Little bit of background to this video: it's actually a remake of the first ever video we uploaded. back then our production skills were a lot less polished and we've always felt like going back and giving Jim the production quality his story warrants, so here it is! On a side note, we've really appreciated the feedback and content requests that have been flowing in the last few weeks so are keen to add some more tactical/analytical features back to the agenda in the near future too, so keep them coming :)
Growing up I was lucky enough to be family friends with Jim Stynes' family and was mates with his son. A great footy player, person, and father taken too soon ❤
Still so sad. I don't think you'd find anyone who didn't admire Stynes as a player and as a person, regardless of the club they supported. Thanks for the video, you've done well.
Stynes had won an u18 'flag' for his county and was playing with the senior county team when he left for Australia. Thats the highest level you can play at in Ireland, so he was no stand in. He was earmarked as a future star in ireland so to leave was a monumental decision. I can't fully explain the culture and ethos that he went against in making that decision. Huge respect for that
@@hopandsolo yeah, but we are talking about Australia. People obviously would understand college as university because of american films. College can mean a trades school etc... but the wide term for University in Australia is Uni. Most high schools would have the name "college" in them.

Doing a video on Michael Long would be cool, the introduction of the long walk he had a pretty good career aswell.
This is really cool, I haven’t heard about this story yet
More than a game indeed. Great video to celebrate a real hero.
*_Keep making videos like this, theyre so good!_*
5:31 - The good old 1889 - 1890 season, shame 8 odd years before the commencement of the VFL still wasn't good enough to win that year
Editing error. I know this comment is a joke.

:O
I believe if Jim had done in the NFL what he did in the AFL (and Australia in general), they would have made an Oscar-bait movie about him
Great to see this side of the game, amazing video!
Thanks Jaz!
Love the content! Please keep uploading you’re one of the best afl creators ❤
5:27. Some mistakes on the years. But minor and easy mistake. The video is truly amazing and highlights an amazing career
Jim has the record for the most consecutive games of any V/AFL player
can do one for 23/24 seasons? two of the greatest GF games of all time and the start of the current demons dynasty
Please don't say "college" college is highschool. Say uni... enough americanisms...
In Ireland college is uni, secondary school is high school
