- This comes off the monstrous 1984 album. This is definitely not a note-for-note drum cover -- I played this more like I thought Alex might play it live, where he would often add extra kicks to the studio tracks. I also dropped my stick at the end, but the song was over, so it's all good lol! Rock on, groovy peeps! 🤘🤘

I don’t think people know how hard it is to play Alex Van Halen. He had such a unique sense of rhythm as did Eddie. Trying to play along with a VH song is super challenging and you absolutely crushed this one!

Yaaaasssss! GGB off of the '84 Album. Oh yeah, Baby!! What a song. What riffs. What mega bone-crushing drumming by the man Alex Van Halen. Just some of everything... and the best in the biz!! I don't really know how you drummers refer to this effect... but I always used to say to my Buds.... that Al was "playing behind Ed: on this one. Something about the way this sounds.... just mega hard. Mega in your face. Mind-blowing when I first heard it... and still to this day, sometimes. And as always... Mike... you CRUSHED it!!! Absolutely smoking drumming. Anyone who says AVH isn't a total monster on the kit.. is nutz! And the same is true of you. Man... you just smoked this one, Brother! I love it when people get what is going on between the guitar and the drums with Van Halen, that is the rhythm section.... Alex always played to Ed's groove, which is why he seems behind the best. Al was fineseful, subtle and jazzy... Very much his Ginger Baker influence... You nailed it...

Great job on a killer VH song! This just proves how underrated Alex is as a drummer. I've always thought he was a top 5 drummer at least. One question though, at 2:54 why the edit at this point? There's about 30 seconds of the song omitted here. Is it because there's little to no drumming during this section of the song?
