"You are terraria" Thank you. Thats the best compliment one can make , for terraria is such an amazing game , being compared to it is uterly flatering.
I'm glad you touched on the world being its own character, that's how I view the whole game. The main character isn't the moon lord, or cthulhu, or even you, it's the world. Enemies only really spawn and swarm around players because the world is recognizing you as a threat, knowing your eventual goal. You have to fight against it in order to save it, eventually combating even the moon and its forces. A lot of the conflicts center around the world or change it in some way, which I think is a really unique and fun concept for a sandbox game and makes maintaining and taking care of it that much more rewarding
i find terraria to still be enjoyable after 3750h , (even though 60% of my playthroughs rn are modded) it proves terraria is one of the best and in my opinion the best games of its kind , it has an insane diversity and a lot of weapons and classes to choose from.

Thanks a ton! I definitely considered making that the theme of this since there’s freedom in what you can do in this game but also how the developers gave themselves freedom by not having any kind of thematic limitation in the game. Terraria is one of the games I grew up with and possibly the game in which I have spent the most amount of time (over 5 thousand in my life, most of that coming from 1.3 versions of the game). It's like that old friend of yours that you grew up with you and changed with you. It's crazy to see how much the game improved and how popular it is.
The one thing I love about progression in this game is that it is never the same depending on how you play. As a summoner in 1.4, when you first start playing you need to find a summon if not in journey. For example, If you find the finch staff, the snow is your next stop to kill fluffy boys. Obtaining their fur gives you a good summon and armor set. Then going to the jungle to fish for ingredients. Then gearing up for the optional boss Queen Bee to get her armor. Meanwhile with a Ranger, blitzing the corruption/crimson or the desert would be the way to go for gear.
Oh yes that’s another thing I really enjoy about the different classes! Each one has you go on a different path for each weapon and armor set. Like, as an example, the dungeon after Plantera is extremely important if you’re going Magic, but it’s relatively optional if you’re Melee, Ranged, or Summoner.
Ah. Good to know. I thought that they spawned from enemies since I saw a few come from enemies a few times and I thought they didn’t affect the counter, but I must’ve been seeing things. Thanks for pointing that out.
"The arms dealer, who sells guns and ammunition after you likely have picked up a gun from curiously smashing a shadow orb or a crimson heart" As someone who rushes Boomstick in the early game, I'm pretty sure the last time I got the Arms dealer from breaking a shorb/creart was over a year ago at this point.
That is a fast way to get a gun, so that’s a good thing to point out, though I do think that it is common to have a lot of players’ first gun be a gun from a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart.
I have over 3600 hours in terraria by now. I started playing in march 2016 and since then, much time has passed. Nowdays i am used to play Terraria Calamity on Infernum Mode almost the entire time, i tried many other mods, i made mods myself, ive played with friend AND most importantly, i forgot how playing Terraria for the first time felt. That video kinda made me nostalgic. Killing the EoC was not just a "task i do because its fun". It was a goal to beat that eye and figure out what it drops. Terraria lost its magic for me and even Calamity lnfernum already loses that a bit. But still, this game is still fun to play 2-3 times a year. I really like your video :)
Terraria is my game of all time. Terraria itself is what you just said, freedom. But that extends beyond just the game. I always tell people i try to out onto the game that "you would be shellshocked to find how humanly sophisticated some of these 2d items are. Terraria is in itself truly a 1 off experience and nothing like minecraft
This is absolutely one of my favorite games of all time ever since the Excalibur was the best sword in the game I've played this game so much over the years on steam Xbox ps4 and the switch I can always go back to this game when new games are not in my interest
Gosh I remember those days. I actually first played Terraria on the PSVita of all systems, and beating every boss at the time was a massive achievement for me. I'm oddly quite nostalgic for the older versions of Terraria now! This is one of my all time favorites too.
"The central ore of this area, hellstone, can only be mined with a pickaxe of a tier of the level of a nightmare or deathbringer pickaxe. Or the reaver shark if you went fishing enough." Oh, honey, no.

GET THIS MAN OVER 700 SUBS WTF
I love Terraria so much I could pee my pants
Wish me luck on my master mode playthrough
nice video man!
Thank you!!!
great vid!
Ayyyy thanks a ton!!!
commenting to boost that algo, this video is very well done and I admit I'm biased as Terraria is my favorite game of all time.
Thanks a ton!
It’s definitely up there in my top 10 favorite games of all time.
thx for feeding my current terraria fixation, i’ll be listening to this repeatedly while i build unnecessarily large and lavish houses for my npcs
Glad to hear haha
I’ve done 5 play throughs of terraria and I still find it fun with out mods
"One of which summoning a worm called a crawltipede"
Crawltipedes spawn naturally, my man.
Ah. Good to know. I thought that they spawned from enemies since I saw a few come from enemies a few times and I thought they didn’t affect the counter, but I must’ve been seeing things. Thanks for pointing that out.
That was amazing nothing less to be said
I’ve not seen a terraria video essay this good since Uber dangers mythical terraria review
Thanks a ton!!! I actually watched that one not too long ago as I was working on this, found it quite funny.
Goated game
Commenting for the algorithm.
Replying for the algorithm.
Ye
"The arms dealer, who sells guns and ammunition after you likely have picked up a gun from curiously smashing a shadow orb or a crimson heart"
As someone who rushes Boomstick in the early game, I'm pretty sure the last time I got the Arms dealer from breaking a shorb/creart was over a year ago at this point.
That is a fast way to get a gun, so that’s a good thing to point out, though I do think that it is common to have a lot of players’ first gun be a gun from a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart.
Tldr : terraria good. Devs good. Lore good. Game good
I have over 3600 hours in terraria by now.
Emotional af but hella true :(
Dope vid
Thank you!
Terraria is the best indie game ever made
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Terraria is one of the greatest games of all time
It truly is. It belongs in like… at least the top 50.
Top two
Really well made video, keep it up my man
Thanks a ton!
For the algorithm, may the Omnissia bless this video!
Shout-out to my man spawning directly under a floating island
To let's get this to more people, great retrospective! 👍
Thank you, friend!
@@RyderPlatinumWarpstar damn that's a name I never hear anymore
great video brah
Thank you!
"Retrospective?" It's still evolving.
It is continuously evolving as we speak.
Won’t be too much longer until 1.4.5 is out.

"The central ore of this area, hellstone, can only be mined with a pickaxe of a tier of the level of a nightmare or deathbringer pickaxe. Or the reaver shark if you went fishing enough."
Oh, honey, no.
Turns out I forgot that they nerfed the Reaver Shark in 1.4
Best £8.50 of my life
I started my first true playthrough of Terraria today and it's already super addictive.
I love Minecraft and it has it's place but Terraria is better imo
Great video ❤
seeing someone call a review on terraria a "retrospective" is making me feel *old*
Terraria was peak
