I know it is years since this was posted, but I want to tell you how much this video helped me! I could not get the drawers out of an oak desk, and could not figure out how we can get it out of the house. You solved my problem and gave me the courage to give one good tug. Thank you, thank you!🥰🥰

Who else needed help from this video due to losing some belongings in the back of their drawer!
Meeeee
Me I was actually thinking of getting new ones and the one I have aren't even a year old so this saved me some coins.
I spent weeks wondering how I was going to retrieve something that fell behind a drawer in my nightstand and kept the drawer from closing all the way. I was afraid it would require a crowbar until I asked Google for help and your video came up with the answer I needed. Thanks so much!
Rhett from Rhett and Link appreciates you for uploading this video. It saved him and his wife in their time of need
Thank you!! You are the only one that was extremely helpful. I have been trying to remove a drawer with a center slide for the longest time. You were the only one that explained everything in detail and demonstrated how to do it. Now, it's "a breeze" to remove my dresser drawers and put them back in without any problems. Thank you!
I can’t believe I found you but oh so glad I did. Had our furniture for 13 years and never have been able to remove the drawers until now. We have the same plastic half circle piece on the bottom and never knew it. This is amazing. Thank you for what seems to be simple but never was.
Thanks for sharing! I had no idea these drawers could come out. Really helpful.
This video was a lifesaver! So glad it came up when I was googling. Had a stubborn bottom wooden drawer I haven’t been able to close for awhile and there’s not enough vertical space to fit my hand behind to reach for the clothes that got stuck lol. Thank you for the video! All the others I found were about drawers with different slides and glides that didn’t apply but your video was spot on to the kind of wood drawer I had. 🎉
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I spent an hour fighting with a drawer. This video helped me understand the mechanism of the drawer as I didn't know that you were supposed to pull it out using some force. I have to move a chest of drawers upstairs and you help me prevent back injuries, as I was getting ready to move it with all the drawers, probably a terrible mistake! I used a dry bar of soap underneath to help the drawers slide "easily". I agree with the comment of another RUclipsr below, this seems such a horrible design. There is no need to make the drawers almost impossible to remove. Thanks!
Thank you so kindly for help me get the drawers out, after seeing you ,I went give the drawer and it came, I had chest for years, just blame on a poor workshop, not on me, never to to learn 80yrs. 9/18/19
miss a few ,just read my mine 80
Thank you! I bought a used dresser from Craigslist. It said "Holland House" brand on the label. Had it for years and could NOT figure out how to get the drawers out. Watched this video - and with confidence, I tugged REALLY hard to get it out. Success! After removing the drawer, I moved the position of the "clear plastic arch stop" a bit higher so I could actually remove the drawer without as much brut force for the next time.
thank you for this video! I was really struggling to get some big drawers out of my dresser and this showed me that the thing that was keeping it in place was that little plastic thing! Was able to get the drawer out and put it back in without damaging it or the dresser :D
Thank you so much for this video. My mother gave me a beautiful 1970's desk and I was too afraid of breaking the drawers. No way I could have taken it up to my second level of my house with them in. Appreciate your video.
Omg thank you so much! I've been trying to take this thing out for year 🤦🏾♀️..... I was even contemplating breaking a drawer because my crazy pricey necklace ( impulse buy 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️) that I brought myself for my birthday fell behind it..... It's been there for years 🤷🏾♀️
Did it work? Just curious.
@@ramon3300 yes it did like a charm
Finally! Geez I've been trying to get this drawer out for a long time . Would've never done it without your video. Many thanks!
Thank you! Maybe I should've known how to take the drawers out, but for years I didn't know how to get most of my drawers out safely. It takes a lot effort and I didn't want to break anything!
I've had this dresser for over 20 years and never knew how to get the darn drawers out!! Thank you!!!
This was a GREAT help, thank you !!! I tried every thing for an hour, then decided to search RUclips. Thanks again.
Excellent video. In frustration I discovered this by accident. A sock fell behind the drawer and it wouldn't close all the way. Couldn't see any way to get the drawer out so I just grabbed it and jerked it really hard planning on breaking that plastic stop and to my surprise the drawer came out with the plastic thingy intact. Really not a bad design once you figure it out.
Oh my gosh!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. Something fell behind our dresser drawer, it seems likes YEARS ago, and we've on and off tried to get it out with no success, and A LOT of cussing since then because the drawer wouldn’t close all the way. Then we had the bright(?) idea to finally google it, (not so bright bc it took us a couple of years to think of it), found your video, and VOILA!, problem solved in SECONDS. You are our Heroine, thank you.
Thank you for this video. I couldn't remove a drawer that has those semi circle stops. Your video have me the courage to pull - HARD.
Have to say I was so scared to removed those drawers I been trying over and over thanks so much for your tip very helpful 😄
Thank you. Your video gave me confidence and I was able to pull out my drawers thanks to your video. Thank you for taking the time to make it! I appreciate you
Thank you so much. I was driving myself crazy and after I watched, I finally got the drawer out. It definitely wasn't easy lol
Thanks for your video. I have found that using a piece of metal approximately 1/8 of an inch thick or less and approximately 7 to 12 in Long works great. You slide it in next to the plastic drawer stopper and gently pry it over to one side usually from the center line prying it outward to the right is what I have done. This works quickly and you don't have to tug so hard it's quite easy once you get that plastic piece bending over to the right
Yep, just tugged out the drawers and plastic tabs were keeping them from coming all the way out. Yay! Thank you, thank you!
Oh it worked!! Thank you. There's a whole life behind that drawer.
THANK YOU!!!!! man!!! It sucks when your socks and calzones(chonies) fall back and I can't get to them!!! This was super helpful!!
Thank you, even in 2022!!!! Had a nightstand I couldn’t close the drawer to- had so much stuff behind it… never knew the drawer came out.
Been trying to remove my night drawer table for years. I was sacred i would pull to hard and break it. Thanks to your video and a hard tug and its out! Thank you
Did it, it works, mine had a plastic tap in the middle. I pulled on the sides of the drawer (not the handle) while holding the night stand in place. Thank you.
Thank you so much!! I have been fighting my dresser for ages! I was being too gentle. You nailed it for me.
Thank you for your awesome video. I have an Ethan Allen dresser and I did not have any idea if the drawers would come out.
It turned out that I have the drawer with the third mechanism. 👍👍
Helpful! I felt much better about muscling the drawer out, once I'd seen the restraining mechanism in your video. Thanks!
Thanks! Saved me from destroying the drawer!
Thanks for posting this video, I found it to be very helpful. Our drawers have the plastic catch. We found that it was best to open the draw some and press the plastic catch down, that made it so much easier to pull out the drawer.
Thanks this was so much help. Didn't realize i had to give drawer a strong pull to get it out.
Whew! What a HUGE HELP your video was/is!
Thank you so much because I thought I had the weirdest dressers and the draws weren't removable and things would always fall behind them until I saw your video I was actually thinking of getting new ones and the one I have aren't even a year old. So again thank you for saving me some coins.
Thanks for the help. We couldn't remove our heavy drawers to move the dresser!
Thank you, thank you. I am going to gasp, paint 18 year old dresser and night stand. I just tugged out the drawers and yep there were plastic tabs that kept drawers from falling to the floor. Yay!
Thank you so much!!! I finally found my truck keys my little two year old threw behind my West Elm desk drawer!! Thank you!!!
When pushing them back in I found it easier to push until it gets tight and then with the palm of your hand give it a couple hard taps/baps until it pushes past the catch. Keeps you from slamming the drawer to the back if you're just pushing really hard.
You're a life saver. Thanks for sharing.
Thankyou, very helpful. I had no idea what type of drawers i had in my dresser and now i know
OMG Thank you so much for this video. I have retrieved my important piece of mail. I sure didnt want to break my brand new night stand.
Thanks for the tip! I was struggling!
I’m trying to get mine back in after moving 😫 I have a dresser, nightstand and a media chest🤦🏽♀️if gotta push that hard😒God give me strength 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for this video. It saved me throwing a tantrum from frustration. No matter what I did I couldn't get the darn drawer open till I watched this.
Thank you! Any thoughts on the Vergara dresser drawers? The slides are a mixture of wood and metal and plastic. Thanks.
what a great and helpful video! Thank you.
Thank you so much, my drawer was like the first one.
This is the craziest patent that I have ever seen!!!!!!
This was very helpful! Thank you. I will definitely be checking out the metal glides video as well!
Great help. Good video.
woodprix is full of awesome tips. Very helpful to me.
Fantastic I think!
@@romeliapolly9631 Agree!
Omg Ty Ty Ty! I thought I would break it but it worked!!!
Wiggle the draw back and forth while pulling, helps a great deal
Just did that and now I have another project to do: glue the drawer back together because a huge piece of the back of the drawer was ripped out when I did this. I don't think this was the right way to remove the drawers on my dresser!
Mine has two wood glides on the bottom. And in the middle, there's a plastic catch too, looks folded... but I'm pulling out, and it won't come out.
Thanks for the help, but a little bit of vaseline or other lubricant makes it much easier to get over the plastic stops!
Do you know where I can find similar drawer stops?
I have a drawer like this but it doesn't open fully it stops almost half way. Anyone have any tips on this. My piece is from Raymour and Flannigan.
Thank you so much!
#spreading the love ❤️
Oh my God thank you for this video
Hi, enjoyed your trips and they work great except the third mirrored table, the plastic tab would break off after a few pulls, a better and safer way is just look under the drawer and press down on the plastic tab and the drawer pulls out like butter.
Thanks. That worked!
...moving. Thanks!!!
I wish someone would make a video on how to get a wood glide drawer out that is totally stuck. I know how it works, I know to wax it...however, I can't get it out to wax the glide. Short of taking the thing apart....how can I get the drawer out???
Thank You SO Much!
Who else showed up from GMM?!?! ROLL CALL!!!!!!!! #GMM4LIFE
patricia pritchett Me!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Just a heads up, my dresser didn't work like this, it's not a round half circle tab it's curved like a ramp and has to be pressed down.
BALJIT147 im trying to take mine apart right now, and does the drawer have to be pressed down?
Thank you!
Thank you so much ❤
Putting that little tidbit about ripping the front of the drawer off if it’s not the same as the 1st example might have been nice. I came to that conclusion before going to the next level to pull the drawer out, but could have ended badly. Ended up taking the back panel of the dresser off to access those round plastic stoppers on the top 4 drawers.
Don't be afraid to grip it and rip it. I've done it several times, much to my wife's horror, and never had any issues with the drawers.
This helped me. Thanks
Thank you so much
Thanks. ❤
Thank you for the tip
Well, suppose i should try this before the chain saw...
Thanks A lot
Thank you!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!
I got the drawer out and removed the plastic half round PC's. No more having too just about ripping the drawer frount off.lol. I don't have kids so it's not a safety issue.
Thank you
thankj you so much u rock
I have to take out my drawer because the front is broken, so this obviously isnt the solution for me
I have a raymour and Flannigan dresser and I can't for the life of me get it out
Can’t believe it was this easy. I swore my item was lost forever.
Thanks, I would never guess that. Everything I tried did not work, then I decided to check youtube.
Thank you! But I gotta say, there are other easier ways to make these things so that the drawers are easier (and less mysterious) to remove. (I'm looking at YOU here Restoration Hardware.)
You made it look really hard to put back in
How they gonna literally child lock my dressers…so stupid still can’t get these things out
This works. But you have to really pull hard and can hurt your back. Be careful.
ありがとうございました!
Great, now I can’t get them back in. 😐
God bless my lady you are going to heaven!!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

this seems like a horrible design that is just asking for you to damage whatever wood that plastic nub has to push up against. could have at least had some kind of metal tension arch that could flex if you pulled hard enough.
