A Wonderfully Evolved and Cultured Community. One of the Nicest and most Giving Minorities , a Country can ever have.
I really appreciate the depths to which Shubhangi has travelled to cover the story. Hats off to your journalism. It is rare to find such journalism today. The Print is doing good work.
Thank you so much. At ThePrint, we focus on such deeply reported stories from the ground. Please keep supporting us!
I wish our parsi brother multiply 100 times❤❤. I luv and respect them ,pride of India
Good job Indian government and Parsi community ❤
We need to also support people of Baha'i faith, Jews and other minorites in India to thrive.
@y.u.so.
Anglo Indians also.
@@ex.hindu.now.atheist yup 👍🏾 these are real minorities and need support to grow their population.

Yes.
*HOWEVER,* I wonder whether Iranis (who are also Zoroastrians in India) are included in this endeavour, or whether it is about Parsi Zoroastrians only.
Indeed , well said !
Great community of India and have contributed immensely in the development of the nation .
May their tribes and population increase manifold .
Can you do a similar program on the Saraswat Brahmin community? This community also is approaching extinction. Deepika padukone, Gurudatt Padokone, Shyam Benegal are personalities from this community. We are basically Kashmiri Pandits settled in coastal karnataka. Do not mistake us for the GSB community.
That is the Chitrapur Saraswat community, to which my mother (a Kaikini) belonged. Their numbers are believed to be fewer than 20,000 now.
Sadly, that won't be a possibility as your community is part of the Umbrella Larger (TUL) Majority in the country. And The Print isn't a fan of TUL community.
Very nice story to have focussed on. Keep up the good work Shubhangi.
The real persian, before izlam invasion
Great documentary but poor sound quality in parts
Wow!! Give this Journalist a raise!! We rarely see such ground level reporting covering such wide spectrums in a topic
In school we have studied in text books about Parsis. “Parsis came to India and they mixed in India like sugar in milk.” India is milk and Parsis are sugar.
I am from Bharuch. There were many Parsis lived in Bharuch. Unfortunately never interacted any Parsi people.
Genetic methods should be adoped to save our precious Parsi population.
Parsis should greet each other "Jio Parsi" with a thumbs up sign 👍 to remind each other of the future.
Very informative and interesting video. Just one thing that can be done to preserve culture is to give equal rights to children of Parsis who have married non Parsis. We are a Hindu family and have two Parsi women who are married into our family. Also, I have Parsi friends who have married Hindus but the kids are still not allowed into Agyari or cannot officially become Parsis if they want to. So I guess if that one change is made, it will make lot of difference in preserving culture.
Chadta suraj dheere dheere dhalta hai dhal jayega. Time is brutal nobody can escape.
It's really unfortunate. We can't afford to lose such vibrant community. Govt need to do something out of the box so that the Parsi community grow again.
(Parsi) Manuscripts lying in dust in "GODREJ" Almirahs ! 😂
I just know that the Parsis are supposed to be very peaceful and Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara) came from this heritage, a very loving and extraordinarily talented human being, while he lived his life on earth. I hope they may always remain a peaceful and caring culture. ❤
In 1850s pecefools did arlund 7 riots even against them
Keep them protected
It's really an emergency situation..Government and community leaders should come forward to stem this decline...Hope TATAs are listening..
Many would say that the Syriac St.Thomas Christians of Keralam and Kerala origin have the Parsi complex with declining fertility rates
🎉
The State of Gujarat dominates India's Industries(88 out of 164 Billionaires in India are Gujaratis) and is prospering becoz of Gujarati Culture to Accept all Religions and Elevate those People with Good Intensions and A Massive Entrepreneurial Culture and not bcoz Modi is favouring Gujarat, Gujarat has always been an Trading State,But Corrupt khangress suprresed India's Economy by Socialist policies, But When Modi came, He implemented Liberal Policies and made Gujarat as an Indutrialized Hub of Asia
As I understand according to Parsi community law, when a Parsi woman marries a non Parsi, their children are not considered Parsis. They should change this law in their own best interests. Also this law is very patriarchal, doesn't really reflect existing Parsi ethos and attitudes
Zoroastrianism has been wiped off from Iran but i don't see any word or protests or rallies about their historical persecution.
The truth is like many in urban areas migrate abroad and those aren't taken into account. The population is in a minute decline rather than a drastic decline as most would think
Individually, Parsis could be brilliant, but as a community, they lack intelligence. When the Parsis originally landed in India, from Iran, they intermarried with the locals and increased their numbers. Now there are so many bars on intermarriage, that they have even kept the recent (19th & early 20th century) Iranian Zorastrian away.
I suspect that even the Bohra Muslims were once Parsis.
Are Irani Zoroastrians included in this endeavour, or is it about Parsi Zoroastrians only ?
Irani Zoroastrians are always included.
Isn't it the same thing? Iran is the same as Persia right?

"Isn't it the same thing? Iran is the same as Persia right?"
=========================
Persia is the old name of present-day Iran.
The similarity between Pasis in India and Iranis in India is that both groups came from Persia (i.e., Iran), and that they both follow Zoroastrianism.
HOWEVER, there are differences with regard to WHEN they immigrated into India, and in some of their cultural practices.
"Shubhangi Parsis" in the title 😂
The Anglo Indian community should also be allowed to benefit from Jio Parsi community.
🤍💙
Problem is that parsis marry within themselves , leading to compounding genetic issues.
Mujhe bhi parsi do, mera paisa le lia
Intermarriage should be allowed to maintain a continuity of tradition.
Parsis are not allowed to marry outside their religion
Most khadoos people

Parsis also adopted Gujarati title likes Mistry, Modi, Gandhi, Mehta and Patel
