Since the AFL is playing some games in China and NZ each year it wouldn't surprise me if they try and setup an international league. Not sure how it would work exactly, with different teams and playing internationally, but could be possible.
Freo should wear green and white chevrons away. Or alternate with purple and red alternating with white. Refer to their 1896 jumper if you want an idea of what a full chevron jumper looks like. Its on line.
@@mattn1 A full chevron jumper looks almost identical to Geelong's jumper. Are you saying that is terrible? It worked in 1896, so I'm sure they can make it work 130 years later. The Dockers can't wear the 90a away kit. It has to be an "alternative" with predominantly light colours. But the current white one with 3 Vs / chevrons is a shocker, with matching white shorts and socks. But they have to embrace the green before Tassie steal it for ever. A very light frosty green with Vs look ok. As does a light grey-violet. But the all white jumper is definitely a docker shocker.
@@mattn1 prison bar stripes for instance was a typical 1890s look and it still works for Port. Certainly Freo have had a shocking record of jumpers over their history. The traditional anchors looked like a seagull. Then the supposedly traditional chevrons are just three white Vs. They changed from a purple to a very dark colour resembling navy. They've dropped green and red. Their all white jumper makes them look like soccer players or tennis players... an all white shocker docker. Then they mess around with black and grey. What's going on at the joint. For a traditional round they should certainly experiment with the full chevrons, if the anchors are considered bad luck. And even if they keep the three narrow insipid chevrons, they should include green red and white. History is important and Freo is a club that has dropped all references to Freo (apart from name) and maritime. There is no docker on the logo and no anchor. The 1990s purple is long gone as they try to resemble Carlton or the big V. The clubs needs to look at the Eagles and see how well they manage jumpers, logos and branding.
@BDub2024 If anything Freo should go back to the og anchor without the red and green, maybe bring the classic colours back for the derby. The current Freo logo does have an anchor on it btw
