i really admire the parsi people.they are only community in india 100% litreacy rate.and their contribution to indian society in phenomenal from dadabhai naoroji,jameshedji tata,homi bhabha,J.R.D tata to Ratan tata.these community is like a leaf in the pool of water.definitely the goverment should support them.

Few days back I met my old Parsi friend at Fort, Mumbai.He sarcastically told me that Parsons are the endangered species.True,sixty years back when I came to Mumbai there were a good number of Parsis in Mumbai at Fort, Charney Road,Grant Road,Tardeo,Dadar TT ,Andheri and Jogeshwari West.But very few Parsis are found these days.Their number is dwindling.
I love Parsis!! They are so cute. I love their food aswell. I hope they grow in numbers. They are the most amazing community who joined the Indian subcontinent and vowed to blend in. They never tried to conquer or indoctrinate hatred against the Hindus back then. I really wish they grow in numbers.

The parsi girls who are marrying into another religion and still want them to be counted as parsi alongwith their children don't understand that we(non-parsis) want to see parsi community in their true form with their language intact , their culture intact, their way of living intact..
so when a parsi guy marries a non-parsi girl then all the 3 things will be passed on to his wife as well as his children(most of the time) but when a parsi girl marries a non-parsi guy then the parsi girl will be speaking a language of her husband, will live the life as his husband does and the culture too will be different so obviously the kids of her will fall in line with their non-parsi father..
so just for the sake of getting the parsis number up if you want to count everyone then after few generations you will find hundreds of thousands of parsis but the real ones will have already vanished by that time..!! :)
It's NT a question about that lady or a particular person.. it's a general question, if Kid of such couples want to follow path of his mother religion not father. Why and who are we to decide what is right and what is wrong. That kid has the right to decide whether he wants to follow father religion( Hindu , Muslim,etc...) Or Parsi.. it should not be about ego and all..one should have the right to follow whatever he/ she wants to follow

It's correct that Parsi people are basically a ethnic community following a particular religion but don't you think it's a better idea to follow a religion or path which stimulate your spiritual journey and it should not be decided by the family in which you were born.

Parsis should allow genuine people to accept their faith also. They have soo much stringent laws and won't even allow others to set feets in fire temple let alone accepting children from intermarriages. It would be a sad thing to see that happening. Why not let others also join you? Why live in isolation and not share the joy and happiness with others? With time everything needs change and so should they.

This is not about religion. It is a stand to save the Parsi culture or "Parsipanu". The decision whom to allow entrance or not lies with the Trustees of the fire-temple and the head priest of the fire-temple.

I as a Jat-Sikh have a simple solution for them. Just increase your population by having more kids. You are not poor thus can manage easily. If you mix that is a Parsi boy marries a non-Parsi girl or a Parsi girl marries a non-Parsi boy you can not claim to be Parsi but are doomed. Parsis have their own pure ethnicity, religion, culture, etc. and the moment they merge the Parsi nation will vanish. I am aJat-Sikh the Jats even though we have much greater numbers are very proud of their pure ethnicity and out of caste marriage is looked down on. It is the multinationals who are trying to mix (we know who are behind this particularly) people globally and also in India by giving goodies since it suits their agenda. But this shall fail in India also besides Parsees are not greedy. I request the Parsees never to accept the kind of people like Adi Burjorji Godrej; his family is no more Parsees the same as if a Jat married a non-Jat.

I was rather confused, when the present youngsters talked about the dwindling Parsi community worldwide. but that is not right.Zoroastrianism is a worldwide phenomenon be they Zoroastrian Kurds, Tajiks Afghanis or Russians. The word Parsi came into existence only in India because most of them came from a province of Pars in Iran. In Pars, there were also communities of Shias, Jews, Bahais, Christians, Hindus and Muslims. If you speak to a person from Pars province and assume they are Zoroastrians , they would take it as degrading them, because the indeginous Zoroastrians were named ghabars, and the Shias had degraded them as inferior infidels and even called them Najjis or untouchables, although , we picked up a fair amount of prestige in the PAHLAVI Dynasty and those who went to other parts of the world, still called themselves Zoroastrians, and prospered, but sadly only those Iranian Zoroastrians, who were left behind were not so lucky, as their bretheren in India. .So, what we can say is, that the reduction of Parsis is taking place in India but not the practising Zoroastrians of the vast world.When the Parsis of India came in to prominence was in the British Raj, from 1678 to 1947, and as the British left we were left high and dry without our "Dutch Uncles" and our influence receded from that day onwards. Never the less, we have not done so badly, because we had already infiltrated in business with the Hindu and Muslim communities and so far we have gelled well, despite our broken Hindi/and Urdu, but we can still boast about our command of English, for which we have to thank our ancestors promoting with the Brits with schools of higher educationSo, there is no reason to despair you young Parsi Zoroastrians, the Kurds and the Tajiks will take command and progress as we did in India. May Ahura Mazda bless you all and guide you, to the road to Ashoi just hold your head high and chin up.
The "jadi rana" tale has turned out to ne the work of romantiscized fiction.
The Parsis are proven to have been descended from Persian trading colonies that extended from the coast of the province of pars eastward on the coasts of Balochistan & Sindh(Pakistan), and finally Gujarat (western india).
How do we know this? There are still remnants of Zoroastrianism in Balochistan & Sindh so we know the Zoroastrians of India were part a Continuum into western India in the same way populations of lions were.
The only thing is Zoroastrianism vanished from the 'bridge areas' between Pars & Gujarat which is what gives rise to the myth that the Zoroastrians of India 'escaped' Iran to get there. It's like saying lions escaped Iran & swam the sea and landed in western India when it's most plausible that lion populations always formed a continuum that extended into western india.

honest opinion yes pandit ji Sikhs we’re always a minority in present day India’s Punjab as well. Soon they’ll probably even be 1.7% in Punjab let alone India. There was a time after the first Sikh rule of Banda Singh Bahadur (who avenged the martyrdom of the Guru’s sons) that there was literally only 2 Sikhs left as Sikhs where so heavily hunted down for their way of life. That time will soon come again, and probably repeat itself a number of times over. The truth is that the most precious Rubies and diamonds are always the most rare to find and scarce in numbers. As far I am informed the founder of this beautiful faith Zarathushtra was born in today Afghanistan and has now almost no followers in Afghanstan at all and a very small number in Iran. I do not know if it written or not in the holy Avesta that Farsi (zoroastrier) must be born as Farsi.? we are witnessing that the number of Farsi followers in the world is decreasing from year to year. I do not know if in Germany or in Europe there are some Zoroastrier or not. In India but there is a new religion the Bahai faith which has its origin from Iran and has many Iranian and Afghan followers in India to. According to my information these two religion the Farsi and the Bahai religions have many things in common like the Now Roz (New year) My question is why the Farsis do not join the Bahais in India as they have many things in common and also the same cultrue? This will from my point of view help the Farsi religion to servive.

Because these two religion you mentioned are fundamentally different. Also Zoroaster wasn’t from Afghanistan though Afghanistan at that time was part of Iran. Historians say he was from somewhere between Afghanistan and Aral sea or may be Caucuses region.
By the way there are about 85 million Iranian and Persian living in Iran and the Parsis community is not declining. Being Zoroastrian is a faith and not as an ethnic group. I think the concepts being mixed up in this video.
