My son and I went to the IMS in Sonoma, CA and we had a blast. He ended up getting a coupon from HD for Free motorcycle training classes and is now on his own 2 wheels. Thankfully he was able to drive the side by sides at the event and had a blast. I rode the Versys 1000 and the Pan-America and a few other Harleys. Super fun day I recommend it to people that ride to go experience a different style of bike.

I was very skeptical of the DCT but once I rode it, I was hooked. Slow speed maneuvers need a slightlydifferent technique but nothing that a little practice won't overcome. It's true the seat is lacking for all day comfort. I had the Wingsoft upgrade done and it's way better now. Have fun!
I got my 2018 Gold wing DCT about 3 months ago with only 2475 miles on it. My 4th wing, with a lot of parking lot practice and some time on the road I am really loving this bike. You will love the DCT!
+1 on the breakdown for the individual bikes. Always love your insight and enthusiasm for each individual motorcycle...if it puts a smile on your face, it's sure to puta smile on your audiences faces, cause we love to see that! Even the quad you drove please, that looked like fun.

A breakdown of each of your demo rides would be awesome, that way those of us that have similar tastes to you would have some idea of which bikes or SxS's to check out.

Hey, another option for new bike test ride is rental. I'm planning on buying a 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 and rented a '21 for 10days (~1100mi) from Eagle Rider. Loved it (!) and now I know exactly what changes I need for my riding style. Took all the guess work out of it. Like, I was thinking it might need a different handlebar and handguards, but the bar bend and guards are great for me, right out of the box. Something I didn't consider were grips, the stock'ers are super hard/plastic feeling/small diameter, so those will be changed on day one! Learned everything I needed to know, before I put money on the table.
I love the new format for IMS, even though I liked having a moto event during our Midwest winter to look forward to, the demos really put it over the top. The stand out for me was how much I loved the Goldwing DCT and pairing it with a Zero SR/S would make for a great 2 bike garage.
I love my Dyna and my 883 hand-built choppers but I have been thinking about getting that Royal Enfield 650CC INternational for a while a rip-around town bike. I was even home in May in Columbus and stopped at Throttle CO to look at the bike a little more. This is making it easy to get one!

We just had the show in Napa, CA a few weeks ago. I mostly came for the YCRS street skills course. If you get a chance Jess it's easily some of the best money you can spend on Appa. Makes you a better pilot 👊😁

I would have gone for the GT if my arthritic neck and spine lasted more than 15 minutes riding one, the consequences of cumulative injuries and advancing age. I'm just happy to still be riding.
Getting to ride all different bikes is cool 😎🏍️🤘. The Goldwings are awesome & luv the electric windscreens on them. The Pan America in all black looks really cool too. The off roading in the buggies looked like lots of fun 😄👍. The mesh jacket looks great & yes would be so much cooler riding.

I’m in Montana, we have awesome places to ride and some wide open spaces to explore but there doesn’t seem to be much interest for organizations like IMS to put events together out here. Kinda’ sad but understandable. So again, thank you for sharing your involvement there! It’s fun to experience different places via the net; not as fun as the real thing, but maybe this will start pushing me to plan better for a chance to enjoy such events in person!

I'm going to the event in Carlisle on September 10. Kawasaki always does breathalyzer tests at their demo rides (actually twice, once at the beginning or any first time riders thereafter, and once after lunch). And Yamaha does not let you film demo rides. I asked why and they babbled some b.s. about too many complaints. I'm hoping to do some demo rides on Hondas. They never seem to have demo events anywhere I can get to.
Jess, I would love to see your breakdown of the Challenger. If I remember correctly, the last time you rode one you had complaints about engine heat. Wondering what your thoughts are now.
