Absolutely, If they had some sensor to detect the item was out of stock and grey it out, cross it out or just not show it at all that would make so much more sense. This idea is is so stupid. I’d say maybe to make changing the prices easier it’s useful but they are still putting the old fashioned tags anyway……

Watching someone else shop like this was enough to raise my blood pressure. Several screens playing large ads and/or otherwise hiding the inventory for 10 seconds or more. A person could easily waste an extra 5-10 minutes in this section of the store.

Doors probably going to be opened 500 times more than they should be since you can't actually see what's inside. That means items aren't as cold, electricity costs more which passes onto the customer, the units lifespan is shortened, and it just ticks off the customer. Great concept, but not realistic.
