  • Whether you're returning to Tokyo Disney Resort for the first time since the pandemic or planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip, there's A LOT of out-of-date information online about TDR but the resort has changed so much in the last couple of years so it can be difficult to know what's still relevant. That's why I wanted to go over everything that has changed since 2020 (honestly it's pretty boggling how we're still very much in pandemic mode) to make sure you have the best time possible.

Omg nooooo I knew that classic fast pass had finally returned (albeit in a lesser state), I did not know it was tied to the 40th anniversary and possibly on the chopping block again :(

We can hope it’ll remain, but I can’t think of any other reason they’d choose the awful name ‘40th Anniversary Priority Pass’ unless it was to give them wiggle room to start charging for it next year. To be honest I wouldn’t be upset if they just got rid of it. So many standby queues have gone from 5-15 minutes to 45-60 now and the fast moving standby queues were lovely.

@@8bitthemepark oh totally, while the original pre-covid fastpass system was my favorite, I'm fine with absolutely no fast passes or premiere access and just standby/single rider for everything!

@@Tortidis987 I miss Fastpass too. TDR had just got it working with the app too before they took it away from us 😢

I think the lack of dancers in the entertainments is less about the budget and more about the number of dancers itself. I think OLC is having a hard time bringing back the dancers after covid and have to choose which entertainment to put their dancers in. They probably want to have Tokyo Disney Land in the spotlight to make the 40th anniversary event look good, and that's probably why Tokyo Disney Sea is having literally zero dancers in the daytime entertainment. Maybe we'll have everything back next year, but I'm expecting it will take like 2 or 3 years till everything is back to normal.

Yea it’s baby steps for sure. I’m hoping next year we get the theatres open again at DisneySea, then they can start building back their seasonal entertainment.
But maybe Fantasy Springs does such a good job of attracting guests that they don’t need to do anything else? 🤷

Went to DisneySea with my friends right before they introduced the free "40th anniversary fastpass". Didn't regret it at all, the indiana jones queue moved SO FAST, because they only had one queue to move.
Whenever they introduce a second queue, they move so slow. Tower of Terror is a good example. We barely moved.
I think it worked well with:
New/popular ride + high capacity = pay to skip. We did that for soaring.
Everything else should be 1 line.
Gotta get alcohol at Tokyo Disneyland next time ;)

Totally agree!! When the ‘totally not fastpass’ came (back?) I remember telling my friend we were going to miss having standby queues that actually move and I think I was right.
Especially for the smaller rides, Nemo and 20,000 leagues have gone from always being 5-15 minutes to now being 30-50
And yes! Booze in Disneyland is fun!

@@8bitthemepark Yeah it's wierd. 20,000 leagues were an walk-on the entire day we were there. Wouldn't have happened with the fastpass. Which then asks the question why even have it for that ride in the first place?

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  9 месяцев назад +1

@@flack1618 yea it’s dumb. They add these rides that don’t need it just so everyone’s not using it for Indiana Jones, which is the only sensible option. They really need to add Center of the Earth and Tower of Terror, especially if they’re gonna start charging extra.
