  • Here's some lovely Ford 4/5000 gear working at the 2023 Craigs Tractor Enthusiasts Silage Day held outside Cullybackey in County Antrim. This was a fundraiser in aid of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, a really worthy charity. 4000/5000 working with 42" JF FH 112s and a Kidd MK2 double chop.
We have more clips coming from other makes/models including 10 Series Fords, Massey Ferguson and Nuffields working with single and double chop harvesters.
The 4000 at the end is a bit different - it has a 7810 III Series 6 cylinder engine, standard clutch and brakes, power steering, 7000 tyres, oversized fronts, roughly 110HP. Unbelievable machine - pity that the weather didn't help the footage quality for the road sections clips.

I so feel too this video. Ford4000 and danish Taarup - and wagon was of course finnish Tuhti, bigger than those.. That was quite rally days, always watching out weather and then make long days on fields.. We got in Finland also that AIV - formic adid in that and on my farm we put silage to 2towers with crane :) On winter silage was frozen thing.. heavely thing to pick up with silagecrane...

about 1990century coming new age it was Ford 5610 and special YLO haychipper and more bigger Tuhti M85 haywagon.. Now those new things are those white haybales and contract working and co-operating with New Hollands. My brother keep farm now, and Ford4000 is still in use. For little things.

Thanks for watching! Everything has got so big now, with contractors in and out in a day or less. We like seeing the smaller scale stuff that still does a job. Memories from the good days.

@@OldSchoolNI that engine is wasted in a 4000 put it in a 5000 then you’d have some animal, I drove a few of them years ago.
