The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Parks have always been a place where one could take in immersive theming while enjoying world-class thrill rides and coasters. For me, it's always held a special spot in my heart, as it was the place where I got started on my coaster enthusiast journey. In 2020, SeaWorld will add a new coaster at each of their major parks in the forms of Pantheon, Iron Gwazi, Ice Breaker, Emperor, and Texas Stingray. From the looks of it, SeaWorld doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon with even more coasters set to open in 2021 and even 2022. Though SeaWorld is a chain for the families, always striving toward building a better future, they aren't perfect, and there was a point in time where media and protest got the best of this unmatchable company. After years of recovery, I'm happy to say that in present-day 2020, the worst is behind us, as SeaWorld has upped their game, focusing more on life and rehabilitation, while at the same time adding groundbreaking thrill rides that got them back on top. Last year when I made my annual visit to SeaWorld Orlando, I couldn't be happier to see the park was packed to the brim with guests. With today's fanfiction, we're going back to the days when SeaWorld was on the verge of bankruptcy. The time where we all predict the fate of SeaWorld and what would happen to their pars. On today's episode of What if, we go into the dark depths of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment as we ask the question, "What if SeaWorld went out to Business?" What if the controversy, declining popularity, and protesters got the best of this beloved company? Just note, this video is just for fun and is NOT meant to be taken seriously. Recently, SeaWorld's stock was through the roof and with all of their new for 2020 coasters, we are looking at one of the best amusement chains out there. Now, let's take a step back in time and uncover the future of the defunct SeaWorld.

I wasn't expecting this to be "what if this had already happened" i was more expecting "what if seaworld goes bankrupt because they're literally doing what made six flags go bankrupt"
nick s source?
Not to mention almost all of the seaworld parks have above average attendance.
I like the idea for San Antonio with the shuttle taking you between parks. That would actually make sense. And I doubt SWSD could ever get a hyper, theyre pushing the limits with their 150 foot coasters right by the coastline
40ft ditch?
@@AmusementLabs cue the crazy argument that a coaster with a 200 ft drop but doesnt stand 200 ft tall isnt a hyper
@@AirtimeThrills meanwhile Goliath has the deep tunnel.

0:52 isn’t an accurate depiction. SeaWorld didn’t become more focused on rescue and release as a way to improve their image. SeaWorld has been rescuing animals since the foundation of their park, they just failed to ever talk about it because their rescue work was always considered “behind the scenes” work. It needed no publicity.
Thrill Up with Jordan I should have emphasized on it more when I said “They have upped there game” meaning they weren’t starting, but making what they were doing more known. Sorry for the confusion.
Yesss Zach a collab with xscream thrills!!!
I wish they never go out of business, I really want them to thrive ( great video btw ❤️👍 )
I think Cedar Fair is a more likely option to buy out Sea World Entertainment. CF has over $200m set aside to purchase parks and Six Flags is at a low right now.
I'm watching this quite seriously now lol
but then not lol because that would be bad if they went bankrupt
Sea World San Antonio has a lot of property to work with, which is an advantage over SFFT. However, the quarry wall at SFFT is an amazing back drop for the park. Personally, I think it would be difficult to manage 2 separate Six Flags parks in the same city unless the one became more dedicated to theming, developing some sorta "niche" to bring in the guests. If not, one would cannibalize the other. Great video Zach! Now to have you featured in one of my upcoming videos 👍
I like the shamu shows so much
I'd like to see a "What If BOTH SeaWorld AND Six Flags went out of Business" video
Love this idea and collab!🤩
did he say the worst is behind us. girl everyone suffering now
Honestly would love both a six flags and cedar fair chain park in Florida.
Sea World is a for profit business establishment that keeps the interests of the animals so long as they are profitable. All the controversy surrounding Seaworld should be seen as acceptable despite the rose tinted glasses. A majority of the animals are captured from the wild or captive bred. They do little rehabilitation and education, as Seaworld is first and foremost a zoo/them park. Keeping any animal in a cage for human entertainment is wrong, but keeping such aware, sensitive, intelligent animals like whales and dolphins is nothing short of cruelty and torture. I suggest researching the detriments living in, essentially, a bathtub, does to anyones mind, whale or human. Love the rides, sure. But establishments like this should be met with vitriol. Theyre outdated and cruel. Love the coasters all you want, but please, align your thoughts with your morals.
I think Cedar Fair would buy San Antonio to get a foothold in Six Flag's home turf.
That would be interesting. But honestly, maybe Disney would be interested in another US park that could theoretically operate 365 days a year
I have been waiting on this and it's a collab with XScreamThrills that is a plus. Putting in some work Zack. Also I know fan fiction but I doubt a Hyper/Giga will ever come to SWSD. San Diego Costal Commision has to approve anything over 30 feet tall so the odds that it will be over 200 feet is slim to none. I'm honestly surprised they approved Emperor at 150 feet tall.
Hey there, are you going to do a "What If" Six Flags goes out of business, or Cedar Fair?
If six flags bought SeaWorld. It would be like Hawaii turned into San Francisco. Seaworld:beautiful parks, even a park from their chain was voted as the worlds most beautiful park. Six Flags: who cares about maintenance and nice staff we need 6 Goliath coasters in this park.
0:45 lol
Looking past that memesorthy comment, let's be honest, San Antonio and San Diego would get Geagua Laked (in the Cedar Fair sense) being that they're too close to Fiesta Texas and Magic Mountain, and their coasters would mostly be sent to "Six Flags Florida" to up the coaster count. Eventually however, I think it's likely "Six Flags Florida" would get a Raptor. Kraken and Journey to Atlantis would keep their names, although they would theamed to the DC comics versions of Kraken, Posiden, and Atlantis knowing that there are comics they could go to for that. Manta would probably become Aquaman, with the splash being the namesake. I don't think they'd keep the fish in the aquarium que but the water would stay there with theaming to Aquaman thrown in. They'd get Great White from San Diego and make it "Batman: the ride" and Steel Eel would become "Superman: Ride of Steel". Manta from San Diego is a toss up whether they'd get it, it may have just been sent to Magic Mountain and given the Aquaman theme to pay omage to it's origins that people in the area would know.
Yay
I would for Sea World to buy some Six Flags parks to make them awesome, namely Six Flags St. Louis because Six Flags hates my home park.
Six flags wouldn’t purchase or retain SWSA. I suspect that cedar fair would try to purchase the park to combine it with Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels
Not till I ride the rest of their newest coasters
You should do what if Disney parks went out of business?
If Seaworld went out of Business....
NO Iron Gwazi
If you ever and I mean ever say Busch gardens tampa would close and be renamed to six flags Florida, we goin have a fight
SWSD has a 160 height limit, so the Hyper, unless scaled down, would be impossible.
alex seidner Thanks for bring that to my attention!
It actually has a 33 ft height limit. They have to apply for an exemption every time. That’s why their coasters are the same color.
bro if six flags owned sea world entertainment, it would have been like giving warren buffet (the cheapest billionaire on earth) cedar point. As much as i personally prefer six flags over cedar fair still that would have been a disaster.
Seaworld orlando is good Also what do
you think about mako
Would prefer Herschends to buy them put instead, the family ran company would respect the animals and improve the parks.
San Diego has a strict height restriction and a B&M Hyper coaster would break that. A Hyper coaster would be impossible there. That is why their dive coaster is only 150ft tall. As enthusiasts you guys should know that...
bro no one cares about san diego. They have no reason to know that.
SEAS entertainment has one foot in the grave already. At this point, it's not "if" they go out of business, but when.
Tbh sound plausible , i can see six flags buying the seaworld and busch gardens parks, however i dont think they will change the name or the format of the parks to that of the six flags parks, Six flags is big in acquiring properties , as an example of the recent six flags buys , you can see that they don't always want to re brand everything to the six flags chain , name and game, that format works for them at the moment and it makes them a profit as of now , however i think they are willing to expand to the "premium theme park" sector as well , if you look at it , the seaworld and busch gardens parks are already complete parks that dont need a lot of investments , for this reason alone i think six flags is highly interested in buying the chain and exploiting them as is , like all the investments in coasters they dont really need at all , the parks are solid as is , however i still dont think that six flags wile purchase the parks if it comes to this, i thin cedar fair will be the better option .
It's also kinda obvious that the shareholders of seaworld entertainment com. are pushing this company into bankruptcy , and ofc covid-19 doesn't make this a lot better, like look at all there crazy investments over the past couple of years and for the next couple of years , its sixflags bankruptcy 2008 all over again , also with the same background story behind it.
i will not be suprised if this chain gets new owners in a couple of years , however i dont think that will change the way the parks will operate, look or feel at all
Sea world is on same same shrooms as six flags in 2000
This could still happen though
The current CEO just left the company
So you are basically saying that sea world should have closed?
As if six flags would buy sea world.
Look at them now. 90% of employees laid off and the CEO resigned.
Do “what if six flags went out of business”
NOOOOOO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

😎
I would rather cedar fair buy them rather than six flags. Because honestly six flags really sucks in general. Lmao
Six flags is buying LEGO land in winter haven Florida
Not going out of business!!!!!!!
I still find it annoying that a documentary that was heavily edited to make them look bad was able to actually have any impact.
Coaster Labs yeah they didn’t deserve it
@@nikora2626 yeah. They used people dressed as Marine biologists who were not and then they showed a whale being mildly aggressive then cut to a trainer with a large bloody gash on his head. What they leave out is that those two clips were completely unrelated. The trainer had hit his head on the screen on stage really hard cause they're just straight steel. It's despicable what those people tried to spin against Sea world.
Coaster Labs i know. It doesn’t make much sense why the public hate sea world. They have done a few bad things but nowhere nearly as bad as blackfish is making them out to be
@@nikora2626 yeah, so many parks have done shady stuff. Peta does shady stuff ALL the time. Search their 'no kill' shelters that, oddly enough, seem to have a very high kill rate...
That’s the media and public these days.
What would happen if it shut down? I'll tell you exactly what would happen with me. I'd be depressed and extremely angry. Why? Because I actually like this chain of parks more than any other (even Disney and Universal). I love the combination of incredible thrill rides with immersive animal encounters and those roller coasters they have at all 5 parks are some of the best I've ever ridden. In fact, the 2 Busch Gardens parks and SeaWorld Orlando are my 3 favorite parks. Also Kraken is my favorite floorless coaster, Griffon is my favorite dive coaster, Alpengeist is my favorite inverted coaster, Manta is my favorite flying coaster, The Big Bad Wolf was my favorite suspended coaster, Steel Eel is my favorite hyper coaster from Morgan and Cheetah Hunt is my favorite roller coaster ever (or Millennium Force at Cedar Point (I go back and forth)). Not only that but all 3 Aquatica waterparks are my favorite waterparks as well with the one in Orlando being the best of them all. So it would be fare to say I was very worried Blackfish would destroy the chain and I am very great fun that it didn't.
I'm not looking forward to pantheon, it looks short and lack luster!
why? it's really not that short and is definitely not "lackluster". It has a beyond vertical drop, a bunch of high speed launches and cool elements. @Crazy Coasters International Have you even watched the POV?
