It's a total mystery to me how brides can appear in church, in front of their pastor, Dad, brothers, male relatives and children with half their boobs showing. At least, til you meet their mothers.

Princess Anne was married in 1971. Her high-necked dress was considered very fashionable.

As an elementary schoolgirl went to lots of weddings during the early 1970's. All Saturday morning weddings, cake and punch was main feature of simple, warm, easy, caring conversation-filled receptions.

Pricey but beautiful

Married early September that year. My dress had a high lace collar and long sleeves. I went against the trend at the time of empire style and found a dress with a natural fitted waistline. My waist was small in those days, LOL.
