Oh my.... I was half-way through my design course, I looked at so many fashion magazines, I even remember some of the ads... and I have kept a few really great fashion images and some complete Australian, British and American Harper's Bazaar and Vogue.. The advertising was great.. and my mother had the autumn toned Cannon sheets near the start, such great quality, you couldn't wear them out... in fact we gave them away to a new home! I also remember buying Wamsutta sheets here, long before my first trip to the US in 1980, then always came home with sheets, it was before Aussie brand Sheridan, an came to be. Thank You, it's wonderful to look back, even if the fashion seems so dated now. 🦘
I love your channel and to the person who said why is this of interest to people in 2024?? Well, for people like me who still believe in marriage, family dinners, fine linens, china and silverware!!! What a very silly question- I find it fascinating and was hoping you would put others mags. up and you did. I also love that you just waft through the pages and let them speak for themselves without a lot of person blabber!! How many channels do that now-a-Days. I have passed down all of my marital traditions and my 21 yr old had started her "hope chest" . For anyone who does not appreciate this king of thing I truly feel sorry for you ie happily married 33 years by the way.
Mostly empire waists, perfect for the pregnant bride of which there was a rash of. Legal abortion was years away and the family doctor was not writing birth control prescriptions for single girls. Also, being married was a way to avoid going to Vietnam.
Many brides like to incorporate details from previous decades into their weddings. Also there are fashion stylists and designers who like to use these magazines for research and inspiration. Fashions come and go and many things from the past get integrated into current trends and styles.

Even with a lovely dress, very strange hats.
Liked a number of gowns,but those veils, look like a bird's nest, on the poor models heads.
