    Focussing aids should still work on older body's. Aperture information and lens correction is lost however.

      Oh, thanks for this! I was told otherwise, but I guess you are right! I will pin this comment to the top for the other viewers to see.

      Exactly: every aids works perfectly, you just need to press a button to activate the aid.
      It means the aids are not automatically always on (that would never be my choice anyway).
      Aperture info is not recorded, and in evf you can’t see the focus scale.
      When I bought my Voigtlander 27mm for my Xe2 and Xt1 I was worried this lack would have been a problem, but I actually isn’t a big issue, it brought me back to my film days - I compared with a T5 and I felt almost no difference (if not for some added weight!).

    Alte adaptierte Vintage Linsen machen auch großen Spaß :). Habe aktuell wieder mal das alte schwere Helios 44-4 drauf.

    Thanks - Looking forward to the X-Pro4 with the Apo-Ultron and the other pancake, the Color-Skopar 27mmF2.

    Thank you for profiling this lens. I was on the verge of getting the 27mm Ultron f2 but as I am comfortable with neither 28mm nor 40mm I thought I better give the choice "one last think" and look at the Color-Skopar. I'm glad I did as it led me to your channel. But I'm also upset I did because you enjoyed the lens too much and did not make up my mind for me! I guess I have to do more thinking ...!

    This is on my list 😂 I shoot a lot with the 18mm f2 manually using hyper focal distance and zone focusing.

      Perfect! Sounds like fun as well😊

      do you find the focus ring on the Fuji XF18mm to be hypersensitive? I have to lock focus on S and turn off Shutter AF to zone focus with that lens, and it's my second copy of it.

      @@daveincork sadly yes it is

    A nice lens it seems 😃 What I don't like, is that it is a bit useless for zone focusing, since the focus throw is so tiny. The difference between 2 meters and infinity is less than 2mm. Don't understand this design.

      @streetphotographyguy  9 месяцев назад +1

      100% agree! A friend told me that this is ok because it's so wide angle but i see it the way you do

      Thank you @@streetphotographyguy. And the same thing goes for Leica Q btw. The one thing that I really don't like about this otherwise fantastic camera. Really miss at least one step between 2 meters and infinity. This is why I often use my M10 / Voigtlander Ultron 28mm for street in good light conditions instead. Zone focusing is very easy with that nice Ultron lens.

      That is a shame. I really like Voigtlander lenses, but this focus throw is a big mistake, maybe even a deal breaker.
      I just bought a TTArisans 17/1.4 and it has the same flaw. Really Irritating.

    Ich liebe mein extrem günstiges TTartisan 25mm F2. Wie ist denn Focus auf Infinity beim Voigtländer. Passt der Anschlag oder fokussiert es jenseits Infinity wie die meisten China Linsen?

    • @streetphotographyguy
      @streetphotographyguy  9 месяцев назад +3

      Bei Infinity isses, soweit ich das jetzt einschätzen kann, tatsächlich Infinity, bei F11 ab ca.2m

    I've bought it but I'm still trying to understand if it's worth or not, as the manual focus it's a big limit

    • @streetphotographyguy
      @streetphotographyguy  6 месяцев назад +1

      It takes some time to get used to it, that´s true, but I figured that shooting is more fun with it, more meditational, old-times-like photography somehow. At least for me.

      @@streetphotographyguy yes I agree. It reminds me when I was 16 using a Fujica-STX total manual. But I still wonder: it's really so better than other cheaper lenses? It's just a mind belief or it's "scientific"?... What do you think?

    [english version below]
    Hallo Oliver, hallo Fujistas, heute habe ich das Objektiv auf einer X-Pro2 getestet, weshalb ich gerne noch ein paar Details zur mangelnden Kommunikations-Unterstützung liefere:
    - Zuerst kontrollieren, ob im Schraubenschlüssel-Menü unter "TASTEN/RAD-EINSTELLUNG" (darauf musste erstmal kommen) die Option "AUSL. OHNE OBJ." auf "AN" gestellt ist, sonst könnt ihr den Auslöser ins Gehäuse drücken, und nix passiert, weil die Kamera einfach keine Ahnung hat, dass ein Objektiv drauf ist.
    - Die Belichtungsmessung funktioniert wie im "A"-Modus, d. h. die Blende wird mit F0 angezeigt (wenn schon kein Objektiv, dann auch keine Blende), aber AUTO-ISO und Zeitautomatik funktionieren.
    - Im "M"-Modus indiziert die EV-Skala wie gewohnt den Abstand vom Optimum nach Meinung des Sensors bzw. gewählter Messmethode.
    - Fokus-Peaking funktioniert auch aber (natürlich) ohne Lupe.
    Die Schärfeneinstellung mit dem Leica-ähnlichen Gnubbel funktioniert einfach geil. Ich bin bis jetzt ziemlich begeistert von dem Teil und dem resultierenden Handling der Kamera, obwohl rund 600 EUR für so einen 2.8er Pfannenkeks ohne Autofokus schon ein Bisschen an meine persönliche Vernunftgrenze gehen. Vergleicht man den Preis jedoch mit einem Äquivalent aus Wetzlar....
    Vielen Dank für das inspirierende Video mit Verzicht auf Überlängen, Oliver, denn vorher hatte ich von der Linse nichts mitbekommen, und das wäre jetzt echt schade. Ich freue mich schon auf mehr.
    Beste Grüße aus der großen Stadt der kleinen Würstchen!
    Oops, english spoken channel, hence the translation (sort of):
    Hello Oliver, hello Fujistas, today I've tested the lens mounted to my X-Pro2, which makes me delightfully send you some more details concerning the lack of communication between lens and camera:
    - First of all make sure in the wrench menu, submenu for key and wheel settings (sry, haven't the actual label at hand), that the option "exp. w/o obj." (or what the label for shooting without a lens might be called) is enabled, because otherwise you could push the shutter button into the body without happening anything (exc. damage), because the camera doesn't even know about the presence of the lens.
    - Light metering works like in aperture priority mode, i. e. the aperture will be indicated as F0, but AUTO-ISO and shutter speed adaption work,
    - In manual mode the EV scale indicates as usual the distance from the optimum acc. to the sensor and chosen metering method.
    - Fokus peaking works but without the magnification (of course).
    Focussing with this Leica-like knob-thin works simply like a charm. Until now I'm rather excited about this thingy and the resulting overall handling of the camera with it, although quit 600 EUR for such a 2.8 pancake without autofocus bring it at the perimeter of my rational senses. On the other side comparing the price with an equivalent from Wetzlar (home of Leica)...
    Thank you for the inspiring video without time fillers, Oliver, because before I was totally unaware of this lens, which would be a pity by now. I'm look forward for more.
    Kindest regards from the big town of small sausages!

      Re-Hi, you're truly welcome, aber ich bin weniger ein Experte als dass hier der Zufall der zeitlichen Abfolge der Ereignisse eine Rolle spielte, und ich so meine Hands-On-Erfahrungen zum Besten geben konnte. 👍
