I'm about 99% certain mine makes the same noise. Thanks for leaving in the mistakes too, it really adds an element of normalcy (if that makes sense) to diagnostic/repair videos.

You're so welcome! The mistakes happen naturally 🤠

When I adjust the valves in my 1970 c10 Chevy 350 I adjust while running and slowly adjust till the ticking goes away and it’s golden.

Awesome thank you for the info. Just finishing up the valve stems on my L28ET 240Z and was wondering if a valve adjustment was needed. Better safe than sorry

What song was playing while you were doing the valve adjustment @1:32? I know you said the group is Midnight Tenderness, but it’s not listed on their band camp song list.

I was lucky enough to have a track list made especially for the videos. I will talk to them on hosting the tracks online.

What!? You use the gap 0.028 Intake and 0.030 Exhaust. There are 2 other fellas doing the very same procedure on the L - Series engine one says use .008 Intake and .10 Exhaust. Then another says .010 Intake and .012 Exhaust!!! Lord have mercy! WHICH ONE IS IT!? I want to do my 82 ZX because the rebuilt engine is making that "clicking" sound like after the 1rst adjustment you did here. So again, which gap measurement should I use??? What year is your ZX brah?

      Heya Ace!
It depends on if your doing it on a hot or cold engine.
Start with cold to get used to the process then do a hot one.
My measurements are for hot and in millimetres.
Those other measurements are actually the same but they're in inches.
Depending on what country you're from where the imperial or metric will use other one.
Sorry for the late reply Ace I hope this helps out mate any other questions hit me up I'm very active on Instagram for these real quick fire questions.

I've adjusted to factory spec. When tightening the 17 and 14, sometimes the adjustment goes out of place. Takes precision and patience to carefully tighten and get it right. Once done properly you will not hear that lifters at all. The engine will be silent.

The FSM is a really good guide but there's some real steep learning curves sometimes
