- In this episode of Homeworthy French tabletop designer Marie Daâge shows us the art of setting the table---from how to mix different china patterns to arranging simple flowers. For more than 30 years Marie has been creating beautiful collections of hand-painted porcelain. She was one of the first modern designers to combine contrasting designs and colors within a table setting--Marie’s mixture of pattern and color unify her signature style - a melding of stripes, florals and figurative scenes. Her designs evoke the art and style of French living.

I could listen to her talk all day. The full tour was worth every minute. This is filmed so beautifully as well. It’s a whole thing.
Me too!
I wish I was invited to a dinner that lay out such a gorgeous table. We don’t see people doing that anymore.
I could listen Marie Daage every day
I love the idea of different complimenting patterns. Her’s are stunning♥️♥️♥️♥️
That is because she is a porcelien designer by trade & sells to clients. Watch the full length tour of her home & business office
Thank you for bringing in some beauty into my morning!!
An Elegant Home .
To live this life complete, so elevated.
The Architecture!
Your porcelain collection magnificent.
I cant get enough! I have watched this tour four times, I don’t want to miss a thing! So awesome! Ms. Daage reminds me of Ms. Carolina Herrera!
Beautiful china settings. You are most generous with your knowledge. Merci, Mme Daâge.
Marie est magnifique!
I love this apartment and this woman so much. It's so good to see such individual style on this channel. So damn good!
Wow ..this woman has style and allure ....J' adore.
Très bien. Merci braucoup
Lots of great ideas♥️♥️♥️
I love the green color of her dining room walls. 🙂 I totally agree with multipurpose items (like teacups or tumblers) and mixing patterns, mixing old with new, telling a story…or letting the story evolve. This was lovely.
Oh how I wish I could visit Paris one day...some are only meant to see things on TV/computer so I thank you SO much for inviting us into your lovely home & creative workspace!! Such a delight!!
I use to say the same thing…after saving money from a little part time job, I had a full time job too, my sister and a friend (shared suite expense) left for a 10 day trip to Paris. Stayed in Latin Quarters. Never give up on that dream. Pray over it and put it out into the universe and I’m sure you will be there someday. I never ever thought I’d find myself in Paris, until I did…good luck sweetie🙏🏼
Go visit darlin save up get cheap flight go with true friends and have a ball my friends and I just came from New York we had so much fun next for us the Bahamas 😁
Wishing you lots of luck and money so you can go and enjoy that beautiful city :) and when you´re there, think of all of the positive energy that helped your wish come true =)
I really hope you can come one day!!
@@petralea oh no Petra... this is a full meal (in an elegant way). It depends actually, if there are several plates involved and more than 6 people (and they are not family related) then you need help/staff.
Lovely settings.
Bonus video, thank you so much! :)
I loved both tours with Marie. She clarified many ideas in table setting for me.
Merci. 👏 I often wondered why the forks were placed upside down; your explanation makes for a good story.
Mainland Euro setting
Out of the ordinary
I adore your casual and comfortable elegance. You truly are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.⚜🌿⚜
Beautiful, I love her advice on decorating and being very practical at the same time.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful tabletop and your home. I could live with the green dishes ❤
This is INCREDIBLE...I could watch it over and over ❤❤❤
I am absolutely fascinated by this lady. I am also delighted by her use of old wine glasses. I really find it hard to manage the newer enormous glasses. My Grandparents Victorian glass can now comeback into use!
Ahh I have the dinner plates one collection, the salad plate a different collection, the desert plate another etc always. That way it’s never boring. I’ve gotta get some of her plates
Just plain fun.
Amazing lady!! Very precious advice! Thank you!!
Very beautiful collection ♥
Such a pleasure to listen to her encouraging our creativity! That mantelpiece ❤
Great video & geared to those with disposable income to keep "adding" to your table settings..whether they are new or used pieces.
Few have family hand-me-downs these days nor do they want them
J'adore!!!
finally a video with the forks facing the correct way
So very artistic yet functional! I love it all
But how do you eat off those? Do you remove each plate as you go? I love the detailed tips she gave, absolutely inspired by her.
love it, love it, love it... beautiful table setting!
Very interesting, thank you!
I love all the details and stories behind your collection! Beautiful space!
No words…except maybe so fabulous. ty
Hey Allison! I love Marie´s ceramics... they are so colorful with a touch of demure. Now, I´ve always wondered how this table setting work. Maybe you can help me out because no one seems to be willing to share this info hahaha. I often see people showing "how to set the table" and they stack one plate on top of another but in reality, I never see my dishes together (especially if they involve many courses). That´s when I need help to plate the food (and that happens in the kitchen)... Not only does it seem unrealistic or impractical but also kinda weird/distracting to see plates and bowls stacked in front of my guests... it´s almost like showing off and that´s not what reunions are about., right?
Sorry for my English, it is not my first language. Anyway, if you can clarify this for me it would be great because when I invite people for dinner, I only leave at the table the main course plate empty (and the charger below). Soups, salads, etc are brought plated and I only serve the main on the table (if it´s appropriate) so I feel like this display of ceramics is a bit out of place. Please help!!! Thank you!!! Ignacio
You are completly right,I'm always curious to know this way of setting the table!
@@Rita-xo1ne Thank you Rita. I mean... I don´t know if I´m right... I just can´t see how this is practical... I LOVE the look but, do they remove everything before the guests arrive? Or it´s like eating on top of a Jenga of plates. So far no one dares to say much about it.
@@IMAInteriors No idea...
@@petralea That´s right! So this way of presenting how to set a table is like showing off... but in reality, these plates are never together =)
Divine!
Beautiful! But when l watched the home tour the homes kitchen is so small,l l wonder how you could prepare a three or four course dinner in it. It didn't seem like there was room for more then one person in it.
Maybe take out on very fancy table ware.
Again fabulous video ❤️❤️❤️
LOVE THIS WOMAN! PURE CLASS! Kimberly
Anyone know where her amazing earrings are from?????
🖤🖤🌹🖤🖤
No napkins?
Will someone please buy her plates. Si vous plait.
