- Thanks to Innstar for sending me this belt to try out. I've never spent time with a ratcheting belt, so it gives me good context. Question is, is this the future of belts or a failure? Let me tell you my thoughts...

Few audio mishaps when I put my head down and talk and get too close to the mic... but F it! We'll do it LIVE!
Great review. I like these types of videos. The shout out caught me off guard in the end, thanks B!
Almost forgot 😅
I feel like a big benefit here is being able to just have it on the whole time because of how much it can tighten and loosen once on. Even a PAL lever might need taken off between sets. I'm definitely interested in one of these.
So as someone who wears a PAL most of the times, I just unlatch it between sets and it's fine, or I'll just move to a more open position.
LOVE MY SPUD INC PRO SERIES DEADLIFT BELT . HAPPY WEEKEND !! SPF 65 sunny for us !!
Nice!!
I love your unbiased review. For me the key selling point is the quality and that belt does scream quality.
I just wish they took their own aesthetic approach
Inzer already had this concept years ago, but is an eyesore. Inzer had the excess belt on the outside, so no pinching when ratched tight.
However, Inzer has a literal copycat of this Innstar model on their website posted in the past month. Not sure if Innstar sold Inzer the license for the mechanism, as Inzer is using it's own leather, but Inzer being IPF approved allows this specific model in IPF meets. Similar to how Pioneer licensed PAL to A7 belts to be used in IPF meets.
I believe Titan has one too no?
@@BasementBrandon Ratchet system? No. Titan has an adjustable lever comparable to SBD that also has 1-inch spacing.
We'll do it LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Belt seems to take too long to put on /off, ain't nobody got time for that.
Agreed. If you're wearing it all session not a big deal, but I don't have complaints from my current belts.
I’ve had an 13mm Inzer ratchet belt since ‘06 and it looks a lot stiffer than that one you have. I do like the ratchet for the reasons you mentioned, but the one downside to the Inzer version is that the ratchet is held on with rivets. So 15+ years on mine is fraying and I can’t replace the strap on it, where that one look’s potentially replaceable.
and the Inzer is IPF approved!
I have the same belt! Sounds like you had success with yours but mine just irritated me
Not a typical hardcore piece, but the Innstar band bar was useful for curls in the early pandemic days. I didn't know they make belts.
Seems they make a bunch of stuff!
Very cool belt, but I have to agree that the convenience of the lever is a huge advantage. Also, pressing the button to loosen the ratchet doesn’t even come close to the mighty lever flick.
Challenge accepted
This is great for people that go up and down in weight often. My waist goes from 36 to 32 inches so I'm looking into getting this during cuts. I'd be interested to see one of those thinner bodybuilding or oly-weightlifting style belts use this mechanism
Right on
I think spud inc has a nylon belt that ratchets but this is a cool idea overall more options pushes innovation for all of us, but I agree they need to change the styling of the belt. It’s its own thing.
Inzer makes one as well!
Is the strap that does the ratchet made of nylon? If so, I would think the issue with removing it (because of the folded/sewn end) could go away by cutting it flush and melting the exposed end so it doesn’t unravel. If it’s cotton, that wouldn’t work but then they should consider swapping the cotton for nylon. Great review!
Def could do that, not sure you'd want to sacrifice the potential safety though!
Ive had 0 complaints with my pioneer pal belt. Half inch increments, easily replaceable parts, infinite customization
Great to hear!
I’m still liking the Pioneer cut belt, but I’m not an elite power lifter. I think I would go to a lever over the ratchet though.
Right on!
Wow. I have never seen a ratcheting belt. That is a cool design. I am sure it can get very tight.
Really enjoy seeing new products and innovation. Great vid.
Pretty popular in strongman
Inzer made the PR belt years ago, but nobody ever buys it. This belt in particular is on the Inzer website now as the PR Power belt. Literal copy.
As much as I would love the perfect fit of a ratchet...the amount of time and inability to get it off would be a pass for me. Nice walk through Bill O'Reilly of RUclips Fitness.
Yeah the perfect fit isn't worth the on/off hassle to me.
Interesting idea. "Just Ratcheting..." LOL! Nice insertion of another hole joke, too!
😇
I get it for fun. It just keeps things interesting.
Right on
Give me a ratcheting belt like that and I'd spend way too much time trying to get it adjusted just right. Adjustability is great but not at the expense of repeatability.
Makes sense!
Get the Spud Inc super pro series belt instead.
Ratchet system but you never have to feed the strap through because it’s knotted
Nice!
Good review but no thank you. I'll stick to my Inzer :)
Inzer also makes a ratcheting belt!
Rocky III quote banner in the back... Favorite Rocky III quote "Prediction? PAIN!"
Lots of good ones!
Strongmen moving to powerlifting will love it
Good call
Lifetime warranty? My Inzer buckle was replaced. Great belt
Not sure the warranty TBH
Inzer sells this and has a guarantee.
I definitely need that
Let me know if that's still the case once I get to the price!
Inzer sells this for $145
Is the strap long enough that you could just drop the belt past your hips and too the floor to just step out of it? Just never pull the nylon out of the ratchet shaft.
It's just about there if you like to shimmy.
The other idea someone posted about cutting the end off and just melting it with a cigarette light would be the go. However, instead of putting the tail of the strap through to the other side, can you put it through the slot, and then back towards your RHS? (Like a ratchet strap on a truck/trailer). Might offer the same safety feature, could have a longer strap so you don’t need to take it out all the way (and just tuck the tail into the belt or you could have a fancy Velcro thing etc). Not sure why it matters to me, because I don’t really wear a belt anymore 😂
Strap tends to get stuck some if it isn't pulled straight through in my experience :(
Are those chrome calibrated plates I see in the background? Are we getting a review of those coming up?
Yes, still waiting on the the 20s/25s though!
“Big ratchet, little ratchet” hahah
😅
Interesting belt
even more so if it was customizable.
That would be Cool
Yeah, I think they'd be better served separating themselves from a similar SBD look!
Brandon me and u have the same leverages.. and I also keep my head down on deadlifts… almost similar to your setup, I just wondered have u tried looking up and raising the chest higher? Just wanna know if u tried different setups on your pulls
I find that causes me to lose some tightness, but best to try out a bit of everything and see what works best for you IMO
Hey Brandon, can you roll deadlifts in when powerlifting? I find it works best for me. Have you ever tried them? Usually for people with larger bellys which I am 😂
Yes you can
Love to incorporate some “ratcheting” into a workout. 😂😂😂 Someone needs to get some hidden video of someone ratcheting in the gym.
Ratcheting off can be a bit of a pain sometimes
The new inzer rachet belt looks just like this
Prob same factory
Somebody copied and praying a lawsuit isn't pending 😂
Have you tried the Titan multi-Adjustable lever belt?
I have not!
Do you have any experience using the Inzer ratcheting belt? I was thinking of buying one. Think it's kinda whack that their concepts seem to be mimicked time and time again, but that's what they get for taking ages to ship, I suppose.
I think Titan made one as well!
Did you ever review or examine a best belt?
I have not.
How should I choose the size of this belt?
Measure around your navel and use that based off the sizing chart.
Will you test notorious lift sumo gen 3?
I have some!
How do I buy a belt online?
Just go to your preferred vendor and order?
Product demo animation on Inzer site is literally the same 23 seconds that Innstar uses. Not sure who the copycat is.
Innstar has videos on RUclips of ratchet belts with Innstar stamped on the front looking exactly like Inzer's PR BELT New Model (stupid name) that comes in a black smooth leather outside.
Something definitely fishy here.
That's one of the downsides of importing, there's no loyalty with the manufacturers.
Hola cuando vas a probar las nuevas rodilleras Titan TKS?
I was sent a pair but they're too big.
"just ratchething..." lol
😅
Seems like a very good item to gather dust, no offence to the manufacturer
Ratchet belts are more popular in Strongman, but believe it or not there are some on the IPF approved lift.
I think a company that has confidence in their product would go with an original aesthetic and not copy the aesthetic of an actual premium product.
I agree
this is also a knock off of the inzer pr belt
Yep very similar.
Exact copy 😂 Just has a logo, wheras Inzer never uses logo on their belts.
Thanks for the review. Not for me, still think it’s a cool concept but the time it takes not for me
Makes sense!
Kinda seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist...
Well a ratchet belt isn't new, more popular in Strongman!
@@BasementBrandon oh yeah fair enough! I was being a little myopic as a power lifter 😅
My brother and I have always talked about how annoying it is to be between holes on our belts and how convenient a ratcheting belt would be but now that one is here… I don’t think i want one lol. What feds is this allowed in?
Ratchet belts have been around for a bit, in fact Inzer makes one that is IPF approved.
@@BasementBrandon saw one in person in 2017. Looked a little annoying to use but I do see why some would like it!
Now gym thot's can go full on ratchet too 🤣🤣🤣
Lol true
Is it worth it to buy a sbd knock off belt sir?
They're not as far apart as the pricing would suggest to me, but it rips off of SBD patents which I don't like .
Brandon is so Ratchet
Always considered myself more hood rat
1th
I was actually just watching your natural hypertrophy video and was lol'ing about the video comment about your traps.
@@BasementBrandon 😂😂😂
Looks very annoying
Agreed
Can you please do a review of Alibaba belt.
I try not to promote things that violate patents. I will say it's not as nice, but it's closer than you think for the price.
