Well, I went to a lot of Dead shows and I also ingested a lot of fun treats st those shows and I still manage to get the Final Jeopardy right most of the time and I also manage to get the NPR Sunday puzzle right most of the time so I don't think you have anything to worry about. 👍🤣
I graduated high school in June 1989, a month before this. The Dead played at Chrysler Arena in A2 back in '87 or '88. I'll always remember the Blue Unicorn....
Me also. Those theee Alpine 89 shows were the best I went to ever imo....Remember when people were sliding down the hill after it rained on their asses and stomachs? I went for a ride to! 💙💚💜💖
Wow? Seriously? Even as the Dead are by FAR my absolute, hands-down, favourite band of all time...ALL TIME! ... (well....along with certain collaborations that featured Miles Davis, that is...he and them are a close 2nd place I'd suppose....) Neil Peart isn't just slightly better - he's well in the lead! Neil Peart was a rhythmic genius with prodigious talent. Also, I find it odd that you'd put Mickey somehow ahead of Bill as far as drummers go. I've always found Kreutzmann to be the better drummer of the two.
I would never wonder at this question, it's so clearly Neil peart and like the other commenter I say that as someone who loves the grateful dead and their music more than any other artist. Plus, mickey isn't even better than Billy
Antonio Sanchez, Steve Gadd, Purdie, Chester Thompson, Krupa to name a few. Peart is overrated, not saying he isnt insanely talented, he is, he just isnt heads and shoulders above everyone else. All of those I've just listed are all equals to peart. If you dont think it's close you arent listening and instead likely are just parroting the same tired shit everybody else does. As far as Mick and Bill...Hart first of all is a percussionist, so comparing him and Peart is like comparing weir to Garcia. They do different thingd. Billy can swing with the greatest, period. Peart plays the same show might after night. The other guys can really swing.
@@Stonecrow25 the thing with Peart is that while all the other drummers you mentioned played incredibly, neil memorized his drum parts and fought hard to play them the exact same as the record for every song for every single show. That’s why he was better
@@hpatss4966 For the last album, Neil said he wanted to improvise, not compose his drum parts. The producer, Nick R whatever, even came into the studio with a conductor baton to lead. Nick even made Peart repeat parts saying "You can do even better." Later Peart said, "and he was right, I did."
My favorite part was where Mickey Hart just kind of fucked off for a while while Kreutzmann was playing To be fair, he was probably setting up his talking drum
Deadheads have very low standards when it comes to drum solos, LOL. This reminds me of something John C Reilly and Will Farrell would’ve come up with on the set of Step-Brothers. Long Live Prestige Worldwide!!😂
Bill K is definitely a kick ass drummer. Mickey is... pretty cool when he steps away from the kit and plays his world drums. I just don't like when they're both on a drum kit.
I was there! We never missed an Alpine show. And I remember this drum solo too. I'm so happy I haven't killed off those brain cells yet!
Samzies😂❤

Better drum soloist:
Mickey Hart
or
Neil Peart? 🤔

Great jamming mf

How the hell did these two guys pass for drummers
By avoiding you.
You can't imagine how stupid you sound. We were there. We get it. #NFA ⚡️🌹⚡️
Is this clown serious???!
You do know about the G.Dead, right? A lot of improvisation, which is what this drum section is among the regular concert songs.
