RonJohn63 I was going to say the same thing. I can understand half of what he says... I’m a half-deaf descendant of Smyrni & I was very excited for this one, too... turn up this guy’s mic next time he speaks & no one will fall asleep; the content is great but damn it’s hard to focus.

This was interesting, but I was expecting the lecture to focus on the physical form of ancient Greek cities rather than social structure and philosophy.

"Aristotle just went on the boat and waited to see where the wind blew!" Great explanation of the reason Aristotle chosed to become Alexander's tutor. Aristotle had regarding himself no final cause, no form, no material cause - just the efficient wind. Lol

A perfect example of a lecturer talking a lot but saying so little. What a waste of a chance to make some statements of sense and wisdom.

LoL the Hellenistic period? There's no such thing! The word didn't even exist back then! Had it been the Macedonian period, that makes much more sense. We know that the greeks were only a minority in Alexander's army and since the Rosetta Stone middle text has been decoded and found to be ancient Slavic Macedonian Sanskrit, which also means that Ptolemy and Kleopatra spoke Slavic Macedonian as did Alexander the Great himself!
Considering that the topic of this video is about ancient cities of ancient times, it should have been based on Macedonia, the Etruscan's and the Carthaginian's and Egypt! This is where you find ancient cities! There's no archeological evidence of greek existence before the 1500Bc volcanic eruption on the island of Santorini! Calling Greese ancient compared to the above mentioned civilizations has to be a joke or a remark made by someone who really knows nothing about what they should be talking about...

No reputable scholar would accept your alternative history. Fake.

@@charlesfenwick6554 what is a reputable scholar anyway? Does that even exist?
Unlike yourself, I have the ability to question anything anytime anywhere! If I can find an alternate theory, that clearly means that the original outcome hasn't been solved! A proper outcome will have no room for more speculation!
You have to remember that the original outcome was derived from the available evidence at that point in time! And like a good scientific research method, if and when new evidence shows up, it should be further investigated and determined if any modification is needed for a final accepted outcome or not, it should not be discarded but added to the file showing that it has been investigated.
The problem with humanity is that it seems to just accept findings no matter when it was found and then hangs onto it like a religious belief! This happens in all areas of science! Especially in archeology!
When you look into the greek/Macedonian conflict, the truth reveals itself, the fact is that ancient Greeks are different to modern day greeks, take the Rosetta Stone for example! It has three different languages on it! Let's have a look at the greek text on the bottom, right there we can see an alphabet that the modern day greeks were not using! Modern day greeks couldn't read it, it was claimed to be greek because this same text existed in the area that we today know as modern day greece! Even the words used on the Rosetta Stone in the greek text is not what modern day greeks were using!
Now! If we look at the middle text on the Rosetta Stone which was believed to be Egyptian Demotic even though no one at the time could read it, but has since been deciphered and found to be ancient Slavic Macedonian Sanskrit text! How can we know that it was actually Slavic Macedonian? We know because even though the Sanskrit alphabet has been forgotten, the spoken words from that point in time are conserved and are completely understandable by today's modern Macedonian people!
There is so much evidence that the greeks were only in attendance in historical events and not in any way of an official capacity! And it's perfectly visible if you look look into it with unbiased eyes! But if you are one of those people whom refuse to look at any new developments because hey! It's already been worked out and there's no need to question it... Then there's no need to continue this conversation, your mind is set and there's no reason or logic that could possibly change your position on History.
History isn't about politics! History is about knowing who we used to be! And we can only know if we know the truth! And from what I have seen, greek history is fake history, developed as propaganda for the benefit of politics! No country likes pulling it's own chain and screaming "hey ladies, look at me! I'm better than you!" Than the Greece! Period! To busy being self centered they forgot to keep an eye on their economy! These new imposters and definitely not the same people as the ancient Greeks! If Germany didn't step in and provide financial support, greece would have collapsed and erased itself from existence... There was never a Hellenistic period! It has never been found to exist!

Most historians possess tunnel vision! I unfortunately for you don't have that particular problem!
I never find myself out of depth, no matter the topic! Astronomy, physics, geography, electricity and electronics and so on!
Dude! I know a lot about a lot! If you think that you are going to throw me off by turning to science LoL, you would be very mistaken...
