- In this video we're listening to another one from The Cramps. We waited way too long to continue this journey with them. We really enjoyed this band's quirky Rockabilly style, and it's time we checked out more. Let's dig in. Enjoy!

Thank you Thank you Thank you i saw these guys at The galaxy night club now The Power Station in 1986 that gig is on vinyl it was an outrageous show LUX INTERIOR was a MADMAN
Love the Psychobilly of The Cramps ! Human Fly 🪰 my favorite track by them.
Saw em in 84 hacienda Manchester and Leeds uni the day after absolutely fantastic
RIP Lux. You were one of a kind. 😢
Absolutely one of my favourite bands of all time. I just love the stripped back, raw sound.
Only ever managed to see them once, mid eighties, so roughly around the time this was released.....it was the only time i seriously thought i might die at a gig.....i was a couple of rows from the front when they came on, the entire crowd surged together and closer to the stage, i had my hands in my pockets as it was freezing in the venue. For the entire first song i was carried by the crowd, unable to get my hands free, scary stuff!....I remember someone threw a shoe on stage, Lux filled it with wine, drank from it, and threw it back.
Something I've always remembered from an interview with the band is a quote from Lux, "aint no-one hipper about sex than we are man"...i think that describes the band pretty well!
Theres some fantastic footage of them on The Tube doing stuff from around this time, recommended.
Edit....when i saw them, Lux had that exact outfit on he has in the outro photo 😂..... and yes Chris, Ivy always played a Gretsch.
That was great, what fun and the vocals where superb! Anarchic splendour with excellent guitar playing, sounds like a Gretch to me too
I saw Brian Setzer in a small venue in California 2016. Rockabilly 🎸‼️
The Cramps are always fun, the track of theirs used in 'Wednesday' was "Goo Goo Muck" from the album 'Off The Bone' one of their best in my opinion, that and 'The Songs That The Lord Taught Us' are two of their best albums. If I remember rightly, you've done "Human Fly" and "I Was a Teenage Werewolf", I also recommend:
"The Way I Walk",
"Sunglasses After Dark",
"Zombie Dance",
"Strychnine",
"Garbageman",
"Bikini Girls with Machine Guns",
"New Kind of Kick".
There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.
I love it 🏴✌️
❤❤❤❤❤
I’m not a Cramps fan but I really did like this when it came out and it’s great to hear it again after all this time 👌
👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering kia ora hello Jay my friend how ya doing? . Me and Strummer are driving to Auckland tomorrow morning to see an old mate's brand new PUNKROCK band it's going to be a blast i know that much Stephen has been playing punkrock since the late eighties he's mean on a guitar 🤘
good to see live Cramps, they make an impression.
38 years later that show is burnt into my mind 😊
I've got lots of SHARK BAIT (surfer) friends
The Cramps are always fun. You should do “ Bikini Girls with Machine Guns “. next.
Seconded!
I love 'The call of the wighat'
This was the first album I bought by the Cramps. I'd heard of them because of their appearance in the 1981 fil "Urgh: A Music War!" But when I saw this cover, 18-yr old me HAD TO taker it home. within a year, I picked up all their earlier albums I could find, and all their releases after this.
That was a bitch to find, as it was originally released on a French label and didn't receive a domestic release at the time. It was my first album by them as well, after reading about them in a Goldmine article.
A Date With Elvis is a great album title !
never gets old
Sadly, RUclips would probably ban the best track off this album, "Can Your Pu**y Do The Dog?"
not quite the same thing but this reminded me of two other artists I used to listen to in the late 80's: The Nails - "88 Lines About 44 Women" and Screaming Blue Messiahs - "I Wanna Be A Flintstone"
Ooft, a Screaming Blue Messiahs fan, we are few and far between!
I still think Sweetwater Pools is one of the finest songs ever......I forget the guitarists name, Bill Carter?....one of the unsung heroes of Rock guitar, the guy is astonishing
Saw these guys about three times. Wild!!!
Anyway, I have a request for a Friday night seeing as that other guy got his way with '"Don't Throw Stones''.
Could you please do Richard Clapton's ''Girls On The Avenue'' (Antipodes) video? It's more Friday night than '"Don't Throw Stones'' and was written about my old stomping ground, Kings Cross and the girls that hang out there. It'd be a thrill! 👋
I remember now , the dog town zephyr boysz, or dee town zee team, is the movie it reminds me of 🏴✌️🏄🏂
Such a great band. There is some great Live video of them if you can find it. I'd suggest "Garbage Man", "Goo Goo Muck", "Green Fuzz" or "Can Your Pussy Do The Dog?".
Live on the Tube (86?) was the best version of this song.
The Meteors - another great Psychobilly band....Try - Johnny remember me, Rhythm of the bell or Wrekin Crew. ❤
Sorry Kia Ora hello family
Check out Goo Goo Muck
That was great, what fun and the vocals where superb! Anarchic splendour with excellent guitar playing, sounds like a Gretch to me too
