“Loss has no end, it binds to our connection” …. It’s so good to hear excellent songwriting from artists who have something to say. I’ve been following these two for years and the songs still sound fresh after dozens of plays
Raw natural sefless driven beauty creating with strings and WOOD RESONATING into our minds and hearts. Like a loving old friend stopping in for a visit in wooden music and a contemplative journey. A journey shared by all...as we all experienced in our recent solitude in quarantine missing our brothers sisters and keepers.
I am trying to understand why this band is not on every number 1 chart in the nation. The music is a new genre in itself and the players were brave enough to "play it anyway". I'm so thankful they have, I love this new sound that is coming out of more musicians especially a handful of the younger ones !
Shhhhhhhh, who needs a greater mass which often, actually ALWAYS ruins a scene. Let them continue making music and you support them by buying their releases, or their merch. Just enjoy Smoky Mountain. Just enjoy.
i don't know why, I've never been there, I didn't born there, I don't know anything of USA history and even its culture, but this music really touch my heart...I fell I lived once in past lifetime near these guys and its music...
Of the countless times i've watched Emily and Andrew perform these songs on RUclips I have never had them look me in the eye while they sing and play. Feels like i'm sitting with them. Also makes it much easier to pick out the chords while I try and keep up! Love you both 💗
Y’all make me so happy with your music. From recording to watching stripped down elegant performances like this. Thank you for living the life to share music with everyone.
Been listening to these two for a good many years now. Don't let your music or your love for one another die. Take it from an old guitar player who has been married for over 50 years and been playing for 53 or so. Come play for us in New Mexico sometime. TT
Been a huge fan every since I saw the boots of Spanish leather video several years ago and they quickly became my no. 1 listening choice, saw them live in Jacksonville Oregon just before the pandemic then saw them again in Sisters Oregon last summer, can’t wait to see them again.✌️
Most excellent… thanks for sharing your talent. I’ve been a fan since I found y’all during the pandemic. Your music helped us get through that terrible period in our world. So play on and play more… you bring joy to this old world
It's easy to be fooled by the lovely music played. Playing in front of a hard surface like here is a standard recording no-no. It introduces nasty short delay reverb which colours and muddies the sound. This recording is good enough to tell they are great performers but a cleaner recording would have showcased them a lot better IMO.
@@oldgoody1 This is obviously a special cabin chosen for its intense, short reverb. This is a very natural sounding recording, it sounds much better than what a "clean" close micing, no reverb room would've done in my opinion.
@@oldgoody1 So a recording only sounds good when an expert did it? I'm a sounder engineer and I think this sounds pretty nice, it's a very typical modern type of folk recording with a very short but strong reverb, almost bathroom-like. The balance between the instruments and voices is great, sounds very natural overall. I don't really care if an expert recorded this, it just sounds good to my ears

Very nice concert, and so much more intimate than in a huge auditorium with rowdy people. Your music is so relaxing to listen to and your lyrics are very thoughtful. I hope you are enjoying your life together.
I have listened to your songs around the fireplace in the late evenings for several year now at our ranch house in Hawaii. It is rare to find such music these days. Mahalo! (And please come visit the Big Island for fun or play)
God Bless and thank you. Please…is Mandolin Orange back? It is the name we all know you and love you by. You are magnificent ✨And please…do a concert tour with Mama’s Broke. You will sell out! 🙏🏼🙂
It's the key that makes the difference not the capo. He used the capo to change the key from A to B in the first song and from G to A in the second. (Not criticizing just practicing music theory in my head. It can be very confusing.) 🎼
@@booswalia That's the exact point @eric eckland made. He doesn't need to be corrected by you and your music theory because he was correct to begin with.
I have a love-hate relationship with the RUclips algorithm. But in this case, it got it so right. I am an instant super-fan. Thank you for this music, this gift.
That was just Fantastic ! Great Music Guys. I listen to you on RUclips Religiously, and have for years. Thank You you two for Fantastic Music that has touched me for life. God Bless 🙏 ❤️
Golden embers: A truly great song, performed in perfection using only the necessary instruments: a guitar, a violin and two extraordinary vocalists. This couple works infinitely better as this duo then with a band.
Hey! It's so good to hear and see you guys again. I knew the 1st song but not the rest. Really enjoyed Brother's Keeper. And that beautiful singing on the last song❣👏👏👏
It seems evident that your endeavors as musical partners are bearing fruit. Your music just helps my mind decompress. I am not fond of your genre, but you transcend it. Thank you so much for your hard work and artistic fearlessness.
Stumbled across "take this heart of gold" was flored!! Been a drummer since the age of 12 . When I listened to the rest of blind faller it became number one on my " rare, great entire album " list . It's a small list. On top of that they inspired me to start playing the guitar. That was about 11 months ago . K now own 17 guitar and an acoustic bass. Picked up the guitar pretty quickly but have a ton to learn. Marlin is masterful as much as his counter part is . Hope to someday see them.
What a treat to see/hear you guys in this intimate, stripped down setting. Thanks for reaching back to some old favorites, as well as some beautiful newer tunes, too. Sounding great! Come see us in Oregon sometime soon! (What guitar is that you're playing? Sound great - I'm guessing a Pre War.)
music doesn’t get better than this. this is pure art
Indeed
The tones she pulls out of that fiddle are gorgeous.

Yep…..it’s an intangible thing
We dont speak of it.
We dont even try.

This never gets old. Some how they are always able to sound so big, when it’s just them two!!!
Like the White Stripes of folk!

Whoever mixed and mastered this absolutely killed it. Incredible.
It's all about the recording and mic placement. I'm pretty sure the acoustic of the room we hear is natural. No heavy mix in this for sure.

Love his touch on that mandolin. Great lyrics. Would love to see them live, small venue. Come play in Cleveland please.
You’re both so talented! I’ve been a fan for awhile & am grateful for your fine musical abilities. You’re better than 99% of the “popular “ artists.
Having had the pleasure of meeting both Andrew and Emily at summer festivals, it's clear they're both down-to-earth, enjoyable folks, sez the Yankee.
They changed their name to Watchhouse some time ago... is this an old recording, newly posted?
Thank god for youtube! They bring it again, smiles a plenty. Play on and thanks for sharing the great stuff.

David, you mean "floored". Knocked to the ground, to the floor.
I meant floored as in like the pedal to the metal . However wrong I may have spelled it . Thanks

Gratitudes for these sacred sounds of beauty.
Did you change your name back? Admittedly, I have a soft spot for Mandolin Orange
They didn't, and they didn't post this video themselves, either.
J'adore les entendre à nouveau ensemble, comme ce beau concert intimiste à Zemst en Belgique !☺🤗😍
thanks friend.

I was wondering whether she plays the violin or the viola, if those are violin, they seem big
Came back to it! Good stuff!!
Beautiful
Odd that they changed their name like two years ago and this channel is still calling them Mandolin Orange in a video from just two weeks back?
Yes the recording must be a few years old, they're promoting Tides of a Teardrop.
Yea Andrew hasn’t had hair that short in a while
This is an older video for sure.
It is many many years old.
Why is it odd? If the name said WatchHouse I wouldn't have clicked.
Amazing
Love your music , been a fan a long time , when are you going to tour Europe?
They toured Europe last year - they've changed their name to Watchhouse, so they're easy to miss!
Bravissimi vi adoro❤
Love it, pure, raw, genuine🥰
Awesome!
Great music and singing! All is new for me but wonderful sounds! Greetings from Germany!
The beginning to this video belongs on Saturday night live.
Wait, are they not going by Watchhouse anymore?
