The Legend of the Klondike Gold Rush and Smith Tower in Seattle, Washington

Today we visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park and the Smith Tower here in Seattle. The city of Seattle is located in Washington state and is one of the states two biggest cities along with Spokane. The population of Seattle is over 700K and is home to Starbucks, Amazon and Google.

Smith Tower
Smith Tower is an iconic 1914 office tower featuring a speakeasy-style cocktail bar & a 35th-floor observatory historic building in Seattle, WA. First opened in 1914, the building re-opened to the public with a brand new visitor experience in 2016, including a renovated Observatory level, craft cocktail bar, and museum-style exhibits.
Klondike Gold Rush
The Klondike Gold Rush was a migration by an estimated 100,000 prospectors to the Klondike region of Yukon, in north-western Canada, between 1896 and 1899.
In August, 1896, Skookum Jim and his family found gold near the Klondike River in Canada's Yukon Territory. Their discovery sparked one of the most frantic gold rushes in history. Nearby miners immediately flocked to the Klondike to stake the rest of the good claims.
Seattle
Seattle, a city on Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest, is surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests, and contains thousands of acres of parkland. Washington State’s largest city, it’s home to a large tech industry, with Microsoft and Amazon headquartered in its metropolitan area. The futuristic Space Needle, a 1962 World’s Fair legacy, is its most iconic landmark. (Google)
