An absolute Landmark of a series...that could have run and run !! Foyle and Sam had a huge screen impact. One of the very best British dramas...across ANY era.
Love Michael Kitchens. Always have. He has a special charisma, quiet & low key but oh so effective. Honeysuckle Weeks is superb. They must have had a close relationship as friends because it shines through the acting. Thanks for this!
how much i wished to thank everyone who were part of the war which gave me an upbringing so beautiful. well done foyles war for making it so real for me.
From Holland with love!🌷 What a remarkable series by Anthony Horowitz and players such as Michael Kitchen and Honeysuckle Week. I find this so British and enjoyed all of it. And now such a lovely number with scenes chosen by you: Thank you!
Honeysuckle Weeks (Sam) is the total package ....... personality and also very attractive. Michael Kitchen (DCS Foyle) is totally believable. Foyles War is like good wine it does get improves with age and it is so much better than anything currently available. I am pleased to own the complete series on DVD and recommend everyone buys the set.
This is lovely. You have skillfully captured so many of those moments in which they share that sparkling camaraderie and quiet affection for each other.
What a song! It tears at my heart just like the clips fill my eyes! This is a beautifully done video, and brings back the wonderful memories of my favorite series, Foyle's War; and my favorite actor, Michael Kitchen. Thank you for posting. (and I hope you're right that we have not seen the last of these two...as Anthony Horowitz himself said, "never say never"!).
Absolutely beautiful vid. *sniff* and very appropriate song given the time these two spent together. It was such a wonderful partnership, its only natural theyd form an unbreakable bond.
Jees, this was good! Soothing my aching heart for havin just finished with the final season a few days ago. I've always loved the development of the relationship between Foyle and Sam - as much as Foyle seemed to be annoyed with Sam at times, the more he actually cared for he and so beautifully captured in this video
@@rudolfabelin383 Michael kitchen himself has two sons, no daughters. But he was and probably still is a great father figure to Honeysuckle weeks. Just like at the very end of the Foyles War series, Sam asks Foyle to be the godfather to her unborn child, to which he replies one word, "Honored", Honeysuckle Weeks asked Michael kitchen to be part of her formal, Episcopal wedding, where he read the First Lesson. I'm sure he had a similar reply when she asked him to do this!
I wasn’t expecting to be carried along by the growth and evolution of Sam & Foyle’s relationship in this series. I thought each episode would re-start from scratch (more in the Holmes-Watson model). That said, I find Sam’s trajectory more interesting than Foyle’s, perhaps because she’s younger and more elastic.
I've sometimes wondered if separaton from Michael Kitchen at the end of Foyle's War is what put Honeysuckle Weeks off the edge for a while. She seemed very fragile and disappeared. Her family had to search for her.
How? How is it that you know me? I hope I'd be forgiven for asking you that question when you provide as soundtrack to clips of an actor I've been in love with since childhood (mine, not his, but close)....in my all-time favorite long-running TV series....And you Marry it with( the exclusion of The Beatles,) the man who is my favorite songwriter/ lead guitar(sorry, EC) player and master of the minor key I'm still crying

This lady portrayed the women that were the backbone of British Society throughout the Second World War and she did it bloody well !!
Beautiful emotional track by Mark Knopfler matches the scenes perfectly. Very well done indeed. Put tears in my eyes too!
Thank you for your comment! I couldn’t help but think of them when I heard this song.
