the green lanes marked clearly
Easy to access on your phone 👍
Brilliant vid Sam. I've just got a new app for laneing you can pick all the routes in your area or wherever and just click navigate and it links them all up. I'll send it over 😊
Ahh thank you mate. Yea definitely send it over my friend, there are probably loads more than i actually know about 👍👍
Could you let me know why app does this please would be a massive help. I’m using TW2 at the moment
@@Warner1981 I haven't tried this too much but might help mate. www.outdooractive.com/en/r/144490655?
Hey where are you from ? We ride Kent by ways and are always looking for new routes
@@rich6237 hi mate, I live in medway so I do a lot around bluebell hill but I go all over Kent and there are acctually loads of lanes around 👌
There are also “green ways” (isle of man) and “public ways” (Lake District), I didn’t know until last year and I thought that those areas don’t have any of those as nothing is shown on the byway maps
This makes a lot of sense, I thought the same thing when looking on the byway map. Thanks 👍👍
By ‘Public ways’…..are you referring to ORPA’s?
Great video! I am keen to get into green laning also, it is a good break from sitting at the computer
100% mate and thank you it's nice when people realise the efforts to make a video 😀,
The laning is so easy. A good couple of hours out on the bike to get your sanity back. What bike do you think you wauld go for?
@@DITLO58 exactly, super refreshing to go for a ride. I am not sure, maybe the Honda CRF300
Or the Beta because it is lighter and I can put it on the back of the car without a trailer
@@eddiejaoude yea nice one, I just have a bike rack on my tow bar. That way I can travel to some lanes in another area. Go riding then just drive home 👍 good luck with it though 😁
@@DITLO58 oh nice! what bike and bike rack do you have? I thought the Honda and KTM would be too heavy for it, hence the interest in Beta which I understand is lighter
If lane 3 is a Restricted Byway, it's illegal to ride a motorbike on it.
i KNOW THOSE LANES AS I'M FROM MAIDSTONE😀 I have many routes plotted as far out as east kent👍You're not allowed on bridleways/footpaths or restricted byways👍 The KCC interactive map shows all the byways and their status
Nice one mate, just getting out and about it the main thing. It's just finding the time at the moment 🤙
Do you need a motorcycle licence to ride a dirt bike in a green lane?
@@Funny_clips62 yes same as normal roads 👍 A1 licence for 125cc and A2 for 125cc and up 😁 hope that helps 👌
Just bought an enduro bike so soon be out finding the hidden green lanes of Kent
Brilliant mate, I love that. There are loads to find so let me know how you get on. What bike did you get?
@@DITLO58 went with ktm in the end winter toy been looking at a few sites for locations a lot have been gated but quiet a few in the wrotham area
@@CrazyBikeRiderrrHonda good choice mate. Yes there's loads around Meopham as well. Google byway map and that should help bud 😁
Maidstone i think im near by, thinking about starting because i never ride my road bikes. I am too old to spend my time at 120 + just to stop my back aching. You name it i have ridden it off-road even a 1200 bandit. 😅
Could you recommend any group's local to get a wheel spin with.
Yep all around Maidstone mate. Haha I know what you mean about the back pain. You definitely should try it out, it's a great way to get the 120 feeling without the danger. You can always sell the bike if you don't like it 😁
damn im so lucky, i have salibury plains 5 miles from me. Pretty sure it has something like 300km in lanes and is bigger the isle of white
just to add. if you use bing maps, use Ordnance survey and it will show all byways you can ride in
Yea, definitely lucky my friend. We do have a good amount here but nothing too difficult. I would love to come across and ride the planes, just don't have the time at the moment. 👍
Might be a daft question, but is that bike road legal? I’m wanting to get started but unsure were I stand in regards to getting from green lane to green lane, do you just drive on the road on a non road legal bike basically?
@@XPJamie hay, so green lanes are classed as roads. So you will need to have a fully road legal bike and have a bike leicence to ride on them. Hope this helps 👍
@@DITLO58 thanks for the response mate 👍🏼
Hey that was my car that went by at the start of the video
Ah no way. Which one? 😁
I would be lifting the needle one notch, it's lean.
👍👍 Thank you
It's pretty difficult to lift the needle a notch when the bike is fuel injected! (TPI)
is this suitable for a grom?
@@rocco5572 you could probably get down a few in the summer but wouldn't really recommend it, just for your bikes sake 👍
and I thought the lanes around here were crap.
Ah bless you
Thank you but God isn't really my thing 🙏👍 bless you too 😂
Why noooottttt😅😅😅😅😅
