Definitely the servo is mad slow. Traxxas supplys trash servos for all their trucks, complete garbage. Their ESC's are also buttass trash. Upgrading is always the best route.
What’s your thoughts on your modification now this long after this video was created? Still a good thing? I didn’t see a list of the suggested parts used for the modification neither. That would be helpful. Do the latest 2023 Maxx’s have the same configuration as yours, or have they made any changes to those parts!?! Thanks for the video and your reply. Stay safe!
This is a must motification for every taxxas maxx car even the xmaxx. This motification has and will hold up to time because its tight really good from both ends of the screw. And yes its a good thing because if you dont do this your stearing is going to suck and you will just loose the ability to turn after the servo saver wastes it self after turning over and over after all your uses. When it comes to parts i talk about it on the video what you need to buy from any local harware store but did not leave it in the description just showed it on camera and you can pause the video and see.I am still new to this youtube thing and learning. The lastest 2023 maxxes are the same and will have the same issues, only difference is longer chasis and come with widekit pre-isnstalled and come with sledgehammer wheels and tires. One thing the new maxxes dont do is nice back flips like the origional one that i have.Since you have shorter chasis its easier to flip that bad boy.Traxxas needs to imporve alot on their Rcs and stop making electronics indefinitely all together lol beause they suck.I will be making a video not too long from now on upgrading my cars ESC to a mamba X cascle creations and turn my maxx into 6s.Let hope after all the research i did on it last a long time not like the trash traxxas one.I burn through 4 esc during my cars warranty period. Thanks for leaving a comment and hope you stay tune for more in the future:)Have a good day.
@@murdernovaltr I do recall you mentioning the parts in the video, but then you did more revisions to the original modification, so I wasn’t sure what the final parts, pieces, and drilling that was or was not necessary. What size were the hex nuts again?
I ordered a aftermarket servo saver and everything for my Maxx, trying to prevent it before it happens lol. I also got the 2085x servo in my Maxx, much better than the 2090 it came with, not fast but fast enough. I don't know what the point is in having a servo turn in 0.02 seconds if your not really racing it anyway.
You made it too tight, its not the mods fault. All this does is add a locknut to better secure the screw, messing with the tension on the servo saver is seperate from this mod
Was looking into this yesterday after upgrading my servo to the 2085x, and noticed the Servo Saver wasn't holding together.. So surely gonna attempt this trick which should do the trick. Generally am I a little tired of the Metal screws on Plastic, I have nearly changed all parts where you're changing parts, like the whole suspension systems ect. because you quickly loose thread to screw into.
I ended up doing the 1/10 servo adapter along with the hot racing adjustable servo saver assembly with the stiffer spring. Get those parts and any hood high torque metal gear servo and it’s a HUGE improvement over the stock parts.
No.No lol,the servo won’t break. This is how the car should have come from the factory but traxxas don’t use there heads sometimes. This is the best thing you can do to the car to have the stearing always working.Trust me.
If you dont make the servo saver tighter than it was, all this mod does is help retain the screw. You can mess up the server if tou tighten down the saver and prevent it from doing its job. Whoever wrecked their servo with this mod just made the saver too tight and therefore transfered more abuse to the servo itself.
@@Azaelyyandel just offering some words of wisdom. I have 3 Maxxs so I know how much better it is once you put a suitable servo in there. It’s almost not enjoyable as it is.
I have the same problem with my kaiju steering. Turn good to the right, not so much to the left. Could it be my servo saver too? Cuz m not sure what going on with the steering.
What do you mean not good recommendation? This is a must mod if you want your stearing to work good all the time.Because the screw traxxas put there come out with all that vibration.
@@millerboyz2421 yeah you can go with that but just know that any metal upgrade is gonna take some stress on other parts and you might fix one issue but create a brand new one with your upgrade. So its your own choice but sometimes staying with plastic on some things is the better way to go:)
Goodluck with the a arms not breaking. The only problem ive ever had with my maxx and i treat it like hell, its the bulkhead both front and back. But other than that im fine with plastic parts.Only thing you really need is steal Driveshafts and youre good to go.But thanks for watching my channel and i hope to keep you as a subscriber:)
thanks this helped my steering alot. Thankyou Sir

You will need a new servo soon.
I did this mod also.
It will destroy the servo arm or the servo itself.

Bro just buy a better servo. Problem solved. That traxxas servo is junk. I threw a 55kg servo and my Maxx is amazing now.

Any 5mm nut and washer combo will work for you.You just have to make sure its a small bumb one, because there os alot of different ones.
