I got this camera yesterday to upgrade from XT-1 and took bunch of accidental photos and pressed "Q" button hundred times. I like them both and will keep both.
Great review! Thank you, Dunna for being objective and honest! I've switched from X-T2 to X-H1. No regrets so far. Yep, the battery live and Q button placement are a bit of a pain. Hopefully, this can be addressed in the next Fuji camera iteration. However, the positives of X-H1 far outweigh some of its negatives. X-H1 ergonomics and buttons placements (AF-L and AF-ON) are very good. The fortified camera body is a pleasure to use with bigger and heavier lenses (8-16 F/2.8, 16-55 F/2.8 and 50-140 F/2.8). Mechanical shutter release mechanism is a stellar. Firmware V2.0 introduced additional image stabilisation (IBIS + image stabilised lenses). Also, with firmware 2.00 the file size is not anymore limited to 4GB (for 64GB+ SD cards) in video. Well done, Fuji!
That's so great to hear that the new firmware addressed some of the issues! That's one of the best things about fujifilm. They keep giving to their customers even after they've already purchased the camera.
Great review! As someone who's reviewed both this and the X-T3, I found myself following along generating counterpoints and corrections to the things you were saying in the video, but just a few seconds later you would hit those points. I think you covered everything really well. I was hoping to hear that a firmware update brought exFAT to the X-H1 to stop the annoying 4GB video file limit. They brought it to the X-T3, would like to see it on the X-H1 as well. And yeah, that crazy shutter button!
Thanks Gerald! It definitely feels like it’s almost there with the X-H1, and that they fixed a lot in the X-T3. Just like any company, they just needed to put out a few models to work out the kinks. This definitely made me really excited to see what’s next for Fuji after being so impressed by the few I’ve had a chance to try.
I’m thinking about getting the XH1 until the XH2 for the current projects I’m working on. In fact, I actually made a separate video on the XH2 and why it will be the perfect camera for me. 👍🏻 Video as always!!
As this was largely designed with the Videographer in mind and not being a video shooter I had no real interest in it initially. That said upon reading updated reviews recently and with recent price drops of almost $1000.00 (under a $1000.00 at some stores with grip), it is piquing my interest. Currently shooting with the X-T2, X-Pro2, and X-E2s, looking at possibly replacing the X-T2 with either the X-T3 or this.
Bam! I think this camera makes the most sense for people who also love the grip. People who don’t mind or prefer the camera being a bit bigger and then you get all of the features.
I found the answer for me. Body and grip, shoulder display, IBIS. Is why I will choose it over the T3. Also plenty of used H1s out there no in near mint conditions!
Hi there, thanks for your post. I love my XH-1 over my XT-3. The ergonomics and the soft shutter button release and the low price where a absolute go for me. The XT-3 feels cheaper but have some nice features too. I'm not a video shooter but a professional portrait photographer, so any video features leaves me cold on any camera. This camera makes very beautiful pictures. I find that the pictures from this camera looking more analog compared to the XT-3. If you don't want to have problems withe the shutter button you have to put on the sound, than you 'hear' when you are sharp and you can push the button further, no problem except when you are allergic for beep sounds...lol.
I've been hearing from a few sources about " better picture quality " from the XH1 compared to XT3. Could you elaborate more on what you mean by " more analog" ...thx
can also get it for $300 which is a crazy good deal but it does require an extra $2,000 to make it work. You buy it with the 8-16mm lens for $2,300, sell the lens (it costs 2,000) and boom you get the xh1 for $300. Heck if you don't want the grip you can sell that too and get it for free rofl. There's also a good 16-55 deal too, not as good as the above one but still very good. Think it averages out to $500 for the camera or so going from memory so not positive. Either way great deals.
I own an a6300 and it's been doing me very well. Watching this made me really want to get the xh1 but then I thought, do I really need it or do I just want it. Thanks for the video man 👍
I think that if I had been using Fuji earlier in life, I would be a diehard fan right now. But I grew up with Nikon and then fell in love with Sony on my own. The day could still come when I decide to get one of these though. I really really like them a lot.
Hey man! I've been in a dilemma for which one to buy, xt3 / xh1. I'm from India and here currently xh1 body with battery grip costs lesser than xt3 body alone. I want IBIS but it increases the size of camera for a regular event shoot and all (xh1 with battery grip). Other scenario is, xt3 with a small gimble (becomes really big when travelling / have to sacrifice stabilised travel videos). I am all in for tech spec game but at the end image or video matters more.
Yeah that’s a tough one. But it seems like that xh1 is probably the better choice for you right now. Sounds like stabilization is very important for you, and the image quality will still be great.
It’s a killer sale! I think the xt2 and xt3 are on sale too. Also, I’ve heard that the upgraded firmware made a huge difference too... Either way, this is a great camera for sure, I’m still really excited to see where they go with the X-H2.
@@dunnadidit Ok so one day has gone by and I am still switching between these three cameras every 5 minutes with no end in sight. Hypothetically if you were to suggest one at those prices (a6500, X-T3, XH-1)..... Which would it be? ☺️
A6500 or wait a week and see if Sony announces a new apsc camera. 😉 admittedly I’m biased because I’m most used to my Sony but I have really enjoyed my Sony experience right from the get go.
Most helpful. I have the XH1 as well. However, I am mostly a photo shooter. Having tried the video mode, I was unable to 'pause' video and resume. I had to stop recording and begin again. There must be a way around this annoying characteristic. Or am I an idiot? Any thoughts. By the way, I love this camera. I got the XT3. Hated the grip. Sold it.
As far as I’m aware, on almost every camera out now, it’s just a start and stop for recording video. I’m not sure if there are any cameras out there with this pause function. I assume what you’re looking for is more like recording to tapes? Where it would be one long file of all the little pieces or video you recorded?
@@dunnadidit YES. How good and helpful to have a start/stop/resume function. I kept reading the manual for a path that would support this flow. Love your street style. When you were discussing "back-button" focus, are you in full manual? I was amazed to see your ISO at 6400. Also that you turned on "high speed" to get multiple shots. I'm a night shooter .Try to stay at 3200 ISO if I can. Now I'll have to experiment.
Interesting! I don’t think I would use that feature but who knows 🤷🏻♂️ I’m pretty much always in manual. And yeah, sometimes you just have to push that ISO to get it right. I typically don’t like to go past 1600 or 3200 on apsc cameras but sometimes you have to.
When it came to editing and color grading the 10 bit video footage there is definitely a difference. Photos were pretty similar but functionality like autofocus are definitely better on the xt3 so the experience of shooting both photos and video was improved.
Those are actually the older clips, unfortunately they had to replace all of the old ones with thicker strings so the newer ones don’t fit. I guess they had some issues with some people’s clips wearing down and breaking 🤷🏻♂️. I took the chance and threw the skinny ones on while I had the X-H1.
Tried this Camera today looking to buy X-H1 moving from d5500 liked it a lot but like I kept touching the Q button buy accident annoying can it be turn off. good review thanks
What do you mean the video doesn’t look great? Just change the profile or tweak it. Log is meant to be graded and Eterna is middle of the road between log and the other simulations.
are there any good adapters out there so that we can mount our ef mount lenses on this body? Great review btw! No bull krap straight to the point and very well made :)
There are definitely some filters out there, I couldn’t tell you how good they are though as I don’t have any experience with them. Thanks for the kind words!
Ok I'm trying to decide if I want to buy the Fuji X-T3, BMPCC 4K, Sony A6500-7000, or GH5. I was leaning towards Fuji X-T3. I'm a hybrid shooter so I need the best of both worlds of video and photos. This is my first time looking at the Fuji XH1. I didn't know this was also a APC-S camera as well. I want to build a rig for the X-T3 as well for filmmaking. Now the question is should I buy the X-T3 or just wait for the XH2 to drop?
Dunna I greet you, the positives you mentioned are interesting and the huge line up of lenses they have is cool but how affordable is these lenses, two you talked about battery life and auto focus not been on point which I don't find interesting. But the built of the camera looks promising.
I didn’t talk about the price of the lenses mostly because everyone seems to have a different outlook on what is expensive and what is not. So I will leave the window shopping to the viewers of my videos lol. I really enjoyed the build of the camera for sure, it felt good in the hand. I am excited to see what they do next.
XT-4? You mean by the time the X-H2 comes around they’ll basically be ready for another X-T upgrade leaving the X-H series to kind of always have an older generation of sensor?
Yeah, I mean when the X-H1 came out, the sensor that they put in it was still the newest one that they had, but it’s a tough call now since there’s a newer one out there.
Probably a smart move. There’s so many other buttons you probably don’t need it. I have a problem where if there is a button there I feel like I need to put it to use lol.
Dunna Did It, sure but when your capturing images in the moment, you dont want that opportunity taken away from you because you inadvertently brushed a button, you want your camera to work for you not against you,
Good to see that RUclipsrs haven’t completely abandoned this camera. I’m not in the market, but I’ve tried one a little while back, and MAN, that camera feels so good in the hand!
Hi there, I do have a question regarding XH1 eye detection and face detection for still photography after the update 2.01. I'm portrait/event/people photographer currently shooting with my beloved xpro 2. I guess my main question is about that eye/face detection in XH1 after upgrade is it better or at least same as my xpro 2 ? I know there is also xt3 which is very good but right now the $999 for XH1 with IB and battery grip+ 3 battery is very hard to resist. It wood be nice to stabilize those 56 mm and 16-55mm or 35 mm in low light situation. I'm not much worry about videos future they nice to have but not crucial for me. Thank you for answering my question Take care and have nice day. J.
Unfortunately, after I shot this review I had to send back this camera and they released the firmware upgrade shortly after that so I didn’t get to use it then. Anyone else in the comments able to helpful Jarek out here?
Some of the pro in here have more positive feedback then you pal . You are to hung up on XT3 this is about this X-H1 not comparison to newer versions. Your observations well said and taken , but , but
I am looking to buy my first camera and after seeing so many reviews, I am leaning more towards Fujifilm. I am confused between the X-H1 and X-T3. Problem is the X-T3 might just be a bit out of the budget. I am looking to do stills only but wouldn't mind some video. Some help would greatly be appreciated.
The x-t3 is a better camera as it stands but lacks ibis. If you’re doing mostly stills, this isn’t an issue. If you can save up for that, I’d probably advise it.
@@dunnadidit Thank you so much...I will save up a bit more and just go for the X-T3. I will be doing mostly stills. I have never done video before so I might try to learn with the X-T3.
I upgraded from the XT-20 and I'm honestly not that happy. The battery life is terrible and it's huge. Granted these are things I should've known going in. I'm considering switch to Sony since many bodies have IBIS and that A7iii has much better battery life. My big problem with Sony though, is their lenses are either too big and over priced or the APS-C lenses don't have great telephoto zoom options. I think I'm suffering from too many options.
Yeah that’s the problem right now isn’t it. All the options out there and yet there’s nothing out there that hits all the marks. Hopefully we’ll see that gap closed soon though as the competition between companies gets more and more intense.
I still have one doubt only to buy this camera I've never tried it but the thing is WHAT ABOUT THE IMAGE STABILIZATION is it nice ??? Plz if anyone has tried it i do really need your opinion
@@dunnadidit thanks a lot man i really appreciate ur fast reply i just saw it the body with the battery grip + 3 batteries at 1300$ + 700$ for the lens 18- 135 mm i guess it's a good deal don't you think so ? Sorry but one more question you said something about the image quality it's in the middle of something usually during my shooting (video) i have to take too many close up shots
@@dunnadidit what IAM saying is that in your review you said something about the image quality while you were shooting video so what's that thing is the image quality bad or what ?
@@dunnadidit what IAM saying is that in your review you said something about the image quality while you were shooting video so what's that thing is the image quality bad or what ?
That’s what I hoped too, but the most recent firmware upgrade has come out since the X-T3. Hopefully they can still do it. Unfortunately, turning off the Q button is an option but then you don’t get to use it lol. I’d like to use it, just when I choose to use it lol
The main limitation for the XH-1 is its processor at the moment. They could theoretically improve the camera with firmware but with the current processor in the XH-1 it would not be able to handle the workload. Fuji at one point had to roll back an update because the camera was bogged down by the workload. This is another reason why the XT-3 is so much more capable, because it has the next Gen processor.
Great video brother! Your review of the X-T3 helped my decision to buy one and I'm in love with it! Picture and video quality are excellent👍🏼 It was a scary thing at first switching from Canon
I picked up an used one from Ebay for 670€. Amazing camera, one of the best IBIS in an APS-C system. Image quality, video and fuji colors are outstanding. Battery life is quite short tho but that's the only complain I have so far. I highly recomend it If you can find one under 800€.
From what I've heard people are expecting the XH-2 in 2020, so I wouldn't hold your breath on it. Which is unfortunate since the XH-1 was really ahead of its own time, if they had waited 8 months and put the better processor of the XT-3 into the XH it would be a killer camera.
im kind of on a camera dillema. i have the canon t6i for more than a year now, and im looking for an massive upgrade. I thought about getting the a6500, but it seems like the a7000 is supposd to come out soon. Also been looking at the GH5 but the shallow depth of field isnt good enough with panasonic lenses.. and the fuji, well... It kind of competes with sony a6500 the way i see it, only with better IS and worst AF which is not ideal when you dont have a flipout screen. I guess il have to wait to the a7000 then :)
Turn off the 'Q' button, you won't miss it. If you have trouble with the shutter buttton it's you not the button. Sorry. Unless you 'really' need the grip don't bother with it, it makes the camera big and heavy. It's a bit heavy on batteries so just carry two extra batteries in your pocket instead of one, for a really heavy day carry 3, they're not that big.
If you need ibis, yes. If you don’t... no. The xt3 is superior in a lot of ways. Autofocus and picture quality are better on the xt3. And it has extra video features too. But if there’s a good deal on an x-h1 and it will work for you, then it’s still a great camera.
@@dunnadidit Oops. Sorry, I meant to mention that above. I currently use an a6300. I love the feel and the controls of the Fuji, and they seem to be bringing some very good lenses out too. But who knows. It is a tough decision to switch systems.
Hi Dunna, now its been a long time that i am stuck btw the 3 cameras i.e Xt3, canon eosr and Sony A7iii. I m mostly in stills (portaiture & landscaping) and partially do the videography plzz help me i need the sharp images which camera should i consider?
@@dunnadidit thank you so much for your time and reply i would really appreciate if u suggest me the 2 lenses with this one for portraiture and 1 for landscaping.
Yeah this is exactly where I’m at. The XH1 is great, but knowing all the upgrades they did in the XT3 makes me want to just wait for the XH2. Oh what a dilemma lol!
I recently bought it and absolutely love it. Was going to wait for the H2 to but figured it will be very expensive given how the H1 was priced on release. Also besides I doubt there will be that drastically a difference between the two. The only thing I can see them upping is the AF and battery life, which for me is hardly a issue
There are lots of options out there that are great for video. TheX-H1 might not be the best choice anymore. Look into the canon EOS R, fuji xt3, Sony a7iii or a6600
Because I’m often recording myself without a camera person. Or, I’m recording people and focus by wire isn’t fun, but face detection is pretty great! I’ve definitely been finding myself using manual focus more and more lately, but autofocus is still an incredibly valuable tool to have, even in video. The best part is if you don’t want it, you can just switch it off.
We have been using the X-H1 for the past 4 or 5 videos and prior to that the X-T20, in fact our Numéro Magazine video has been solicited for a best fashion video category. All in all a very competent tool: ruclips.net/video/iJ3RmUE0ALI/видео.html
or...they may have enough for the Sony, realize that there may be customers that don't even notice the 10-bit recording differences, could be invested in the Fuji ecosystem and saw some features they liked on the X-H1. I'd personally abstain from generalizing on consumer decisions, but that's just me.
I see your point Michael. I think a little speculation is ok as long as it’s not at anyone’s expense though. Obviously this camera is for whoever decides they want to have this camera, there really is no confirmable answer to the question “who is this camera for” in the end.
@@dunnadidit Correct. My response wasn't necessarily towards you. And yeah, it's a given that the camera is for whomever. It's just the generalizations I tend to see, which I was addressing. I appreciate the content btw as it was very helpful.
Nah, I kid. I like your vids man, keep it up! All our main cam stuff is shot with the XH-1. It’s not a bad camera, I just wish Fuji had incorporated the new tech into the XH before release this time around. A lot of long time users feel shafted by its release.
Yeah I totally hear you there, and it seems like it might be a while until the x-h2 as well from what I’ve heard. Would have been. Ice if they just waited a bit and gave the x-h1 with all the new stuff from the x-t3. But maybe they needed to have a trial run first.
@@grammata312 The X-H1 sensor has slightly better dynamic range and a bit lower noise in high iso but Fuji's iso 3200 is like Panasonic's 1600 in terms of brightness.

I think you covered everything really well. I was hoping to hear that a firmware update brought exFAT to the X-H1 to stop the annoying 4GB video file limit. They brought it to the X-T3, would like to see it on the X-H1 as well. And yeah, that crazy shutter button!
I remember reading that Fuji in Japan held an event where they were offering shutter button response adjustments to users.
Gerald Undone the firmware update brought the exFat file system to the xh1 and it will go to the xt3 in January’s next update for the xt3
@@scottag0 They do it for free here at Fuji Thailand too.
I’m thinking about getting the XH1 until the XH2 for the current projects I’m working on. In fact, I actually made a separate video on the XH2 and why it will be the perfect camera for me. 👍🏻 Video as always!!
Nice!! That will be great when it happens.
Yeah, the recent price drops have a lot of people looking at that upgrade much more seriously.
For me getting the grip made so much sense. My pinky finger now loves me and my ring finger no longer overly stressed.
A big improvement on the xt3 is the mhg Arca Swiss grip. It not a battery grip but it really improves holding the xt3.
The ergonomics are the big winner for me on the X-H1 too. Thanks for all your input!!
I've been hearing from a few sources about " better picture quality " from the XH1 compared to XT3. Could you elaborate more on what you mean by " more analog" ...thx
mediumdun18
The images from xt 3 looking more harsh compared to the images from the xh1
great camera system for art photography :) :) my next purchase :) :) .. moving from sony to fujifilm :)
can also get it for $300 which is a crazy good deal but it does require an extra $2,000 to make it work. Either way great deals.
insane deals!
Dunna you are killing it with these regular uploads! Love it 🔥
Thanks! Trying to do 2 per week this month instead of 1. We’ll see!
I love this review! As a canon user its nice to have an insight on what’s out there in the market! Great reference if i ever decide to upgrade!😉👌🏻
Thanks a ton Fayez! Glad you liked it!
I own an a6300 and it's been doing me very well. Watching this made me really want to get the xh1 but then I thought, do I really need it or do I just want it. Thanks for the video man 👍
The a7iii has been doing that same thing to me forever now. I’ve kept strong so far though.
@@dunnadidit yeah I feel the same towards a7iii too. gotta keep strong!
The a6500 is one of the choices I'm trying to decide on buying a camera. I think the a6700-7000 is on the way.
I hope so, if it’s got all the upgrades from the a6400 and more... I’ll be stoked!
If you're not interested in shooting video would this be overkill? Would you recommend another fujifilm X for just shooting stills?
I think that if I had been using Fuji earlier in life, I would be a diehard fan right now. But I grew up with Nikon and then fell in love with Sony on my own. The day could still come when I decide to get one of these though. I really really like them a lot.
I feel basically the same way!
The colors and gentle subject separation in this video looks so pleasant! Spot on, man!
Thank you so much!
@@dunnadidit alright. Thanks man.
My pleasure!
Great review !
B&H has the X-H1 and battery grip for 1299. Does this change any of your thoughts? Or recommendation?
It’s a killer sale! I think the xt2 and xt3 are on sale too. Also, I’ve heard that the upgraded firmware made a huge difference too... Either way, this is a great camera for sure, I’m still really excited to see where they go with the X-H2.
Dunna Did It thanks man! Love the channel!

I don’t think I would use that feature but who knows 🤷🏻♂️
I’m pretty much always in manual. And yeah, sometimes you just have to push that ISO to get it right. I typically don’t like to go past 1600 or 3200 on apsc cameras but sometimes you have to.
Looking at the image quality, can you tell any difference in comparison with the X-T3?
When it came to editing and color grading the 10 bit video footage there is definitely a difference. Photos were pretty similar but functionality like autofocus are definitely better on the xt3 so the experience of shooting both photos and video was improved.
Which lens do you recommend to get first if I decide to purchase this camera?
16-55 f2.8-4 is probably a decent one to start!
You mean the kit lens I believe, which is 18-55mm.
Correct! Thanks!
How do you get the clips for your strap through the eye hooks on the Fuji cameras like that? The chords seem too thick
I have the newest clips of Peak Design through the eye hooks on my X-H1. Bit of patience, wiggling and push did the trick for me.
Hmmm... now you’re going to have me trying to get the clips onto my a6500 all afternoon Bob!
Dunna Did It good luck 😅
Tried this Camera today looking to buy X-H1 moving from d5500 liked it a lot but like I kept touching the Q button buy accident annoying can it be turn off. good review thanks

are there any good adapters out there so that we can mount our ef mount lenses on this body? Great review btw! No bull krap straight to the point and very well made :)
There are definitely some filters out there, I couldn’t tell you how good they are though as I don’t have any experience with them. Thanks for the kind words!
fringer ef to fx pro ii !! i use it everyday and it works flawlessly
That some can prefer the grip of X-T3 over X-H1 is impossibel to understand. I can't hold a X-T3 i one hand for more than 3 minutes.
That’s one of the biggest things stopping me from wanting an xt3. There just not enough to hold onto in the grip.
I have 2 canon EFS lenses. Will I need an adapter for this camera if I'm gonna use those lenses?
Yes! Only Fuji x glass will fit without an adapter.
Honestly, I’m probably not the person to ask on that, I’m not super familiar with the options for fuji adapters. Maybe check out Scott Graham!
Can the new Fuji xf 50mm f1.0 work well on the x H 1
Ok I'm trying to decide if I want to buy the Fuji X-T3, BMPCC 4K, Sony A6500-7000, or GH5. I was leaning towards Fuji X-T3. I'm a hybrid shooter so I need the best of both worlds of video and photos.
This is my first time looking at the Fuji XH1. I didn't know this was also a APC-S camera as well. I want to build a rig for the X-T3 as well for filmmaking. Now the question is should I buy the X-T3 or just wait for the XH2 to drop?
If you can wait for the X-H2, my feeling is that it’s going to be a BEAST!
Why are you such a boss?! Always crush these review videos man

The X-H2 should be lit. I just hope they don’t make it obsolete like this one by sticking in the X-T3’s sensor rather than the X-T4’s.
XT-4? You mean by the time the X-H2 comes around they’ll basically be ready for another X-T upgrade leaving the X-H series to kind of always have an older generation of sensor?
Dunna Did It I hope not, but that is what they did already with the X-H1.
Yeah, I mean when the X-H1 came out, the sensor that they put in it was still the newest one that they had, but it’s a tough call now since there’s a newer one out there.
Come on Dunna! You know you want to make the switch to the Fuji Family it’s ok we welcome you 👍🏽 #fujixt2 user here.

Audio can be monitored via HDMI.
I jumped the gun. $1698 with grip and 16-55/2.8 and with the latest firmware. Never too late for a cult follower.
Haha full send!
I still have one doubt only to buy this camera I've never tried it but the thing is WHAT ABOUT THE IMAGE STABILIZATION is it nice ??? Plz if anyone has tried it i do really need your opinion

Nice review man 👌 please review the sigma 56mm 1.4 on the a6500! 😎
It’s coming!!
Im sure a firmware update will bring the XH1 on par or exceed the XT3 video capabilities. BTW - you can turn the Q button off in the settings.
That’s great to hear! I definitely get that it was a scary thing but I’m glad you’re loving it!
Dunna Did It thanks man👍🏼 keep up the good work you're an inspiration!
Probably going to get it just for the stabilization. Getting older and shaky.
Apparently the most recent upgrade made the stabilization amazing!
I picked up an used one from Ebay for 670€. Amazing camera, one of the best IBIS in an APS-C system. Image quality, video and fuji colors are outstanding. Battery life is quite short tho but that's the only complain I have so far. I highly recomend it If you can find one under 800€.
XH-1 is great but I'm looking forward to an XH-2 sometime soon!
Me too!
From what I've heard people are expecting the XH-2 in 2020, so I wouldn't hold your breath on it. Which is unfortunate since the XH-1 was really ahead of its own time, if they had waited 8 months and put the better processor of the XT-3 into the XH it would be a killer camera.
Agreed!
And if they started working with other lens making companies in 2020 such as sigma that would be amazing!
Congrats on the deal man!
Thanks dude!
“Get a grip” can be good advice in another context 😉 but on this cam it’s a deal-breaker for me. Too much weight and bulk for my ergo needs.
Lol. Speaking about the vertical grip?
im kind of on a camera dillema. i have the canon t6i for more than a year now, and im looking for an massive upgrade.
Haha I feel like you talked yourself through your whole camera dilemma lol
Turn off the 'Q' button, you won't miss it. If you have trouble with the shutter buttton it's you not the button. Sorry. Unless you 'really' need the grip don't bother with it, it makes the camera big and heavy. It's a bit heavy on batteries so just carry two extra batteries in your pocket instead of one, for a really heavy day carry 3, they're not that big.
would you recommend XH1 over xt3 now that the XH1 WITH verticall grip is at $1,299.00 on amazon?? I already have the xt2
If you need ibis, yes. If you don’t... no. The xt3 is superior in a lot of ways. Autofocus and picture quality are better on the xt3. And it has extra video features too. But if there’s a good deal on an x-h1 and it will work for you, then it’s still a great camera.
skipped the X-T2 and got a X-T3, but now the X-H1 with the battery grip is 1,300 at B&H Wow!

Zeiss has some x-mount lenses but have never seen them in the wild!
The mythical zeiss x mount lenses... they are the dragons and the unicorns of the photography world.
I’m just looking for something that’s excellent for video.
There are lots of options out there that are great for video. TheX-H1 might not be the best choice anymore. Look into the canon EOS R, fuji xt3, Sony a7iii or a6600
Why would you use autofocus in video? Why would you want the camera controlling anything when making videos? Cameras don't know what you want.

That’s why I have the a6500 😉 eventually I’m sure I’ll go full frame.
or...they may have enough for the Sony, realize that there may be customers that don't even notice the 10-bit recording differences, could be invested in the Fuji ecosystem and saw some features they liked on the X-H1.
