You should aid climb it, placing as much protection as possible,. No rope solo - have a portaledge competition - the one worst at setting it up must belay and clean the route of pro. :-D

Climb it in Ondra/Megos cosplay, and absolutely powerscream your lungs out on every single move. Bonus points for any absurd flexible drop knee.

It's a great technique when on an indoor climbing wall and you want to encourage good communication.
I love how the big wall version of this climb is just: "Climb on no gear to the anchor, set up belay and portaledge, climb on no gear to the top"
I also love how Pete carried a full rack of nuts without using them.

Scuba tanks are extremely heavy. I think this is a bit too dangerous an idea, even for pete and tom

Climb as if it were high altitude Alpine mixed climbing: puffy jumpers, goggles, outer mitten shells, dry tooling, supplemental O2 optional but heavily preferred.
I'd also suggest that after hauling up the porta-ledge and bouldering pad, Pete and Tom haul Mari up in a haul bag for each pitch.
Haha, yeah! It would be a great way to practice what to do Incase repelling down with an injured climber (for example rock fall has taken out anchors you need and you also don't want to chance being below falling rocks)
I want to see you two climb it and have a competition to see who can place the most gear on the pitch!

Honestly that felt horrifying to watch as a new climber, the rope was completely useless at most points and a slip would have meant an injury or worse.
@@MahiKoodaa I'm not a climber and was very confused about that. They spent a lot of time discussing the best way to fall, but I couldn't see how the rope was going to do anything.
Top rope the route, but you climb at the same time holding your partners hand the whole time
You should climb this wall with a twister wheel. The person at the bottom spins the wheel and then the person climbing has to move that limb next.

My wife and I think that to truly become a master at climbing the Master's Edge, one must also be able to masterfully down climb. So let's see the climb in reverse!
Ah my favorite: Dressed as Santa Claus. Proper huge belly that pushes you out of the wall. Proper beard that blocks you also of seeing your footholds. And glasses that makes you having a hard time to see.
Try to live (cooking, sleeping, doing some pastimes) 24 hours in the masters edge😂
Since you've climbed it so many times, I'd love to see you guys climb this blindfolded (On toprope most likely since that climb looks spicy as all hell)
Do a couple Would You Rather’s from Climber’s Crag before you start, and then climb baring the consequences. Would you rather climb without shoes on or climb with gardening gloves? Blind folded or while eating a ghost pepper? Without coffee or way over caffeinated? With a full bladder or with itching powder? Etc.
As you’ve done it as a big wall, next year you could dress up as Andy Kirkpatrick, with a snow suit and thick Hull accents and aid climb the route using only sky hooks.
I would suggest to climb this wall as if it was a castle wall, meaning that you would wear a proper knigh armor. :-D
Seen your vids pop up alot as over the last 3 yrs been slowly hooked on climbing vids, I did a little as a kid and teen and in my 30s now and with 2 step kids recently the focus i remember it gave me i want to pass on, so any tips and tricks would be great, love the vids, When u climbed the big wall but had to camp out as it got dark, wow i can only imagine being that confident, and just enjoying it. Looked amazing. Keep up the great vids. And As always be safe
Next year: dry tooling. And if you're worried about the ice axes ruining the rock, why not wrap the axe tips in bubble wrap?

Without climbing shoes! When I was in font a while back I was amazed by how many locals climbed without shoes on even really hard boulders of all styles, so it would be great to see how you guys would fare!
You should do the climb with a ridiculous rack, just full on aid rack, maybe aid the climb, but probably more fun to free climb it with the full aid rack and setup.
This is the quality content I need more of in my life.
Next year make a "free solo"/ "meru" documentary of you guys climbing this wall.
Or just wear a blindfold.

I'd love to see you two show up and climb master's edge enough times in a day to amount to an el cap ascent, however many times that is. Get a real multipitch climb going!
Master Chef Edge. The person who made the best meal (by a panel of judge) by the time they get to the top, wins. Just try and make oatmeal in a modified chalkbag or something. The meal has to be made at some point on the wall.

You can make it the "Jedi Masters Edge" and climb it in Jedi robes with lightsabers. Some reverse Editing and you forcepull climbing gear from a distance ;)
Dual-climbing: Lock yourselves together and climb as one. One climbs with left arm + leg, the other with the right arm + leg. Maybe you'd tape yourselves to each other or something. Utterly stupid, probably dangerous as well; perfect!

I'll suggest you climb the route having crack gloves/tape on your feet and wearing climbing shoes on your hands. Love the vids, keep it up!
Climb it wearing nothing but a kilt, Braveheart style facepaint and a bagpipe.
Oh and you're only allowed to move while producing sounds with the bagpipe.
PLEASE climb it with someone who has never climbed before and you have to coach them through everything

Memorise Adam Ondra's scream routine on Silence and recite it while you climb it next year.
The next logical step would be to fix the first pitch on day 1, sleep at the base, jug up and send the 2nd pitch on day 2.
First I was thinking of no hands or no feet. But that's a bit too hard. So I'd go for blindfolded (top rope)! That's a great challenge. After all these years you ought to remember every move. XD

Next year you should try it almost undressed, like in a swimsuit or something OR from the top to the base (Downclimbing it). Great vid !

Next year you guys should go all out. Bring the entire trad rack, put in as many pieces as possible. Bring the porta ledge, bouldering pads. Of course you have to power scream on every move. Two ropes per person obviously. And then maybe a blindfold for extra fun.

Next year, live stream Q&A from the porta ledge and climb with GoPros strapped to head for POV climbing. Would love to see your view. Can gamify it with a stamina bar and finger durability (etc.) overlaid in post. Never seen anything like that before.
Solo the beast with a Keenan Takahashi on "Still Alive" style pad-fortress at the bottom. Maybe a huge Air-Bag?
Climb it in the style of a CRACKIPEDE. Since a centipede usually has more legs then 4, the bottom person could probably use his arms. Maybe use a sling or something to fasten the top guys feet with the bottom guy.

I think that you should climb the route “Tommy Caldwell in the 80’s style.” This means that you can’t use your left index finger at any time. Also, you need to wear the attire of the 80’s: neon tights, weird stringy tank tops, and a headband of some sort.

I would totally love to see you climb in the t-rex costumes with those massive heads and tiny short arms. This would make this climb probably a lot more tricky.

Top rope self belaying time race, for bonus points name and demonstrate as many crack climbing techniques as you can while climbing. Seems like that's right up your alley

Epic! Have you guys published a topo guide for this big wall route?
Hi, you could choose 2 routes for this and climb it like: first person will climb it as always but with chalk that is colored so you know where did you touch and the second one must climb it without using holds that are colored. It would probably drastically increase the difficulty and you would need toprope but it would be fun to see how the second one manages it and to be fair for second route switch who will go first. I would like to see if it's even possible.
Bring a big wooden beam, as long as the climb is high. Then tie it onto the climb so you can crackclimb between masters edge and the beam. It will be the crackmasters edge!
I would like to see you climb masters edge where you have to shotgun a beer every time you place a piece of protection, to help even out the nerves.

Next year we want to see you climb it while strapped to each other! For added difficulty, Tom can only use his feet, Pete can only use his hands!

*Only protective gear and tape allowed (go nuts with the tape and make yourself a pair of shoes)

Quick question for a big wall beginner: On a real big wall, do you also recommend chucking your portaledge to the ground to optimize weight ratios for enhanced performance?
That is what they do in Yosemite. The bases of big walls are littered with discarded ledges and haulbags. No not really. Don't chuck stuff off walls.

Next year you've got to free solo this beast of a big wall. Maybe bare footed and without chalk if you're feeling adventurous and primative. Or like potentially getting injured. I haven't seen how well you handled it just yet.

Climb it like a v2 gym bro. Shirts off with as poor technique as possible, full on gumby style. Might actually be a bit of a challenge doing a route with as poor technique as possible! Oh and make sure act as obnoxiously douchy as possible too, would be rather entertaining to see you guys so out of character ;)
