- In her new book, "Unhinged," former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman claims the Trump campaign was aware of the existence of a recording of Donald Trump using the N-word. She describes an October 2016 phone conversation with Lynne Patton, then-assistant to Eric Trump, spokesperson Katrina Pierson and campaign communications director Jason Miller in which they discuss how to deal with the potential fallout from its release. She released a tape of that conversation to CBS News and joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why she was recording conference calls during the campaign, address rumors about the nature of her relationship with President Trump and questions about her credibility.

Never really was an Omarosa fan, but I was proud of how she handled herself here. They tried to bully/disrespect her. She handled them with no problem. Like her or not, in my opinion she is smarter and more composed than all three of them.
They keep asking why she taped, but this experience demonstrates that she needed those tapes. Furthermore, this is public service, no one should have a problem with taping as they are paid by taxpayers and report to us. Nothing here is covered by a security clearance and public officials do not have an expection of privacy in their public work.

Name Less in Gayle's defense, a lot of times these hosts are told what questions to ask by producers of the show. Sometimes they have ear pieces in their ears and the producer, or someone with authority, will guide them during the interview and tell them what questions to ask. It is possible these are not really her questions, but i don't know.
