As a retired nursing home supervisor at 71 it’s devastates me knowing how these heroes who wound up in long term care were treated. I remember in particular a former fighter pilot sitting there ringing a bell to to be changed and being attended to finally by disrespectful help.

Apart from everything he done in the war, which I love listening about, he seems like a really nice guy. You can see why he’d be so popular in a unit.

@@MakingHistoryProject Thanks for the channel. I absolutely love what you’re doing with these guys. It’s so impressive to hear things from the people that were actually there. These interviews are an amazing part of social history as well as military history. Imagine having interviews like this from soldiers from the Napoleonic wars or American civil war. As long as these interviews are never erased, people can look back on them for generations to come. Amazing.

This old guy is sharper than the interviewer. He's telling you he didn't even carry a gun and a second later you are asking him if he ever had to shoot his gun.

I really enjoyed Pinkston. The interviewer was poor. His questions were ill timed and frequently off point. The interviewer didn’t listen to Pinkston - he simply went with his questions despite the great responses he got. I stopped listening because the interviewer fumbled so badly. Pinkston had a lot to say.

Most of the interviewers are just to young to fully understand what these soldiers are saying. At times, it does irritate me
