You had to put this in your video too man, otherwise it's on spot.
The info you give is good, but there are several other things that were missed. I will list them, I know you touched on a couple of these but I will include them anyway.
In the game options menu under graphics: Run borderless, Camera and motion Blur to OFF, VSync OFF, Clouds/graphics quality section set at your own discretion, but traditionally graphics quality at High runs the smoothest given the way SC loads textures. Set Chromatic Aberration to 0, and Film Grain to OFF (Film grain to off is huge). Sharpening has had little to no effect for me on FPS, so I run it at 100. If you run a NVidia graphics card of later versions that have this option, don't forget to set the shader cache to 10GB...no more, no less, in get graphics settings on your desktop. o7

@@radsy5821yea for me. Fullscreen if I tab out with 2 ultra-wide screens. My game will crash within seconds if tabbing over to discord or anything else. To avoid crashing, I usually setting my full resolution in windowed mode first, then switch to borderless. AMD 3950X CPU, 64gb nvme ram, 1tb & 2tb ssd nvme.

when you get low fps near ground on moons and planets:
"Scattered Object Distance" and "Terrain Tessellation Distance" to medium or low
when you have low fps near clouds:
"Planet Volumetric Clouds" to medium or off
These are the settings with the biggest impact.
Think there is an error in the video - it says you need 32MB (megabyte instead of gigabyte) RAM. Right now the game is mostly CPU bottlenecked, so when they release DLSS in near future, people might not see much improvement yet - but they eventually will. I love DLSS.

@@RugoGaming I have an RTX 3070 with a 3440x1440 100hz screen. DLSS helps me get more frames in FPS games like BF2042. Nvidia apparently says they think native resolution gaming is not the future.
That's only gonna help after server meshing and Vulcan is added. Or it's original purpose, which is upscaling to over 4k
When talking about the console menu … you should enable gpu snyc this will boost your fps by about 10 .. I have mine set to zero, however just try it with your fps displayed .. and see which works for you , choices are zero or one

64GB RAM definitely isn't necessary, but there is a benefit to it. Namely you can leave other programs running without impacting performance. On my system, closing down as much as possible, when Star Citizen is running, my system will use about 28GB of RAM if I remember correctly. The problem with that is I generally like to leave my browser open, which uses anywhere from 10-15GB, so Star Citizen starts digging into swap and runs a little worse. If I just bumped up to 64GB, I wouldn't need to decide between better performance and leaving background programs open.

alpha means putting the stuff in, not fixing bugs, beta is for fixinf bugs, adding small things. Full release is all of the prevorious things done
Wrong, you can't properly test the game unless game breaking bugs are fixed.

Ryzen 5 1500x GTX 2060 and 16GB of ram running off a Samsung mv.n2 ssd. I didn't finish the tutorial yet because when I went on the space train it asked me to get off but my screen was frozen and the doors closed before I could walk off LOL

Yeah that's likely the 16gb ram causing issues. I noticed a lot of crashes in this latest patch on my son's 16gb 4790k gtx1080 PC. If it doesn't freeze, it simply just crashes to desktop. Two or 3 patches ago he had none of these issues apart from poor FPS.

Im gonna repeat what he said, do NOT listen to the "upgrade your specs" BS. I have a 4090 and a Core i9, both watercooled. The Rest of my specs are also more than enough to run any game you could possibly think of. Star Citizen still runs like dogsh*t. Better specs wont save you on this one, only certain changes in the graphics settings and generally messing around with the help of a couple guides.

To the 'upgrade your PC' comment, I will add just few things:
You definetly should meet at least some standards.
Going above and beyond is purely optional, but gaming on a calculator won't serve you very well.
Standards should be:
'Fast' SSD at least 250GB imo,
'fast' 32GB RAM,
high frequency CPU (as of now, fewer faster cores are better, than many slower - but that is slowly changing and multicore CPUs will have greater benefit),
also CPU SHOULD BE BETTER THAN GPU, they don't need to be on par.
StarCitizen is VERY demanding on CPU, not that much on GPU.
Again, having better GPU will make greater difference later, after certain tech is fully implemented.
I'm running just Ryzen5 3600 and GTX 1080 ROG, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and my frames allow absolutely enjoyable gameplay at 2K resolution.
( I also get 30fps in Hurston's Loreville).
Yeah I agree 100% that you should meet minimum requirements for sure, and anything less than 32mb will definitely cause issues and random crashes to desktop. But go take your specific specs to chat and just ask for improved FPS advice, you'll see at least 2 or 3 people tell you "you're running a potato" or "upgrade your pc" - THOSE are the assholes I'm referring to.

They think if they dip below 60fps either their rig sucks, or the game is shit, so they go and buy latest GPU to fix it.

There is a lot you can make to get smoother gamplay in SC. And then a lot you absolutely can't influence at all.

No I don't think that would be playable at all with a 460. My son has a i7 (i5 isn't bad by any means) and 1080 but experiences a lot of stutter and crashes lately.

you know i recenlty upgraeded my system to am5 and ddr5 and for star citizen there really wasnt a big difference
1 server meshing isn't here, so it's not a factor.
2 graphics between low and high have zero effect accept switching the demand from the gpu(low) to the cpu(high).
We have mostly the same parts i9 11500k and 32gbs corsair ram. But I have a 2080ti and get the same fps as you.
yeah, i've got a i9 13900k, an rtx 2060 12gb, and 128gb ddr5 ram still get crap frames in most of those places.
12900k, 3090/24GB, 64GB RAM, NVME, gigabit ISP.
Game runs like a dream.
