IU & V duet on IU’s Pallet!
Yes V was blind in one eye and she was deaf. That is why you see her using sign language and she was leading him because of his sight. Through the camera lens they were perfect. There is a director’s explanation of the video. It’s very deep. I cried my heart out for about the first 50 times I saw it and cried with every reactor who saw it and cried. Everyone had the same reaction. It’s so beautiful. IU is amazing and yes…she sings like an Angel. V is an actor and she is as well. V worked on a K-Drama before and he’s very good. His acting in this video was incredible. When he went after the cube in the end and fell back and they locked hands it took my breath away. She squeezed his hand 3 times to say I love you because she was dead and mute. It’s so beautiful but so so sad. This video is a masterpiece!
IU has also done a good deal of acting (e.g. K-Dramas like 'My Mister'). IU has also worked with Suga a few times. I also heard that the cubes were purifying' the society by removing imperfect people (aka people with handicaps, etc). Lots of interpretations have been put forth.

IU, 16 years in the business, biggest star in Korea, I've seen other idols break down in tears on meeting her. About to play Wembley stadium UK on her world tour. She's also acted in some of the most legendary K-dramas ever.
I'm not a big fan of her music, but when I was in South Korea in 2018, she was DEFINITELY the most well known person in the country.

“I don’t need to cry today.” Me immediately saying, “Oh, you’re gonna cry.” 🤣 I was speechless and choked up for my first viewing.
I’m so glad that I.U. chose V to act in this mv with her. She has acted in a lot of dramas but Tae has only acted in one, Hwarang, in which he did a great job. We live in hope of him acting again. He has three actor friends in The Wooga Squad to cheer him on so fingers crossed. I.U. Is same age friends with SUGA so they are quite close. She has a show called I.U.’s Palette and V has been one of her guests as has SUGA and J-Hope. It’s really worth a watch.
Apparently The director wanted an actor who could - simultaneously portray a sense of both strength and vulnerability. IU thought that was a hard ask - then almost immediately thought of Tae.
And I think we all agree he was the perfect choice.

Ughhh I cry every time!! Their acting is perfection and the song is so emotional! Part of the vulnerability you hear in her voice is because she was really sick when she did the official recording, but they'd already pushed it back several time and IU had no choice but to do it. Which was awful for her, but I think it added a beautiful exhaustion to her voice that fits the song so well. There's behind the scenes from both IU and BTS' channels that give different perspectives to how this MV came about and the hard conditions they worked through (below freezing weather, catching a fever, constantly running) that you should definitely watch, even on you own time!

IU/Lee Ji-eun is a South Korean actress, singer, songwriter and record producer. She debuted in 2008 with her 1st EP or 1st Album "Lost and Found". IU is called "Nation's Little Sister". I love her music so much. She is one of my favorite solo artists. She is such a beauty ! I really adore her. She is THE BEST.
IU is a huge star in South Korea. I remember seeing a video of BTS in their earlier years at some award show and they were supposed to sit in the same seat row as IU. And it was JK who would be the one to sit next to her, but he was too shy and kept trying to make the others take his place. But he ended up sitting next to her and kept his eyes trained in the other direction. Now they all know her, of course, and V has made this video!
IU is one of Korea's biggest sweethearts! I think she's probably the biggest/most famous female artist in Korea. And she's also a talented actress. I don't really follow her music or career, but i believe she was the main female lead in a kdrama.

Regarding V, he is friends with her for a while and He did a duet with her in her show Palette. Suga and J-hope also appeared in Palette and sang with her their songs. I didn't realize how big IU is in korea until this song released. My entire feed was idols and korean music content creators covering this song and live performing it, for weeks. It's like "Hey THE KPOP QUEEN released a masterpiece we have to sing it to prove that we can sing"😅

She have been in industry as a Singer for 15 years and as an actor for 13 years.She is so popular in sk and she is like a best friend with Taehyung and suga and she also have song called eight which was produced by suga and he was featured as rapper and she was also on people pt 2 by suga so check that out too❤️

IU has a program here on youtube, which is called IU pallet. I recommend you watch (I would love to see a reaction of it) the episodes with V and the ones with Suga and JHope. The funny thing is IU and Suga are really good friends, and everyone knows about this. But we just discovered she was a really good friend with V during that episode. No one knew how close they were. Those three episodes are really wholesome to watch 💜
V did a K-Drama called "Hwarang" a few years ago and he did a fantastic job acting in it. He is good friends with several of the guys he acted with to this day. He may go into acting professionally in the future after BTS. He has mentioned the possibility. You see she was using sign language to V. It definitely got to me and they both did great at acting. He wasn't blind on that eye to begin with but became that way because of the "Cube" I guess. They wanted to protect each other. V's MV for "Friends" is really good too if you haven't seen it yet.

Welcome to the rabbit hole, part 2: IU! imho this video should receive the Oscar for short films. I've never been so affected or invested in a film so quickly. Other commenters have suggested loads of great collaborations, just work your way through one at a time. I love "Eight" by IU, produced by and featuring Suga. There are explanations how the different characters portrayed represent 3 idols who tragically are no longer with us. Bouncy on the surface, heartbreaking once you know that.

Whenever I listen to this song it always brings a tear to my eyes and tbh I have never watched the MV as bits of it I have seen make me cry straight away and if I watch the entire mv I'll be q crying mess at the end of it.
Side note both IU and Tae were amazing actors and the story they told also brought me to tears
IU's voice is SO gorgeous. She actually done another collaboraton with Suga too, where he both produced the track and also had a rap part in it. It's called "eight" and most likely dedicated to two of her friends, who unforunately passed away young due to suicide.

This was filmed over 2 days in extremely cold weather before IU did the master track. She was very ill with flu the next day when she recorded. That rawness and vulnerability came out in her recording. Magnificent.

More character development in 5 minutes than I’ve seen in many feature films. It’s all there. Stunning piece of work, and the song is achingly beautiful. I couldn’t get enough of this when it first came out. IU and Tae are both also actors and they knocked this out of the park.

it really got to me the first few times and can still do that now. There are behind the scenes on Bangtantv and IU's official channels. V, Suga, and J-hope all had guest appearances on IU's palette. Watch IU's Hotel del Luna and V in Hwarang. He learned a lot from the older actors on set.

It’s a hauntingly beautiful metaphor for living in society/outside society with disability. V blew us away with his perfect vulnerability in acting. IU is amazing the top female soloist in Korea. She has two songs with Suga both of which he produced (a song for her Eight, a song in his album People pt 2). A lot of BTS like to do song exchanges where I feature in your song you feature in mine. But yes many/all have collabs (Jin might not??? Can’t remember one).
This is one song that when you close your eyes and just listen to IU it hits your soul !

Hi, speaking of Suga, he also has colabrated with IU on a couple of projects - “eight” (Prod & feat. SUGA of BTS) and Agust D 'People Pt.2 (feat. IU)' Hopefully in the future we will get even more calbrations, JK loves her. - And yes the members have bunches of features with other artists. - V is incredible in this MV and it's easy to see why IU is the “Nation’s Sweetheart”" of South Korea.

What did we think of the acting - and the MV as a whole? I think the general consensus was - We Want The Rest Of The Movie , or TV Series, that should have been from. There were tears shed, all around. It was amazing. Also, in the credits at the end of the MV, the last listing is "Guest Appearance - The Cube". Which had me go from crying to laughing.
IU is "The Nation's Little Sister". She (I believe) the same age as Suga from BTS (and they have worked together twice - on the IU song "Eight", and the Agust D/Suga song "People pt 2"). However she debuted about 5 years earlier than BTS (I think), and is much beloved in South Korea. She is - as you just saw - a talented singer, and has acted in K-Dramas. V (in 2016) acted in the historical drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" (usually simply referred to as Hwarang) - and it's AMAZING (I've watched it 5 times).
Omg, this song! I can't watch without crying. It's a beautiful song, story, & MV & IU & V delivered a stunning performance, but after watching it the first time I was so choked up sobbing, I could hardly breathe. "My God!" I thought, "What is happening?! I am a grown ass woman FFS, calm down it's a video!" For this reason, I didn't watch it again til now. I thought enough time had passed... NOPE!
The song itself obviously should be in the running for Song Of The Year and the MV even more so.

You must react her live performances. They’re insane. Fyi, she is in her world tour right now, on 21st june, she will be in London ( ovo arena ) for her 1st concert there.
Love Wins All is most likely to sweep both song of the year and MV of the year at the awards ceremony. It was directed by a noted film director Um Tae Hwa who did Concrete Utopia, a disaster film. Recognizing Spring Day is right on, but both this and the scene in Spring Day are based upon an art exhibit in 2010 by French artist Christian Botalski called No Mans Land. It also draws upon the imagery of the Holocaust where piles of clothing and other items were often the only thing left after Jews and others were driven into the showers at the concentration camp. The director of the mv also said that the cube represents prejudice and discrimination towards the main characters; through the "lens of love" of the video camera, we can see their true appearance. Even though it is a sad ending, in a way it is joyful, because with love they died together and "flew away", showing us they are free.
Resistance is not futile and even in death sometimes love does win! I cried and cried the first time I saw this. Not only because of the video but because there are young people in this world now and probably to come who are going to have to make some terrible choices and they may die but they will also win.
IU actually did a song with Suga called People, Pt. 2! It’s really good.

- So far Jin has not collaborated with other artists, but he has a song with V called It's Definitely You (part of the soundtrack of the k-drama in which V acted) and he sings together with Jungkook in a special version of So Far Away by Agust D.

IU is ... a legend.
There are 3 most successful music acts in S.Korea in last 15 years : IU, BTS, and Big Bang.
Also in last 5 years, there are 3 most beloved celebrity in there : Yoo Jae Suk (MC), IU, and BTS.
She's an actress as well, with Cannes attendance in 2022 and a modern classic kdrama (series) in My Mister (2018).
Even if you dont understand facts above, this MV alone already told us the fact : this MV need a storyline and proper director, and IU managed to get real award-winning movie director, to direct this. You need a very good credential to be able to do this.
pls react to more iu's stuff, and pls just dont react to exclusively her music or MV only, but also her behind the scene or intervews.
