    Jami Ray Vintage I can not possibly thank you enough for this video!!!! I have so many wonderful dressers, night stands, etc in which the inner slide mechanisms are broken and not functioning well or at all! But, I did not want to get rid of them. One, in fact, is a beautiful night stand beside my bed! I have called so many people to find someone who could fix the simple LOOKING problem but no one could or would. I love tackling problems and decided to check You Tube for a possible guide in how to do it myself. Yeah!!!! Now I know!!!! I can't wait to get started. I just ordered an inexpensive, but excellently reviewed, pneumatic stapler for just 33.00$ and I'm on my way to buy the wood and clamps and glue!! TY, TY, TY!!!!!! KL from Fleming Island, FL :)

    Zeb! Again you have saved me! I have a cute dresser I picked up but the drawers wouldn’t even open. They were all warped. I took out the bottoms and am going to cut new ones. There are no runners so the drawers don’t come flush with the front of the feeder. They slide toward the back. Your expertise in so many areas is why I follow and am a channel member. Thank you so much for showing me how to make my own runners for this great dresser for my daughters new son coming Feb 3, 2020!

    So I'm a visual person and sometimes I can understand but on this video when you were talking about a drawer and I just got confused on how you're going to fix it you put the piece of wood on the side of the drawer was towards the end and I just didn't get it. So you are so good at fixing things I would like longer videos next time if possible on showing us how exactly you do things. cuz when you tell somebody they don't always understand it unless I see it. But again thank you for your video great job!

    Love the repairs! Do you know how to make the mitred corner of a tray where the sides slant out! It might be called a compound mitre I think. I don't think there would be quite as much labor as the dough tray you made which was awesome.

    Fantastic demo Zeb. Thank you. Now if you can offer up a fix for removing a drawer that is stuck, I’d babysit your kids for a week free. Ha ha. All of the drawers come out, on a dresser I’m working on, except one. It is a quality broyhill newer dresser, but I don’t know why it’s stuck. It drags too when opening and closing, where you have to sort of lift up on the handle to close it.

    I’m trying to fix
    the ?? Slide tray
    over the two drawers
    On my nightstand.
    It slides out.. you can
    set a cup of coffee or
    write something on it.
    It tilts and drops
    when I pull it out
    to use.
    If you know how
    to fix that..
    I’m all ears. 😜
    So to speak
    Thank you

    Around 9:10, you show bottom drawer rails that are secured on both sides. What would you do to secure a bottom drawer rail that's only secured on the front? We have a vintage desk where the rails were glued to the back of the desk, but secured in the front like the rails in your video. We're thinking about using metal brackets to stabilize them.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  4 года назад +2

      Metal brackets would work, or a strong construction adhesive.

    do you use a block of canning wax or candle wax to run on the runners and the bottom sides of the drawers to help them slide? Where I live we have so much humidity that I run a few passes with wax and it helps the drawers slide smoothly.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 лет назад +1

      Nice! We use beets bees wax and sometimes if they’re real rough Zeb will use a bar of soap, which probably works a lot like the candle. Great tip!

    • @JamiRayVintage

    Can I please pick yalls brains???? I’m needing some help. I’m building a farmhouse planked table top and can only afford white wood pine (which ain’t looking so white after staining) that awful yellow is making my project so warm and I’m going for a greyish brown color. Is there any suggestions y’all can give me on prepping the pine to not be so yellow before staining or give me an idea of stain to use to get that greyish brown color I’m after? I don’t mind if I have to go in with a white wash or something like that I’m just lost.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 лет назад +1

      It’s going to get a little yellow on you unless you use a really dark stain. What we do it water down some white paint, 8 parts water, 2 parts paint. And rub it on with a rag over the stain (before you seal it) and it should lighten it up and make it look gray and weathered. What kind of stain, and color did you use?

    • @ashmodo1097
      @ashmodo1097 6 лет назад +1

      Jami Ray Vintage I’m trying to copy a table from a blog post called our vintage home love. She said she used Minwax special walnut but didn’t specify what type of wood it was. My stain on the pine doesn’t look anything like how it turned out on her wood. She called it wood from the (man section of lumber area) so of course I doubt it was pine.

    • @ashmodo1097
      @ashmodo1097 6 лет назад +1

      Likely some kind of treated wood that mutes our yellows if it was pine. I dk lol

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 лет назад +1

      If she got it from a big box hardware store it’s most likely pine. Can you send me pics on Facebook?
